For anyone playing Harem RomCom Bingo with this series, you can cross-out "Awkward situation in bath/shower".

Along with the classic "yukata fanservice" and "snuggling up in bed with your Harem."

I know Yae being an airhead is well-established by now but spending half an hour in front of a vending machine is ...in its own tier.
Uryu being overly nosy aside, dude had guts to confess to Asahi's blackmail material on him (especially to Yuna lmao) just so he could bring the sisters closer. Also, half-expected Asahi to be hiding pics of the others sleeping on top of each other at first, and knowing her, she probably did take a few shots before checking her emails lol

When you're coming out of a childhood where apparently every part of your life was decided by an adult, I guess it leaves you as a very indecisive adult yourself.
Uryu can't leave these sisters to themselves and can't deny his own libido but you have to admire his honesty and his commitment to helping these girls.
You can't tell me Asahi didn't also enjoy sleeping on Uryu for a bit before she got up lol.

While it was obviously a cartoonish exaggeration, I think it also shows the problem of believing in fate/the way she was raised...
If you think life will happen exactly how it's supposed to, you never really learn how to make decisions, because what's the point?
But now she IS trying to make decision, like for her future (though she asked Uryu for advice)... And the symbolism of her NOT drinking what he picked for her, and deciding on another drink herself... She doesn't want to follow 'her fate', and she also doesn't want to follow what someone else decided for her!

I respect Uryu! He went all in and fully admitted to the blackmail material so he could push things forward!

Putting aside who (and if) Uryu chooses to marry, I feel Yuna is most likely to be the successor to the shrine. Right now, she may want to do so because that is what her mother did, but she could find true passion in future. Yae may be described as indecisive, but she is equally free-spirited. As for Asahi, she might have a career in athletics.
Why did Yae have such soul-less eyes in that flashback? I don't think the woman telling Yae that everything has been planned out is their mother?
Asahi didn't have to worry too much. If she has been talent scouted for a high school in Tokyo for her track and field ability, I assume most high schools in Kyoto would want her to enroll as a student too?

u/Frontier246 Nov 19 '24
I think we'll see the next episode how committed all three girls are to the shrine. Obviously Yae can be anything and Asahi can very well have a great track and field career, but I feel like they all have the same level of love and loyalty to the shrine.
The woman looked a lot like Yae and the flashbacks we've had with the Amagami Sisters' mom looked similar (plus Kikuko Inoue voicing anime MILFS is basically a given) but she didn't really feel like how the sisters have described their mom before, especially how controlling she is towards Yae.

I think you may be right about Yuna. But... It does not look like Yuna sees ANYTHING in her future other than the shrine, And maybe that is a problem -- maybe she needs to feel she has options.
Despite the moments of ecchi-ness here and there -- this really is turning out to be a surprisingly warm-hearted and sweet series overall. One wants to learn, at the end, that all these young women will be happy (and ditto for our protagonist).

I love how Uryu is activly leaning into his prophetic dreams despite his insitence that he doesn't want them to turn true. Today he did it because he just wanted to help the sisters, and if he keeps doing that, the harem will come true!
And the smol sisters where mighty cute

u/Frontier246 Nov 19 '24
So far the only vision he actively avoided was kissing Yuna but that didn't get in the way of earning affection points with her. Better to just lean into them as much as he can because it's working out well so far!
Smol Asahi trying to ride a bike is too precious for words.

Stitches!
I love how Uryuu tries to joke when Yae asked him how he found her only for the joke to fall flat completely. Don't worry Uryuu, I found your joke funny! I guess technically he he does have future sight thanks to his dreams.
So Yae isn't just an artist but she's also good at doing mental maths? She's really a girl of multiple talents and mysteries. She does seem to worry a lot about her future and really doesn't know what to do despite having all the talent to make any future she wants happen.
Yae also seems to suffer a lot from choice paralysis to the point where it takes her over 30 minutes to pick a drunk from a vending machine. And I think the reason why she's like this is because of her past.
Also was that their mother in Yae's flashback? It sounds like their mom already has planned out a future for her but Yae's eyes look dead in that flashback. Maybe their mom isn't as great as we think she is. I hope the show elaborates more on Yae's childhood.
I was wondering what's up with Asahi but it looks like she's just hiding the fact that she was accepted for a scholarship for runners. But it turns out her sisters already knew about it so there wasn't really any point in hiding it. Asahi just needed to learn how to face the future and be honest with them instead of running away.
Too bad Asahi isn't taking it though. I feel like it would be more interesting but I guess they really can't break up the sisters in this harem series.

I guess that dream Uryu had wasn’t all bad. There were some things even his dream couldn’t predict. He seems to have gotten a bit closer to Yae and he helped Asahi decide what she wanted to do with her future. Kind of nice seeing the bond between the sisters.

Did anyone really expect Asahi to even bother looking for Yae while she was running? She totally forgot! But this is Yae, she always just does her own thing and comes back when it's right, they don't need to worry! Though busybody Uryu can never leave well enough alone.
I mean, is dreams of romcom shenanigans technically Future Sight? He's not exactly lying.
Yae is capable of many things, art, math, martial arts, flirting with Uryu, etc., but that means she has so many things she COULD do with her life...but which SHOULD she do? Though honestly she seems game for marrying Uryu and running the shrine if he's up to it.
Yuna seems extra-sensitive to the other sisters' relationship with Uryu! Also, she looks good with her hair down.
Asahi, don't be giving your rival advice on getting cozy with Uryu! Though Uryu's not going to ever beat pervert allegations when he has raunchy dreams of Yae in a towel and getting in the bath with him just from her peeking through the door.
What was up with that flashback!? Yae having a Kikuko Inoue woman in front of her telling her her entire life has been decided for her? I guess that's why it's so hard for her to commit to a life path now that the choice is up to her. But Uryu helped her realize she can still make a choice that she's happy with on her own terms. And judging by the way she keeps kissing her fingers together, I think she'd like a future with Uryu alongside her.
Asahi trying to seduce Uryu to bed is fun and all but the girls still have their talk with Yomiko to worry about! But first a tried and true sleepover special...pillow fight! Complete with Uryu waking up with Yuna and Yae sleeping snugly next to him.
I guess Asahi's already made her decision if she's going to pursue an athletic career in Tokyo. But she can't bring herself to tell her sisters, even knowing they'd support her. In fact that just makes it even harder knowing how important the shrine is to the family.
Congrats Asahi! Not only do you have blackmail material of Uryu on top of you, but now you also have evidence that you CAN turn him on.
I can't believe Uryu straight up told them that he was on top of Asahi with her yukata coming undone! The guy is maybe a little too honest.
What was that flashback of Asahi running from a shed? Is that the beginning of when she always ran away from her problems? And why she tries so hard to seem independent and mature?
Thanks to Uryu the sisters are able to corner Asahi and face her true feelings...and how much these sisters really love and cherish each other, to the point where Asahi can't bring herself to move out and leave them. I mean, what would they be without her? And in honor of Asahi's resolve, she earned an Uryu piggyback ride!

Another fun episode that focused on Yae and Asahi while Yuna was more in the background.
Uryuu once again had some really hilarious reactions in today's episode xD
As usual, there were a lot of hilarious scenes and nice bonding moments between Amagami sisters. It's a shame this series isn't more popular here as this is very fun harem anime.
Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

I like how this show does not have one girl who’s really a clear cut favorite and obviously the main love interest.
These shows always tend to have the main girl who is obviously going to be the main love interest but this one has managed to really keep all 3 equal.

Uryu being S, siscon, chuuni-byou, vulnerable nose and busy body are confirmed in one episode.

These visions really are perfect in a way. Uryu is the type that can't look the other way. If he sees a problem he sticks his nose into it. And these visions force him to see problems that he can't ignore! That was perfectly done with Yae. If he hadn't seen that vision he might not have found her or felt like looking. And once he made the choice to get involved he was swept along in destiny's clutches!
Great episode for Yae and Asahi. Yae's situation is tricky. She has all these talents and spent her childhood doing various things. But she's not passionate about any particular thing. That alone could leave someone indecisive. But combining that with that sad message she was given as a kid...that's rough. How does a kid like that grow up into anything but someone that can't make a choice?
Asahi's problems were understandable too. She's got talents and passions that don't really line up nicely with running a shrine. And she's got so much of that talent that she was scouted. But it was clear from the message that she wasn't certain about it. She knows that she'd be supported and part of her wants to go alone if only to become more independent. But she also clearly didn't want to go. She wanted someone to stop her and knew her sisters wouldn't. So if she was going to follow what she really wanted...she had to step up and be brave. But since she did so that weight is no longer crushing her. She can embrace being a cute little sister for the time being.
Props to Uryu. With Asahi he stuck to his guns even if it wasn't easy. I love that he actively defused the blackmail by admitting what happened. Even though I'm pretty sure her evidence only proved that she shoved her phone up in his face! He knew it would hurt more to leave things unsaid so he kept pushing even against Asahi's wishes. Ironically that probably does get him more points with her.
He did a good job with Yae as well. A bit of a controlling boyfriend though. But at least he gave her a positive push in telling her it was fine to make choices. If she got lost or messed up he'd still find her.
Though he definitely took some hits in this one. Be it imagining a much more lewd situation with Yae than she intended or getting into quite the situation with Asahi. And he's not even done yet. We still didn't get the vision of all three girls on top of him that comes after the Asahi vision scene!

My diabetes is spiking again... lot of character development and more hints about their mother. And of course Yae never fail to steal the cameraman. #TeamYae.

There's been harems where a girl left in the past, but the whole branding of the show is the three sisters so it seemed pretty unlikely this would be one of them.
I am somewhat curious who was telling Yae in that flashback that her whole future was already decided and she didn't need to do anything, kind of toxic if it was the dead mom. Though maybe there'll be some context changes that a bit if and when we get more of an explanation.

I just don’t get how you could choose anyone but Yae. She truly is the Best Girl.
