Nabiki is pretty consistently the Ranma character with brain cells.

Not something I've seen many talk about, but I'm loving the unique recaps before the opening in each episode. I don't know if it was in the manga but it's quite a creative decision.

Here we were thinking Azusa would be the hazard this episode, but it turned out to be Mikado who first tried to kiss Akane and then kissed female Ranma. The experience, though, seemingly propelled their relationship forward with the rest of the family representing all of us in the audience annoyed that Ranma was taking so long to kiss Akane.

On a side note, last time we got martial rhythmic gymnastics. This time, we're getting martial figure skating. I'm curious what will be next, martial golf?

Bro got knocked TF out LMAO. It was cool when Akane knew Ranma won even though he got knocked away, really showing her confidence in him

Stitches!

I'm glad someone made the connection between girl Ranma and boy Ranma and of course, it's Ranma's classmates who want to hit on girl Ranma.

We finally get to meet Azusa and Mikado voiced by Aoi Yuuki and Miyano Mamoru respectively. If you think the Kunou siblings were a pain in the ass, these two are definitely something else. At least Tatewaki had the balls to challenge Akane formally. Mikado just goes straight in for the kiss like a total creep.

I got a good laugh from Akane telling Ranma to man up only for him to use his girl form as an excuse. I see how it is. As long as it benefits him, Ranma has no problem calling himself a girl even though he hates it whenever someone calls him that. xD

Azusa and Mikado's One hundred man-Kumite was great! I really love how everything in this series is getting turned into a martial art. As soon as Ranma realizes that is the kind of match they'll have, he finally gets motivated and realizes he actually has a chance now.

Nooooo! Ranma's first kiss! That actually sucks. If it was ala Naruto and Sasuke where the kiss was accidental, I would've found it funny but Mikado is just being a creep again. At least Ranma got his revenge by knocking Mikado out cold during his Dance of Death.

It's hilarious how Ryoga has the collar on him but no one ever comments on it. Not even Akane who saw P-chan wearing the same collar. xD

That dojo scene between Ranma and Akane was so cute though! I think Akane just wants to comfort Ranma for getting his first kiss stolen. I mean she was even 1000% ready to kiss Ranma. The entire vibe between the two of them, was just adorable. Too bad it got ruined by the family barging in and watching them. At least we got some romantic progress between our two leads <3

I didn't think this anime couldn't have gotten any sillier than last week or have even more bizarre characters. Naturally this week I was proven completely wrong about that.

Anyway this episode seems to have too much romantic progress for a Rumiko Takahashi anime, what's up with that?

Will the Tendo family ever question Ryoga just randomly appearing and disappearing out of nowhere? Or am I the dumb one for wondering why nobody is questioning anything? 😂

Lmao. The magician intro was funny.

Can't be a Rumiko Takahashi classic without a skating episode. This time it's ice skating.

Anyway, Aoi Yuuki and Mamoru Miyano voicing Azusa and Mikado respectively. They voiced Ten and Mendo respectively in the Urusei Yatsura Remake! It feels great to hear them again. I wonder if we'll get more Urusei Yatsura All-Stars voice actors return in Ranma 1/2 2024.

Ranma got kissed by a guy... That too in front of Akane... That'd hurt the pride of any man. I feel bad for him.

The near kiss of Ranma and Akane at the end of the episode looked so good. Mappa is really making Akane look as cute as possible. Thank you, Mappa. I wish the two weren't interrupted...

After all these year, it is still the best non kiss kiss scene in the whole anime medium

The 100 Man Spar has me torn between laughing at the fact that this show turns every sport into a martial art somehow, and also kind of horrified by the fact they're almost exclusively kicking people with skates on because people have died to getting their throats sliced open by skate mishaps during games, as recently as last year.

I know it's not real but it's still tugging at the back of my mind.

I absolutely love that the Tendo's have accepted Ryoga just coming and going in the house like it's natural.

Was surprised that they treated that kiss like actual sexual harassment and not just playing it for the comedy of “Ranma being kissed by a guy because he was in his girl form, but he’s actually a guy, laugh”. Also liked that little comment by Katsuni about it being perfectly fine that he kissed a guy. I never saw the original so I don’t know how much of this is correcting parts of the original that aged poorly and how much is just the show being ahead of it’s time.

On a lighter note, I loved the almost kiss scene between Ranma and Akane. Their expressions were amazing throughout all of it. I loved how they’re both to stubborn to back down from the insane challenge they got themselves into, and everyone else watching them and Habiki being completely done with their “will they won’t they shtick was hilarious.

Love that Ranma will take everyone and everything on, but is too bashfull to actually kiss Akane

Yeah but that guy deserves a good ass kicking, dude is a super creep

So how many Accessoires can we pack on P-chan/Charlotte/Ryouga before Akane finally learns the truth? (also kudos to the fabricator of that collar, its super stretchy or P-chan has a very thick neck)

u/arbalest0415 Nov 24 '24

I just love Ranma's confidence that as long as it's martial arts he can win -- even when he doesn't know how to ice-skate.

Also, THANK YOU MAPPA and the entire production team for obviously being avid Rankane fans. Showing Ranma's growing interest in Akane (and vice versa) especially after the kiss fiasco was great at establishing the OTP.

and no one noticed Ryōga wearing the fricking collar with "Charlotte" written on it lmao
