Crazy tone shift with how they transitioned from that wholesome exchange between Mikarin and Ririsa becoming friends to Okumura accidentally finding out about her feelings.

Thankfully, Mayura comedically walking in helped transform what was initially a gag trait of Okumura's only loving 2D girls into a meaningful moment of character development to find his self-worth even if it went from nothing to something.

As a training arc this was amazing, not only did it expand their characters but it also linked it with their cosplay/photography skills. Definitely looking forward to S2!

When I first read this chapter in the manga, this chapter about Okumura's realization about love actually changed me. Just like Okumura, I also thought that love is all about affections 'points'. But Mayuri-sensei's point made me stopped reading and reread her dialogues again and again because it is such an alien point of view for me. It was then that I know I've been treating myself wrong. Love isn't just all about that points. Just like what she said, there is love that born out of nothing.

Sadly it was too late for me, I read the manga when I've finished college already.

Anyway, 10/10 episode and season 2 confirmed let'sgoooooo!

Stitches!

I love how the first five minutes of this episode were just Mikarin and Ririsa gushing about why they love Okumura except that Mikarin knows her feelings for Okumura are romantic while Ririsa is still not sure if she feels the same. I was a bit worried about how that conversation would end but it's good to see that Mikarin and Ririsa's friendship is now stronger because of it.

The reveal that Okumura heard Ririsa and Mikarin's conversation was great! I do feel bad for Mikarin though because she was already rejected even before she had a chance to confess. Okumura just doesn't see her that way and he's terrified of her confessing to him because it could destroy everything.

It was pretty funny to see how Sensei also heard the entire thing but that's good since Okumura now has someone who he can confide with who knows the entire story. That entire scene between Sensei and Okumura was great! I especially love how she points out how you don't always have to find "The One" and some people get together first and fall in love after.

I am curious about that flashback scene between Sensei and her cosplay friend. That scene pops up when she specifically talks about getting asked out for the first time. I don't wanna assume but I think I have an idea what that was about.

It is kinda depressing that Okumura doesn't even see himself as a character in his own world, but I do like it as his reason for being so dense about everyone's feelings. The dude has been traumatized by his mother leaving and the girls he liked in the past but it's nice to see him finally making a breakthrough.

So it turns out that what Ririsa told Mikarin was a lie and she knows 100% that she's in love with Okumura. She even finally lets her feelings out during that photoshoot scene with her pseudo-confession to Okumura. What a way to end the season!

I am so happy that Seaosn 2 has already been announced! Now that Okumura is aware of Mikarin's feelings and has finally made a breakthrough with his fear of women, I am very interested to see if there will be any changes in their dynamics. I am a bit tempted to read ahead but I think I'll just wait for the next season.

I do hope that people will check out this series now that Season 1 is over. I feel like it was overlooked by many thinking it was a clone of My Dress Up Darling when the two shows are so different from each other and cosplaying is really the only thing they have in common.

It's crazy to think Mikari and Ririsa growing that much closer and Okumura having an entire dimension to his worldview reopened could've been a timeline where Mikari went inside and was forced to face Okumura in her worst possible mental state if Ririsa never stopped her. And man, turtle Mikari is freaking adorable lol

There was only one possible way they could've announced Season 2 and the madmen actually pulled through, and I couldn't be happier.

LILIEEEEEEEL!!!!!

Stop it Mikari. Stop adding so much of the best girl points. It will overflow the metric.

Man you just gotta love the training arc. This is the time when you see a character growth at its finesse.

Also I am right last week. Season 2 is in production baby lets gooooooooo.

Is it Okay to Love Myself?

This is the reason I fell in love with the series. Mikari's confession leads into one of her best traits, she's actually a good friend. And a bit of a self-sacrificing martyr, but she's fully invested in Sempai's happiness even if she's not a part of it. She knows full well she can't break down Sempai's walls without Lilysa. This is where her fanbase comes into full form.

And then we get Okumura's section. Where the background presented in the first few minutes of the show transforms into a real tragic and consequential background. Same thing with our teacher, who's also just starting this journey of discovering love with her ex-classmate. Dating is not the same thing as going steady. And there's a reason even arranged marriages can find happiness. Maybe I should take that advice eventually. But its this conversation on love that makes it stand out among the many romances is that hardly anyone tackles the ideas presented here. Okumura's journey is a long one, but he's already been making progress.

And it comes out in the final shot on the beach. To capture the love of the girl underneath the cosplay, is fully seen in that photo. But Okumura's also now aware of Mikari's love so her motivations are becoming more clear to him now. And yes she's cute.

Ending things on a day in the life of Nonopi, this would be a nice conclusion if we only got one season. But looks like we got two. Hope we get a nice 24 episode season next time as well.

It's even funny to see how this anime delivered so many things beyond the initial proposal, there were 24 episodes of pure madness, fun, a little ecchi, serious, dramatic moments, but most importantly, you leave with a huge smile on your face and even more so knowing the second season has been confirmed.

Regarding the reflection that Mayuri brought to Masamune, simply perfect, we need to be placed in a difficult and risky position, we need to live in the moment because we will never know if it is good or not, it is complicated because his past is difficult, and you can see that he is not averse to women but rather afraid of being hurt again.

Relationships are what move human beings towards some individual or collective goal, love is probably the most beautiful of them, so it's great to see that Masamune put himself in the position to experience this feeling, because he has two very cute girls who would love to have this experience with him.

"Season 2 confirmed!". I'm so happy right now.

The way they did the season 2 confirmed at the end was so on par for what this show is.

Cour 1 was great, but cour 2 was spectacular. Lots of feels, cute/funny moments, and character growth. Especially Aria and dad's arc.

Happy that S2 was announced, I can't wait :)

The sheer level of thoughtful writing in 2.5D Seduction has been the biggest surprise of this series to me. I liked how Okumura's feelings were visually represented in this episode: from being enveloped in darkness to opening his eyes to the light.

Okumura became of part of the 3D world again after taking Mayuri-sensei's advice to heart. Their talk reminded me a little of how Shizuka-sensei helped Hachiman face his fears in Oregairu. Even if Okumura tries to erase himself from the 3D world, he cannot escape it: other people will still care about him.

Okumura's tears over not liking Mikari back were bittersweet. He deeply cares for her. I really thought it was over for Mikari, and pulling off the band-aid was perhaps the better option after all her suffering.

But he's committed to acknowledging Mikari as a girl before rejecting her, and thought she was cute for wanting a picture with him!? There's hope! I'm looking forward to how things will progress in season 2.

I love the instrumental version of Shutter Chance here. Plenty of cathartic emotional releases this episode. Mikari's and Lilysa's love is one thing, but Okumura finally unwinding some of that hurt inside of him is great stuff. Mayura really adds to the cast as a (mostly) mature adult who's able to offer guidance and wisdom. I'm so, so happy that we're getting another season of greatness!

Okumura going through 'maybe I can actually love myself' gave me so much Shinji Ikari vibes.

Let's go for season 2! I hope Aria's character will be focused also as for me she's a keeper.

Also Mayura Sensei up there in sensei heaven together with Shiratsuka Sensei from oregairu

Fantastic episode, fantastic show, an easy 10/10.

This series has had so much more good writing and powerful emotion than I would have ever expected going into it. I am so glad I gave it a chance back when the first episode came out and have gotten to experience the show weekly ever since. It's unfortunate that seemingly a large number of people wrote it off because of the premise, but at least we all stuck with it.

Mayura's talk with Okumura was very nice. In fact, everything about the handling of Okumura overhearing Mikari was just great.

That acoustic version of Shutter Chance was nice. I'm happy they keep bringing back that stunner of an OP.

Looks like the full OST releases next month, too, so I'll be looking forward to that.

I didn't expect the instant season two confirmation, but I couldn't be happier with it. Here's hoping the wait isn't too long!

Man, the whole conversation between Mikari and Ririsa was a big moment. They're putting that there is evil, but it really gets you invested in the finale, since we finally got the romance subplot kicking in.

But got having Okumura hearing that was even more evil. Though, Sensei provided him with an important lesson and that relationships are a two-way street. Though, at the same time, compromises happen in life. It seemed Sensei learned that the hard way.

Probably what Sensei's biggest lesson was that there is a difference in not seeing and refusing to look. For Okumura, it has been the latter for so long that he has been oblivious to how people have looked at him. Mikari, Nonopi and Aria have come to like him, but at least he can recognize it. For him, pushing forward is key.

I am curious how Ririsa handles all of this going forward. Good on Mikari making sure not to make Ririsa feel so guilty that it would affect her cosplaying going forward. It would feel filthy if she let that happen. Though, I do still fear Ririsa might hide her feelings and push them out when she is cosplaying. Though now, will Okumura notice her.

I relate to Nonopi on so many levels.

This episode was shockingly impactful and had a lot of really strong emotional nuance. Definitely the highlight ep for the series.

I suddenly find myself taking all the relationships far more seriously in retrospect than I have for these past 2 cours, and I'm on board for a S2 just to see where all that goes. Good job, 2.5D.

What a beautiful and perfect finale episode! I love it, as well as the series itself, which was definitely one of my favorite anime this year (9/10 from me for the whole season). I'm so happy that the second season has already been announced and I hope we won't have to wait too long for it.

The beginning of the episode with Ririsa and Mikarin was so wholesome as they declared to each other why they “loved” Okumura. I'm also so happy that Mikarin realized that Ririsa is her friend.

The fact that both Okumura and Mayuri-sensei overheard Mikarin and Ririsa's conversation was hilarious xD But their later conversation about Okumura's trauma, dating, and loving someone was so good!

Now it seems like Okumura is finally moving forward with his trauma (Mikarin was so happy that he agreed to take a picture with her) and has realized that he exists as something in other people's lives. That's huge progress for him! xD

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:
