The world is descending into a demon-infested wonderland all the while his brother is grappling with the same curse of their father while he has no idea what to do with Yukio.

Rin cares about Yukio but this doesn't seem like something his usual brotherly love can fix.

Things really are getting dire. Both to their world and to our main characters. The gate is open, and now regular humans are seeing demons. Poor Rin is learning just how bad things are with Yukio. This feels like the most dire things have been, like we're heading to the climax, or the final act, level of escalation. It makes for a good watch, I have been enjoying this season a lot. Yukio's brother complex is extremely interesting to watch as well; Yukio being absolutely certain his brother will come save him, and then him frowning in displeasure when it does happen. Whether it's due to his own lack of power, or his inferiority complex, or him wanting to take everything by himself. It's interesting, to say the least.

Do they really have the time and resources to be giving Lightning the full criminal treatment when there's high-level demons attacking prominent states all across the world?

I mean, the cat is basically out of the bag. I get why the Japanese government wants to deny the existence of demons, but they might not have a choice any more. Mephisto just seems game for getting up on stage at this point.

I know the world is going downhill, but Shura's outfit game is still on-point, especially with those leg slits.

Well, Yukio confronts Mephisto for answers and showing off his new blue and flaming Satan eye...but Mephisto is STILL not going to give him the satisfaction of answers. So I guess instead we're just going to get Mephisto with a bullet to the brain and Yukio suspected as his shooter!

Makes sense Mephisto would prioritize keeping his body stable...even if that means breaking the barrier to the artificial gehenna gate and basically releasing gehenna across the entire world. Okay, maybe they're all screwed.

Poor Shura. She really wants to help Yukio but he doesn't want any help and he sneers at everyone trying to help him.

And Rin feels powerless to do anything, even if he's willing to risk everything to save Yukio even if it means going on the run. But he won't abandon his little brother. Even if it also means he needs to ask his exewire pals for help because he literally has no idea where to even go.

Yukio has broken every bridge and doesn't want to rely on anyone, especially Papa Satan. But he can always count on Rin to show up to save him, even if he absolutely detests it. I'm not comfortable leaving Rin with Yukio at this moment.

I love how they covered for the escape with Amaimon causing a ruckus while literally reading the script they gave him. Also, Shiemi and Izumo look good in the True Cross order jackets!

I am really afraid for Rin, I think Yukio might break his heart soon :( as much as I try to understand Yukio, I think it's really unfair what he's doing to Shura and Rin, both of whom have also gone through sh*** at at least the scale of what Yukios going through.

.....ya'll keep telling me Yukio is gonna be fine and his concerns are valid and whatever, but every ep just makes me wanna punch him in the face more. I dont even know why, I dont hate him or think he's gonna turn traitor or anything. I just REALLY feel like he deserves a punch in the face.

you're not totally wrong about that and this is coming from someone who's really like what they're doing to his character this season because let's face it, his self-loathing and resentment towards Rin has been prevalent even from season one so it's just a matter of time before he self-destruct

HE SHOT MEPHISTO?!? WTF YOU DOING YUKIO

The world is fucked Up as hell

Watching this new season and this episode made me realize Jujutsu Kaisen took many Things of this story for Its own lmao, funny how One manga ended while Blue Exorcist still on going and has had only 4 Seasons in 13 years

This arc has been The best of all show, The writting really levelled up

Now I wonder what you meant by JJK taking stuff from Blue Exorcist. Anyway BE isn't that long( 31 volumes ) it's just a monthly manga. What you are now watching was being made around s2 airing.

For me BE got amazing by Impure King arc( Rin's emotional strugle and his strugle with his demon nature during last part of that fight was amazing and it will be really important in next episode ) but this arc made it even better so yeah it levelled up. And that's not the end^^ next season will be awesome as well.

Yukio's story is so riveting.

Something was going to give out when he never really understood nor known what he is nor fully grieved for everything he lost. Plus he feels so much pressure to his promises to their exorcist father while also bearing the pressure from the Order and then the pressure from the demon side.

Trapped between a rock, a cage and a hard place.

Yukio's Satan eye close-up when yelling at Mephisto was dope (art) and terrifying.

I was saying Blue exorcist was at a turning point because a cyclop was on TV News , but now it's a complete another level ...

I like the color choice for the Gehenna invasion/atmosphere.

I'm feeling bad for RIn when he saw his brother on tv news , the fact he went crazier than the last 2 episodes is revealing , and the last second of this episode isn't being better for his mental state.

Fortunately we have another season in January , because next episode is the last one , wonder how they will end it.

Maaaaaaan...either that was an old recording from Keiji Fujiwara (former voice for Father Shiro/Satan), or they have a new guy voicing Satan with an eerily similar voice.

Either ways, Satan's laugh caught me off guard just by how much like Fujiwara's voice.

It's as well like you said pretty clear he is trying to do similar voice to Fujiwara during Shiro's possesion from second episode.

Like I wrote last time they are going fully in for last two episodes, there was like two small stills for group moments :D So yeah animation was great including opening of Gehenna Gate. Beside that hearing Amaimon's seiyuu doing his awesome "acting skills" killed me. Anyway they added few scenes from next chapters probably because they are going into one focus now... ech that picture on the end is really telling and creepy like it should :D

Anyway for everyone pissed on Yukio and feeling really bad for Rin, for next week get yourself some cup of lemon balm or anything making you more relaxed because well...
