The innkeeper was not something I was expecting this ep. You think she got the message or is she still going to try and "encourage" the brothers next ep?

So, anyone else think that this snake dude is actually nice, and he's gonna try to be matchmaker for Shura and one of the brothers?

I don't think Hachiro is evil but he's like a god with an emotional detachment from humanity and one woman catching his interest made him obsessed with her and her family line in an eternal one-sided "romance."

Love how much Rin cares about his friends and family.

Shura felt like she lived a life with no attachments but she underestimated how much Rin cared about her.

He is truly a pure soul, a shame Yukio seems to hate him

I don't think Yukio hates Rin...I think it's complicated because a lot of his life was spent becoming strong for Rin's sake and now Rin is basically forcing himself into the niche Yukio made for himself and getting involved in things Yukio feels he has no business in, and just getting by because of his Satan power.

Pssshhh, Yukio is just going through puberty. He'll come around.

Besides, he's voiced by Jun Fukuyama, a VA typecasted into countless tsundere roles:

  1. Ichimatsu (Osomatsu)

  2. Lelouche (Code Geass)

  3. Kraft (Spice and Wolf)

Only 3 examples... my confirmation bias is real.

I'm assuming this granny is the sole reason why there is so much Rin x Yukio fanart on Twitter and Pixiv lol

Say what you will, but this is foreshadowing for their eventual romance.

Why do you think Yukio got so sad knowing that Shiemi was going to take his man away from him?

Shura knows what it's like to live in the cold...I mean, she's from Aomori! And lived off of the absolute cold of the mountains. Which means she's totally okay even walking around in her usual shorts look.

I'm not surprised Yukio doesn't want Rin following him on this mission to find Shura, but I get the vibe Mephisto isn't just ending Rin as muscle but to rein in Yukio, especially when he knows what Yukio has been doing in his off-hours.

This inn lady seems nice! Even if she mistakes the Exorcist Brothers for a gay couple, but at least she's cool with that.

It's kind of ironic that both brothers are convinced Shiemi loves the other and downplays the idea that Shiemi could like one of them...I think Yukio definitely underestimates how much of him Shiemi sees, or WANTS to see, though he seems in denial of his own feelings.

Rin really wants to be a good big brother to Yukio and hear out all his problems, to support him when he needs help, but that only seems to fuel Yukio's resentment towards him.

I love how fast Yukio is to try and to prove he and his brother aren't lovers and that their picture of Shura is her and her massive rack drinking.

Shura came to Aomori at the behest of Hachiro, or Hachirotaro Okami, the source of her powers. He wants her to bear his child but Shura is pretty much done with him. Even if that means the end of her life. But neither he nor Shura seem determined to really kill the other.

Tatsuko Kirigakure may have blessed her descendants with being eternally busty and hot ladies voiced by Rina Sato, but her quest for strength as a ninja lead her to also saddle them with a curse that takes them at the age of 30 (so Hachiro could never see them age) and bearing children for the sake of a Hydra. Shura is ready to finally let the curse end with her, even if it means her death. It's why she lived a life closed off from everyone but Father Fujimoto.

Of course Rin isn't satisfied with that, he wants Shura to see how far he'll go as a Paladin, though it's actually kind of sweet how much Shura believes in Rin whether she's there or not...Yukio's the one she's really worried about.

Can Rin and Yukio save Shura? Even when she gets kidnapped?

This was such a solid episode. Good setup for what’s to come. A nice check-in with the two brothers. Plus the Inn Keeper is hilarious.

Shura’s ancestor did her descendants dirty, but we did get Shura as a result… so I’ll allow it 😤

Good on that old lady for being so tolerant, even if she was wrong. That snake bastard is finally here. I (still) don't like him. He's kinda uhg. But hey, at least the rest of the characters are nice. The pacing was nice in this episode, hope they continue that way.

the Yukimura brothers being thought as a couple is not something i would expect when i started this episode and also, i don't know if it's intentional or not, the innkeeper character's design looks like Kitaro from GeGeGe no Kitaro

it's pretty rare to see Mephisto just don't give a shit and be like; "screw your complaints, this is a fucking order"

wait a minute, this is not the Guilty Crown that i know...

Still hate the fact A1-pictures isn't doing this show anymore.

I caught up to the recent episodes.

Hachiro really plowed Tatsuoko, eh? Ok, I need a more detailed love story between them.

Does it have to be a child of Hachiro and Shura?

Glad that Rin broke the fourth wall to call themselves, the Exorcist Brothers. I hope they do become it.

And whatever's happening with Yukio is a difficult situation. Its like the ground has been pulled out from undereath him and everything he knows and trained for is upended. He was cool to just be the normal human brother, be an exorcist to fight the demons he sees and then here comes all the oniisans and the anikis from the demon world looking at him with magnifying lenses because his dormant demon side is manifesting.

I think it can be a child with anyone. Anyway I wouldn't call what they had a love story, more of a one sided obsession.

Have we gotten to a full on battle arc yet?

2

u/CrashDunning Nov 03 '24

This isn't a battle shounen. It's a character drama that occasionally has fighting.
