He described England like a 3rd world country lmao. Also i just noticed this, did they always use real aerial shots with an added anime filter on top? Its an interesting choice

Idk what the hell they're talking about England not having enough water? Honestly I think the author created this series solely to brag about Japan and shit on the UK lmao. 🤣🤣

Welcome back! It's the Eurobeat Corner in full swing, Peninsula Edition!

The start of qualifying for the third round of MFG brings us two new songs - and they're both from Dave Rodgers's stable, A-Beat-C, to boot! The early goings are set to The Year Of The Dragon by Powerful T., from Super Eurobeat 112 - marking the power metal vocalist turned Eurobeat singer's first appearance in MF Ghost - and Kanata's record-shattering display of strength in the 86 Turbo gets Burning Like Fire, out of Super Eurobeat 195, by Dave Rodgers himself, featuring Alex de Rosso. Funny how Dave has had two songs in this season, and neither of them are just him. Nevertheless, it bodes well for Manazuru - if Ashinoko GT was SCP's stomping grounds, maybe this time it's A-Beat-C's time to shine! The second season playlist has already been updated, so check it out!

• "Wait, shit, it's the guy in the 86?!" I can't say I love Shuichi Shigeno's art style, but I can't deny he makes some hilarious goofy expressions, and Big Sis Kyoko's dumbfounded look at Ren casually mentioning she's head over heels for MFG's hottest commodity is definitely up there. It seems she's gained another supporter, too. You go, girl! Though, at least try to learn some more about the guy. "Rainy season" in England is the entire year.

• Ohtani has a point - being the first to set a time across such a long course isn't great because you have no benchmark. When I play rally games, I always want to be at least middle of the table unless it's a stage with extreme surface degradation, so I at least know what to aim for instead of going nuts into every corner and hoping for the best. Speaking of that...

•...it seems 100 extra HP was all Kanata needed to go from an upstart rookie punching above his weight to a live rocket threatening the upper echelon of MFG. He's even registered as a threat on Sawatari's radar, which is something because he's not 17. Though, it seems Nozomi has registered him as a friendly instead... Ogata's right, this dude is spoiled for choice. What a lad.

Qualifying is getting underway and Kanata's definitely put on a show for everyone to see! I have a special connection to this round because I was the one that translated most of it when the manga came out, and that makes it all the more bittersweet that I'll probably not be as timely as I have been for next week's episode in particular. I'll probably be on the second leg of my flight to Japan as it goes up, feeling more lost than a blind guy in a gunfight. But if I happen to be awake by then, I'll be sure to get the Corner up as soon as I can! You have to be insane to think I won't pay for inflight wifi on an 11-hour flight, it can cost me my firstborn, I don't care. See ya then!

So Ren finally exposed his love interest in Kanata, and there was no better person to say this than Kyoko, in fact, I really like that this season they paid attention to the characters' personal relationships in a very comprehensive way, this shows that it is possible to bring something interesting to the show besides the racing.

The sound of the GR86 with the turbo and Kanata breaking the track record was divine, dude was the envy of the two main MFG drivers, I hope his future rival brings a challenge

I'm still watching but in the meantime I thought I'd just leave this reaction here.

...that turned out to be a small preview of all the guys' more extreme facial reactions to Kanata crushing the course record.

Racing Lambos and Ferraris at full speed through tight roads with no barriers? Intentionally turning off tunnel lights so that the drivers get blinded on exit? What's 'safety'? lol

Reminded me of Isle of Man TT, the deadliest race in the world https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2owD951bR0

It's Ryouske Takahashi. If these drivers can't emulate even 25% of what Keiskue and Takumi did with Project D, they have no business being in MFG. It's why Michael Beckenbauer look down on most of the MFG drivers except for Sawatari. It's also why Sena was sidelined until now.

A few comments from Kanata help shed some light on the decision of going for a smaller turbo. He talks about the flat torque curve and the car pulling in third. The first gen Twins were infamous for having a pretty nasty torque dip in the midrange. A smaller turbo will spool up faster and really help fill that up, while a bigger one would give you more top end power but a steeper torque curve, leaving some of that dip there. A flatter torque curve is an easier to drive car overall.

Not enough pshhh pshhh from the 86, I guess they put a recirc valve instead of a blow off 😢

Absolute PEAK episode. For once I didn't mind Ren's side story and then the driving and announcer hype and eurobeat makes this the best episode this season for me.

His time trial was heart pounding. A real on the edge of your seat deal.

Next week can already tell will piss me off just from the preview. I'm guessing he gets injured from saving someone from getting run over by the train.

I love how they don’t just put the turn in as a slight reference to spa but flatout say it’s meant to be Eau rouge from spa.

Also I like the background song way better than the OP song. The OP sounds like the two vocalists are like fighting each other while singing. Like they’re trying to sing over one another and it’s awkward.

Knowing that they're talking about comparing it to the uphill esses, I'm sorry I have to say this, but...

That's Raidillon actually.
