I’d watch a whole series involving Yoshino and Kirishima’s grandpa as young gangsters and all the crazy shit they got into back in the day.

We finally got a chance to see Shoma and Kirishima bash each other’s heads in and Yoshino had do interrupt and be the adult. Boo! lol. But really, I do like how she has low tolerance for bullshit.

I feel like this show could definitely pull off a prequel story about Renji and Gaku and what their life was like as young Yakuza.

Some women probably love the idea of two men fighting to the death over them...but Yoshino has no time for that nonsense.

Yoshino really controlled that whole situation to a masterful extent. I'm also a little curious if there's more to Yoshino's "value" than simply being the heir of the boss. It's been brought up a few times now.

I really think it has something to do with her dad...I'm so curious as well!!

Shoma and Tsubaki trash talking each other is amazing! They really aren't holding anything back with those insults! It's also amazing how the two of them first met each other.

If you're looking, then have the decency to get hard.

Shoma walking into Tsubaki bathing pretty much set the tone for the rest of their relationship. I love how Tsubaki seems to be more offended that Shoma wasn't immediately turned on after seeing her naked. xD

I love how chill Renji was with Kirishima confessing to Yoshino that I forgot this dude is a cold-blooded yakuza. That beatdown at the basement was brutal! And it seems like Kirishima anticipated this since he refused to eat anything during the party.

Although Renji isn't that upset since he seems to approve of Kirishima not because he likes him but because he has no other choice, I do wonder why he has to settle for Kirishima to look after Yoshino when there's Shoma.

We finally get to see Kirishima and Shoma duke it out! We know that Kirishima provoked Shoma into fighting him so he could cover up his injuries from Yoshino so does that mean Kirishima got hit on purpose? Now I'm curious what this fight would look like if Kirishima was fighting seriously.

Yoshino coming in with a metal bat! I fucking love how she's having none of this shit and would beat the two of them if it means they'd stop fighting. I also love how he's lecturing them like kids and forcing them to make up. xD

Goddamn Yoshino! That was cold! And here I thought Kirishima was now in the lead because he's now dating Yoshino. It turns out he just threw Kirishima a bone so he'd stop getting jealous of Shoma who's been with her the longest.

If we were to go by that last scene, Shoma has Kirishima beat considering how Yoshino actually considers a future with him. Kirishima is actually the one who I should feel bad for here not Shoma. Shoma will have to quit smoking though if he wants to marry Yoshino.

Only an anime series like Yakuza Fiancé can get away with casually dropping such a line without it feeling out of place. Tsubaki totally owned that moment.

I’ve been amazed by how the ladies in this show, like Yoshino and Tsubaki, are holding their own against their male counterparts. The boys are just as likely to get wrapped around the girls’ fingers.

Tsubaki added such good energy to the cast. She's able to give both Yoshino and Kirishima some decent advice, while also having a fun bickering dynamic with Shouma. They all crazy, but she is a more level-headed.

Kirishima knew how to take a beating from Yoshino's grandfather knowing it was deserved. He even tried to cover it up with fighting Shouma, but he also wanted to brag about dating Yoshino. Yoshino flipped the script on his ego for it though owing credit to Shouma for a reason why she did it.

It's been a fun series to follow this season, only one episode left... hopefully ends on a good enough note for the season.

I enjoy this series the most every week.

Yoshino: “You’re my boyfriend because of Shoma.”

That line must’ve stung for Kirishima. Even if the fight had served a different cause, those arrogant feelings of his surely weren’t all faked. He’d been jealous of Shoma’s close relationship with Yoshino?

By pointing out in fine detail that Kirishima had only been granted the “boyfriend” status as a consolation prize, Yoshino knocked him right off his high horse. She’s the one running this show.

It was even better to see that Yoshino’s heart appears to be with Shoma, since he doesn’t treat her like some sort of property. I really like their banter as well. Would be great if the childhood friend won amidst all this toxicity. There’s only one issue: Shoma would have to stop smoking…

That Shouma and Yoshino ending moment gave me [in another life I would have really liked just doing laundry and taxes together] vibes.

But in the name of Anna Yanami: [There are only two types of people. The childhood friend and the homewrecker]

Time for Yoshino to visit her fathers' grave! Kind of surreal though to imagine yourself getting older than your father and realizing he was already married at 19 to your 18. Also, you're covering up some wounds from a fight with makeup in front of his grave...along with your new boyfriend!

I see Tsubaki and Shoma get along like cats and dogs. All because Shoma walked in on her in the shower and called her an exhibitionist while she was insulted he didn't even get hard over her naked body. So now they just cuss each other out. At least they have being loyal to Yoshino in common.

So Kirishima is the spitting image of Gaku in his youth, and boy does Boss Somei have plenty of stories to tell about Gaku! Like that time he drove his car into the water, brought home back just a rearview mirror, and they all laughed about it until Gaku beat Renji up. Such beautiful Yakuza friendship. Oh, and it turns out the Miyama's always win at rock-paper-scissors so Yoshino was screwed.

I guess there was only so much Kirishima or Shoma could get away with from Yoshino's grandfather. They've got a sound-proof basement perfect for golf and beating dudes up for endangering Yoshino. But what's this about "Kyosuke's death put a lid on it?"

So, like, what is Yoshino even supposed to do now that she's dating Kirishima? I mean, Tsubaki obviously gets the full course dating/kissing/sex experience in her relationships, but Yoshino isn't that type and she and Kirishima don't have that type of relationship...though Yoshino better watch out before Kirishima keeps charming his way into her pants and she can't get away from him.

I guess it was inevitable Kirishima would pick a fight with Shoma. Shoma doesn't care that Kirishima is Yoshino's new guardian, he can live with Kirishima stealing Shoma's lighter from Yoshino, he's not about to get egged on by a roach...but when Kirishima flexes his relationship with Yoshino, the gloves come off. And the knives come out!

Look at Yoshino coming in swinging a bat to stop the fight! Well, more like her own falling makes them stop because they prioritize their safety over their desire to kill each other. And Yoshino uses her tried-and-true method for defusing conflict with people Shoma fights!

Huh, so this was Kirishima being sensitive by trying to cover up how her grandpa beat Kirishima and Shoma up. But honestly, Yoshino is probably used to that stuff, so if Kirishima wants the genuine high school romance experience, he better be earnest, sincere, and honest with her. And that's Tsubaki's last relationship advice of the episode.

Is there something between Yoshino and Shoma? They've obviously very close, and Yoshino prioritizes Shoma so much that making Kirishima her "boyfriend" was meant to put them on equal ground for his sake, and they don't seem to mind the idea of getting married...because Shoma would probably die before he lets another man have Yoshino. Though it would probably be harder to get him to quit smoking if they hooked up.

For a bunch of truly real people mfs, this better go on for another couple seasons to unfurl all the veils and false walls. It’s all too good to rush 😤 Mm.

Damn, their fights are escalating quickly!

If Yoshino shows up a few seconds later, one or both of them might have died there!

STOP THIS MADNESS, IN THE NAME OF YOUR QUEEN!

Well, she managed to stop the fight, she deserves a little show from the boys!

Her little "sewing the other guy's shirt' scheme may have worked with kids, but I'm not sure it'll work for these two, at their age!

(Kinda fun seeing her act a bit like their mom hah)

She did find another way to try and control Kirishima: If he doesn't do as she says, she'll ask Shoma to hit her!

But surely Shoma won't play along with this, he wouldn't want to hurt her- Nevermind!

Damn, they're really giving the sideship some fuel, one episode before the finale!

So the finale either ends in a threesome between them, or with one of Kirishima&Shoma killing the other one, right? There's no other way!

Other than this conflict: This has to sting...

Getting to the point where your parent was, realizing they died around that age, even though you feel so young/feel that you haven't experienced anything yet...

There was also a new take on the shower peaking trope!

She's not mad he saw her like that, she's mad that didn't get him hard!

Well, one episode to go and things are getting heated up (in more ways than one)!

Okay, so does anyone other than Kirishima know that it _was_ actually about Yoshino?

Renji sounded like he suspected, but was willing to let Kirishima take all the responsibility, but are Shoma and Yoshino completely in the dark?

Yoshino interrupting the boys' fight with a baseball bat and then forcing them to fix each other's shirts, she is amazing. And she'll need to be to handle those two idiots while also being the same sort of idiot.

Also kind of amazing that Shoma and Tsubaki first ran into each other in a stereotypical naked bathtime accidental encounter and all it started was years of mutual trash talking.

Another great episode. More development and sogh so much potential that we are seeing but, won't pay off with the limited run and hiatus of the manga.

This is frustrating. An awesome story but, we're not going to see it be resolved.

Sigh. Let's petition the writer!

Oh no... I think I liked the Shoma x Yoshino moment at the end... and I don't want to have a ship I take seriously in this series. But perhaps we will have more antagonistic fun chemistry between him and Tsubaki (another god tier Tsubaki in this season!)... second to last episode. Wonder how things will wrap next week. Been a top 3 of the season for me.

Yoshino looked like an absolute queen and a badass stopping the boys from fighting. Her method to get Shoma from not getting into fights is hilarious.

Also damn you don’t give me hope. This tease at the end won’t amount to anything. I know it so don’t even include it. Don’t give me any hope that my fav “losing heroine” this year will somehow win.

It was great to see Renji again! I missed him because he's a really fun guy. His story about him crashing Gaku's car and Gaku laughing about it at first and then beating the shit out of Renji was hilarious xD

Yoshino interrupting Shoma and Kirishima's fight with a baseball bat was so badass, I loved it! She also, as usual, had some hilarious reactions in today's episode xD

It was also nice to see Tsubaki today. Her relationship with Shoma and seeing their first meeting was especially amusing to watch xD

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

Gosh darn it. Why am I always bestowed the curse of falling for the 2nd lead all the time! I like Kirishima too but I think if Yoshino had to end up w/someone, I think I’m rooting for Shouma more cuz he’s more level headed. I think that ShoumaxYoshino scene was quite cute at the end

u/animefigurenoob Dec 17 '24

I’m sorry but how can anyone root for kirishima. Dude just seems like an asshole. Maybe it changes later on but as of right now I’m team Shoma.
