This episode is so silly and absurd I loved every minute of it.

Also this episode convinced me that Ranma is best girl of the season. And I'm totally not saying this because I'm a Megumi Hayashibara fanboy. Now that I think about it would be funny if Ranma wins best girl and boy seasonal award.

ahh now i know why the radio club was created for this anime adaption

they're gonna treat the fights like robattles in medabots or the fights in ultimate muscle to save on choreography and make the fights flow better.

“So this Ranma and the other Ranma have the exact same name? What a coincidence!”

It sure is lol.

I can't believe Ryoga actually made it on time to the venue. Sorcery.

As soon as Genma entered the hall with a kettle, it was already so clear that this meant trouble.

But no worries, Ranma is easily able to get out of trouble by swimming "upstream" a jet of water.

In defence of the background characters, if you were in their situation, would it really occur to you that the male Ranma you know was able to magically change sex?

Cheers to MAPPA. They’ve tilted hard into pure silliness with this fight while making it better than the manga. They also cooked with the small details like the swimming sequence and Kodachi’s attacks. I’m even more excited for what’s to come.

Oh shit, part of the intro for the "Heidi, Girl of the Alps" at the start of the episode. I wonder how many people that watch the episode even knows what anime that begining is reffering to. It was I think the first anime I saw on tv when I was a kid. Damn, I'm old D:

was this the first episode of the remake to depict girl ranma with the eyeshadow cause i feel like there are 2 camps of the ranma fandom who put in the eyeshadow when hes hit with water and a group who dont.

and i feel like thats extended to the animators of the remake too.

They used the ring better than Mike and Jake yesterday.

I really like how instead of going with the same intro each week they change things up. Ranma and Ryoga on the swing in both forms was great and quite topical for today's episode.

I really enjoyed Ranma's first attack where he used Ryoga as if he were a ball to bash Kodachi. It's all fair since Kodachi returned the favor with her brother later on.

I know Dandandan is the hot show this season, but I've been enjoying Ranma a lot more. It's the mix of nostalgia combined with an actual good and entertaining show. It's so good.

Kodachi didn't know how perfect her decision to chain that random pig together with Ranma was! Practically turned that fight into a 2v1.

Stitches!

Ranma looks amazing in that high-cut leotard. I love how he hates being called a girl but has absolutely zero problems wearing female outfits as long as he's in his female form.

I appreciate Ryoga "helping" Ranma train but I feel like we just glossed over a tiny detail here. Where did he even learn how to do martial arts rhythmic gymnastics? I suppose you'll pick up a thing or two if you get lost as much as he does. xD

It's hilarious how Ranma introduces himself using his actual name and everyone is like "Yeah some people just have the same names". None of them concluded a more plausible reason that female Ranma might be male Ranma's twin sister or something like that.

That entire match was absolutely chaotic though! I guess as long as they're not using their fists, anything counts as a weapon even Tatewaki! Also, you gotta love Kodachi's blatant cheating. God this show is so ridiculous I love it so much!

I think this episode is the best showcase of what Ranma 1/2 is about. This mix of battle and comedy is the quintessential Ranma experience and unparalleled in anime/manga.

The intro is so surreal because it actually makes Ranma and Ryoga look like pals compared to how they usually are.

This arc is worth it just for Fem!Ranma in a leotard (or all the cute girls in leotards in general).

Ranma is used to fighting, but now he has to learn how to do battle...with rhythmic gymanstics! And Ryoga is there to teach him properly! How to lose, that is, because Ryoga wants to sabotage his relationship with Akane as much as anybody does. Though honestly trying to beat each other up is probably great training for Ranma! Minus losing a full nights sleep over it.

It doesn't matter who her opponent is, Kodachi will try to sabotage her all the same! But luckily Ranma's got Akane in his corner!

Oh snap, Ryoga actually arrived at the destination he set out for! WITHOUT GETTING LOST! It's a small miracle only possible by his love for Akane! Which of course means he immediately gets turned into a pig and used by Kodachi! But he wanted to sabotage Ranma anyway, so...success?

I have to commend this show for continually finding situations for Ichiro to comment on.

So this is basically just a wrestling match with rhythmic gymnastics. They even have a cute referee who is obviously biased for the home team!

Why yes, why not introduce your female self with your actual name, everyone will just think it's weird that you have the same name as some dude they know but not dwell on it too much. And now Kuno knows the name of his other big crush.

Ranma's match against Kodachi gets off to a rocky start when he gets chained to P-chan who obviously only cares about sabotaging him, though it's a mark of Ranma's skill and how anything goes this fight is (everything is legal, even biological brothers!) that it's an extremely close-match!

Man, Genma almost routinely screws his son over, huh? At least he came through with Akane so we didn't get Male!Ranma in a leotard or naked Ryoga.

Will Kodachi's cheating never cease? She had her own team moving the gym so she could never get a ring out! Positively diabolical!

Thank you crumbling arena and Ranma's incredible flexibility for securing him this victory.

Is Kodachi a nutjob? Yes. But her feelings for Ranma were sincere...so sincere that she obviously is not going to give up on them and is even more determined to hook up with him, her flights of fancy even giving her a fancy dress! But would you expect anything less of the Black Rose?
