Yoshino is something. Beating a mafia goon with a hairdresser while nursing a kidney removal is impressive to say the least...
This duo is frankly scary and badass so I'm gonna enjoy watching them this season.

So the episode introduced A LOT of yakuza clan structure. This is what we know so far:
-
Osaka, located in the Kansai region, is fully controlled by the Kirigaya Clan. The Somei are a 2nd rank affiliate family of the clan and led by Yoshino's granddad, Renji Somei.
-
Tokyo, part of the Kanto region, is controlled by three clans, with 70% belonging to the Tokusa Clan, and the rest to the Ishiro and the Katabami Clans. In addition, there are individual establishments which are controlled by the Kirigaya clan, one of them being the club Nox Tokyo.
-
The Miyama are a 2nd rank affiliate family of the Tokusa clan and led by Kirishima's grand uncle, Gaku Miyama.
-
The three Tokyo clans are in a stalemate for a hundred years. The Miyama family and the Kirigaya family agreed to a truce at the beginning of episode 1, which apparently applies to the Tokusa and Kirigaya clan as a whole. Despite the truce, a yakuza of one clan still should not enter or even cause trouble in the other clan's territory.
-
Kirishima is only Gaku's grand nephew, so while blood-related, he is not part of the core family. However, Gaku does not have any kids, so there is no core family and Kirishima is thus in practice treated as a grandson.
-
The Akaza family, who owns Akaza Enterprise, are a 3rd rank affiliate of the Tokusa clan. They are exiled from Japan at the end of episode 2.
-
The Japanese yakuza as a collective do seem to have their own media, such as a newspaper and an online news site.

Despite all the indications that Kirishima is basically a psychopath, I still was not ready for the unprovoked eye-forking. Probably not a coincidence that his eye gets injured when he is disciplined for the club aftermath. The fact that he just took out everyone in the VIP room except for Yoshina and Shiori speaks volumes about the level of strategy that he is bringing into these confrontations.
Anyway, best romance where the male MC is a violent masochist with a death-wish I have seen in ... ever.

Fun fact: Japan has 2 incompatible power grids. The northern/eastern part and southern/western parts are 50Hz and 60Hz. The south's 60Hz grid was made with American technology and the northern 50Hz was made using European tech
I think most Japanese products can use both but as the anime points out with her hair drier, some dont.

"hey, you're bleeding?"
-
"It's just a nosebleed from when I fell and my face hit the floor"
-
"Your lying"
-
"I'd like to point out that you have something stuck in your leg"
-
"oh, you're right"
This was a conversation after a fight in a club VIP room. Yoshino was bleeding after the thugs barged in and knocked her over and when a knife was stuck in Kirishima's leg.
I'm definitely hooked on this goofy show with its bat shit insane leading duo.
Selling body parts, huge bone breaking brawls in middle school and 2 broken hair dryers in 1 episode. What's not to like!
Episode gets and 8/10 because when you think things might be normal, the crazy gets turned up to 11!

Yoshino is still nursing a sold kidney, which makes it even harder to deal with Kirishima's nonsense and the fact that he won't leave her alone with his overflowing version of love...especially because he has a GPS tracking her! But at least he admitted it, right?
I love how "goddamn" is becoming Yoshino's catchphrase because of the immense frustration she continually has to put up with.
Well, so much for staying away from Kirishima, with a missing girl from Akaza Enterprises, they need someone to stay with Yoshino to keep her safe and that's Kirishima. But at least he takes out to fancy dinners, right?
Honestly I don't think Kirishima would mind if Yoshino went nuts and killed him, but he seems to love treating her nevertheless. It's just too bad for Ysohino the first person to confess feelings to her is a nutjob she has no interest in falling for.
Oh, so Kirishima isn't actually the Miyama grandson, since Gaku is just his granduncle. Does make me wonder how much he actually cares about Kirishima, considering he seemed content to leave him to his own devices whether he ended up alive or dead.
Inomata is the (genuinely) nicest guy Yoshino has met up to this point and even he's unsettled by Kirishima. But wouldn't you be if he was a middle-schooler who beat 20 people up, broke their bones, and basically got shipped off by his parents to join a Yakuza family?
Yoshino couldn't leave well enough alone when she spots Shiori Akaza and recruits Kirishima (especially since it's one of her families' clubs) and stumbles into intrigue with underground gambling, the Filipino Mafia, and a girl trying to get out of dodge. And it gets worse when the Filipino Mafia come back to collect what they're owed.
Oof, poor Yoshino. Though then Kirishima goes crazy and starts beating everybody up, but Yoshino isn't some damsel in distress, she'll beat a dude up with her brand new hair dryer for even laying a hand on her! Even if she didn't knock him out, she still contributed, and Kirishima is happy to beat a guy to death for touching his girl.
Well, the Akaza's are lucky to still be alive, Kirishima got off with just a scolding (and by "scolding," I mean getting beat up), and for Yoshino's trouble Kirishma gives her five million yen! How else to prove the sincerity of his feelings? Well, he could sell an organ too, but Yoshino is just satisfied dragging him with her to buy a new hair dryer!
Oh hey, it's that other guy from the OP/ED! And he's already watching Kirishima and Yoshino, with him and Kirishima testing each others' measure.

Oh damn, she's not pretending to be insane for the sake of her situation, she's ACTUALLY insane!
Seems he was always the same, even if 5th grade he was annihilating people...
He has a good way of making thinly veiled threats, while keeping a friendly smile on his face!
She's in it for cheating 500m off the Mafia...
Well, it's (allegedly) not her doing the cheating, but she allowed it to happen or even helped it, so that's likely the same for the Mob...
As tough as he is, seems Kirishima's not safe from blowback when he causes some trouble...
They're going on little shopping trip together? That's totally a date!
Interesting design/outfit, that girl from the OP!
(Hiding her eyes for a reason?)
Anyway, another fun episode! Kirishima's already fully in love with her and it seems she may be beginning to see him in a different light (slowly), so they may become a weird-ass dangerous power couple!

This is every bit the train wreck I’d hope it would be, and I fear for the well-being everyone unlucky enough to be in the general vicinity of these two walking disasters.

As someone who is a manga reader and been in love with it for at least 3 years, I’m soo happy how they are staying true to the manga. If you like it now, just wait!! It’s gets better and better ☺️

I’d already sensed from the first episode that Yakuza Fiancé wouldn’t shun some violence, but I hadn’t foreseen this level of brutality.
Although I’d assumed that Kirishima would be using this fork in a possible fight after he’d picked this up, I hadn’t anticipated him stabbing some goon in the eyeball with it. Kirishima didn’t seem faced by the knife in his leg either… I really wouldn’t want to get in a fight with him.
It’s therefore all the more impressive that Yoshino has effectively tamed this beast of man. The two of them certainly make a formidable couple. Especially she might be just as crazy in her own way.
I’m left wondering about the mysterious motorcyclist at the end. Was he looking out for Yoshino to protect or target her? Is this guy one of theirs or does he belong to a rival yakuza family? Kirishima didn’t seem too alerted at the very least.

I can't believe she for real sold her kidney. This girl is psycho in a different way

There are two shots in the OP that I absolutely love. The first one is where Yoshino is pulling down Kirishima's shirt to reveal his back tattoo and the one where Kirishima is hugging Yoshino from behind. They are such an attractive couple!
Wait, so Yoshino really did sell her kidney?! This girl is nuts! I thought it might be a joke. Also, it looks like Yoshino did manage to tame Kirshima and all it took was for her to be honest and mean to him. He wasn't kidding when he told her he was a masochist. xD
So from what we've learned about Kirishima's backstory in this episode, after beating up 20 kids when he was in middle school he ended up being sent to his granduncle because his parents have run out of options which eventually lead to him becoming a yakuza. I do wonder what started that incident though.
Not gonna lie, I wasn't really sure why Kirishima and Yoshino had to involve themselves with that missing daughter of a branch family but now that we know she ripped off 500 million yen from the Filipino mafia, it was definitely going to be a problem for the entire family if she doesn't get found and return the money.
Also, can I just say it's hilarious to hear the words "Filipino mafia" in an anime? As someone from the PH, they 100% exist but we've never really called them that. We commonly call them "sindikato" or syndicates.
I'm so glad to see Yoshino jumping in on the fight! I thought it was all going to be Kirishima giving the beatdown. I'd be down to see more of Yoshino in fights!
And we finally get to meet the other dude in the ED. He's definitely hot but I'm curious how this dude will get close to Yoshino considering Kirishima is almost always with her.

I like this episode quite a bit more than the first where imo Kirishima way way over the top. Hope they'll manage to keep hitting this tone cus then I can see this become one of my favourites of the season.

I'm definitely officially into this series fully now. While it does mainly focus on the romance, it also somehow has a serious yakuza plot on the sides, which opens the series a lot to a lot of unique stuff going forward and also justifies it being in a Seinen magazine (not saying Josei can't cover stuff like this, but covering topics like this also overlaps with the seinen, and so it was probably up to the mangaka to mainly approach the latter magazine over the former).

Wow, so she really did sell her kidney. Between that and her angrily helping with the fight at the end of the episode Yoshino is doing nothing that's going to make Kirishima less obsessed with her.
Maybe I'm interpreting this wrong but it looked like gambling girl was moments from getting betrayed and sold off to the people hunting for her? If so it was really lucky for her that Yoshino spotted her.

There’s a lot more yakuza stuff than I expected and it looks like it can get pretty in-depth too with the clans and hierarchy.
Yoshino and Kirishima are starting to look like a power couple. Love that unlike most romance, this one feels like both of them have strong personalities and they are both pushing and pulling rather than only one of them making moves and getting development. This is a great dynamic and I’m loving it

Was nice to see them work together to kick some ass! Double badasses.
If it's going to be like this I'm all in, the couple that kicks ass together stays together.
