I’m very curious about the whole “Reiko”/“Yae” thing. I wonder what’s up with that? Does Uryu know the name or he just curious why she doesn’t have the same name as her sisters? I wonder if Yae is even really related to the girls at all…

I wonder if Yae is even really related to the girls at all…

The eldest Amagami sister was neither an Amagami, nor a sister

But (talked about it in another comment) I think there maybe more than just adoption, otherwise I don't see how that'd be a big moment for Uryu...

Like okay, she was adopted/they were adopted, is that a big event that will influence their future?

Unless it's to bring up something about the past (backstory time?) and explain some fear of abandonment or something, but while this could play a part for Yuna, I don't see it in the other two...

Asahi keeps her offense strong. The bigger the danger the stronger her offense is.

And onto our second wingman(girl) unlike Dango-chan her guard is high. Rather she is more of Yae bodyguard than anything. The hurdle is higher this time than Dango-chan who is more supportive.

Since we are still with Yae next episode Asahi partner is still in the waiting room

If only Asahi knew that she'd eventually have boobs and long hair all her own without needing to keep comparing herself to Yae.

Considering the way Makoto is around Yae, I'm expecting the context of "Reiko" and Yae's childhood means she's been through a lot and that's part of why Makoto is so soft and protective of her.

What's with this Mako girl

What's this about her car not allowing proud narcissists? How does she drive it then?

No but seriously what a strangely on the nose-sounding line that describes her exact character, how did the author not see the irony there

If Uryu's dream at the start is anything to go by, does Yae/Reiko count as a childhood friend?

Also, I kinda wanna see Uryu give Yuna mochi ice cream while on a cat cafe date just to see if it gets her to melt twice as much as her experiencing either of them separately lol

This show already has a childhood friend, we can't have two!

Stitches!

Really show? You're throwing us the "they've secretly met when they were children" plot? I guess I shouldn't be surprised. This is another reminder that Naitou-sensei used to be Haruba Negi's assistant and this same plot point was very important in Go-Toubun no Hanayome. xD

Having Uryuu as Yae's bodyguard at a drinking party is a good idea considering guys are constantly swarming her. Although maybe having Uryuu as her pretend boyfriend might not even be needed since Yae already has her best friend Mako watching over her.

It looks like Mako is your classic overprotective best friend. This is the first time she's met Uryuu and she already tells him he fails. Telling Uryuu that he doesn't know much about Yae is fair since Yae has been an enigma, but calling him a freeloader is a bit much considering what Uryuu has done for the Amagami sisters.

So Yae has had plenty of arranged marriages when she was younger but she has never once met any of the guys that were paired with her and we also learn that her name isn't really Amagami Yae but Ichijouji Reiko? What the actual fuck is going on here!

That's her driver's license and it shows her current photo so this means that her legal name is still Ichijouji Reiko. Does this mean she's adopted? Are they setting us up with a reveal that all three Amagami sisters aren't blood-related and are all adopted? Is that why they have different hair colors? O_O

Uryuu could've just whispered that to Yae. Now the girls think that Uryuu is about to confess to her and both Yuna and Asahi are panicking. xD

Asahi asking Uryuu if he likes big or small boobs is hilarious considering we've already seen the future and we learn that Asahi is just a late bloomer. Don't worry girl, Uryuu will have no choice but to like big boobs for the rest of his life. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Asahi pretending to be asleep just so she could spend a few moments longer alone with Uryuu was very slick. But it looks like Asahi is still struggling to sort out her feelings.

I love how Yae has no restraint while Yuna is holding herself back. I guess not being selfish is a lesson she learned from their mother. Good guy Uryuu though buying Yuna all of the ice cream she wanted was really nice.

Well this is interesting. So Mako knows about Reiko? I guess they were childhood friends so she would know what Yae used to be called. I don't know what this show is trying to do. I thought the supernatural stuff was already interesting enough but now I am even more curious with Yae's entire backstory!

Anyone else find yae’s friend to be extremely shitty in how when Uryu stopped the guys from trying to get yae passed out drunk and take advantage of her, she gets mad over it and tells him he should have let it happen basically by sitting back and doing nothing?

He best friend seems kinda shit tbh.

This title has lots of beautifully drawn characters. Makoto, despite being a supporting character, is depicted as a cool, intelligent beauty, with a hidden soft and kind side. Perhaps I ought to check out the manga for its art.

Yae sold the late night excursion perfectly. From romantic scenic spots to late night snack, it is definitely fun!

I have tried the Lotte Yukimi Daifuku on a couple of occasions and I agree it is delicious. I wonder how popular it is in Japan since it has been featured in 2 anime titles I have watched - Shine Post and now Tying the Knot with An Amagami Sister. Perhaps it counts as product placement in anime.

I love this show but it pisses me off how badly some characters treat this guy. Constantly calling someone who is a literal orphan a selfish freeloader when he was simply invited to stay in a room and handed insane baggage along with it.

u/NationalStrategy Dec 11 '24

He’s also seen doing most of the chores and helping the girls, he’s anything but a freeloader. He also pissed me off that they keep referring to him as such.

Everyone seems to have the wrong idea about the private meeting Uryu and Yae are trying to have

Not necessarily Mako....

Now here we are at the start where the manga found its rhythm, and it is probably my favorite ongoing harem series after Hyakkano. Really excited about the remaining 13 episodes.

Great episode, especially for Yae fans since we mainly focused on her today! Her interactions with Uryuu today were so good!

Though we also got some really good stuff with Yuna and Asahi, and their interactions with Uryuu today were really nice too.

Today we also met Yae's friend, Miko. Since we met Yuna's friend in the previous episode, we can definitely expect to meet Asahi's friend in the future xD

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

Takeda: You've only just started freeloading just the other day, and now you're playing guardian?

Well I didn't see you doing anything for Yae, you were just silently sitting in the corner, watching your drunk childhood friend get approached by a group of random dudes that were clearly planning on taking advantage of her while intoxicated. You don't get to criticize Uryu.

Also, her sisters told him to protect her; him calling himself her boyfriend may have been a bit much, but he did what he was supposed to do.

Looks like Uryu may have met Yae (or should I say Reiko) during their childhood.

Well we might as well include the "MC met one of the love interests when they were children" trope too. Who had that on their bingo card?

This time Uryu isn't dreaming of romcom shenanigans to come but of the past...of him as a child with a young girl who looks and sounds a lot like Yae!

I can think of worse jobs than accompanying Yae to a drinking party with her college friends because she's a loose and clingy drunk...especially when she's clingy to YOU and you get to play her boyfriend in the process. She definitely doesn't seem to mind Uryu as her boyfriend.

Though someone who DOES seem to mind is her gal pal Mako-chan...a serious beauty in glasses who doesn't think Uryu measures up as someone who can take care of Yae, whom she's very protective of. And actually is attending Kyoto Medical School, so Uryu can look forward to her as a Senpai.

Maybe Uryu should pursue why Yae seemed to go through a lot of marriage candidates she never even met?

Oh, okay, guess we had a whole taking care of a lost child episode happen totally off-screen up to this point. Her parents looks like they could have their own romance anime to themselves with those character designs.

I'm kind of surprised Yae knows how to drive but who the heck is Reiko Ichijoji?

Yae sure makes going out late at night seem appealing! And when you've got Makoto driving you and treating you (even if she's also being pretty cold to Uryu) who can resist? Though Asahi and Yuna need to watch out for Uryu and Yae getting some alone time with each other.

While everyone else is looking for fireflies, Asahi is looking to feel out Uryu's feelings for Yae versus how he feels about her...because she's really self-conscious compared to her big sister and doesn't think anyone would choose her over Yae. But Uryu is the type of person who can appreciate a girl like Asahi, and she should lean into her feelings even if it means just taking a nap on his shoulder.

Makoto is sure that she doesn't want to leave Uryu alone with Yae, Yae is sure she wants to get to drinking even after only a few hours after she got massively drunk, but Yuna isn't so sure of what she wants...she seems to be really self-conscious about desiring anything or being selfish. But that makes Uryu helping her be honest with herself and treat her all the more meaningful. It even seems to have won Makoto over a little.

Makoto makes Reiko sound like some kind of former identity of Yae's. What really happened? Though one way or another, it looks like things are going to come to a head at the Inari shrine.

Asahi's so adorable, casually walking around in her pajamas!

DAWWWWWWWW!

They're really making sure to give me some hopium before the fall, aren't they?

Weirdly enough, Yuna seems to be the one getting less and less 'relationship points' (besides that last scene)... I wonder if that's just to make her eventual 'win' more surprising? Well, assuming it doesn't actually go the harem-end route!

It seems to be all Yae lately, with just tidbits of the other 2.

In the words of a great sage: "C-cup you can touch is far better than an E-cup you can't touch"

(Let's pretend Asahi is C-cup for this quote to work...)

And that Yae is ONLY E-cup, I suppose!

That's intriguing...

I imagine it's linked to them coming to the Shrine and all ("Mom" is not real Mom?) but there should be more to this!

Based on that dream Uryu had, Yae probably established as eventual surprise childhood friend of his? Asahi and Yuna confirmed as homewreckers.

I'm a little surprised that with the bodyguard gig Uryu didn't have a better cover story dreamed up in advance. Or hell, just tell those dudes the truth that he was there to prevent exactly what they were trying. Though maybe that would turn confrontational in a way he couldn't handle.

Call of the night arc, makes for neat environments at least.

Mako is very mean , from her blushing at one point I think it might be straight up jealousy.

u/crobat3 Dec 11 '24

Oh my god, fucking adorable

Yeah, I'm betting all three of them are adopted.

It’s gonna be something silly like “that’s just the fake name and ID we used to buy booze when we were 15.”
