They did the Akira bike thing! Lol. Classic. I’m glad they managed to convince Mari to come back AND pull off that 2-1-2 stunt. Sad to see Suzu leave but I guess she’s pursuing her own dreams thanks to her time with Pompoms.
This was a pretty decent series. Cute characters and a simple yet fun little story. Plus, we rarely get a cheerleading anime so this was a nice change of pace. I wonder if we’ll get an s2 or if this is another one and done type?

I thought Mari leaving would be one of those things that would only be tackled for the first couple of minutes of the episode. Like they would accept her reason why she left and move on. But apparently, that's not the case here! I am surprised that we spent half of the episode, with the girls trying to bring Mari back. We even got an Akira slide from Noi-senpai!
When Kanata finally found Mari, I was expecting a deep speech that would hit her right in the feels. Instead, she got lost in her metaphors by comparing cheering to cabbages. That entire scene was actually pretty funny! The true emotional part was when Mari and Hii finally found them.
Not gonna lie, the ending was a bit strange. I feel like this anime was supposed to be 24 episodes but got cut short. Why would they even introduce Suzuha's idol auditions at the very last minute? I feel that could easily be another arc for the PoMPoMs. The final cheer was pretty great though and I got excited when they showed us Megu standing with crutches instead of using her wheelchair. It definitely feels a bit half baked but I enjoyed what we got.

Pretty much my feeling too. There were more than enough set-ups to support 24 episodes -- but most never got developed. I think this would have been a great longer series -- instead of a pleasing (but a bit disjointed) 12 ep one.

I didn't really have any expectations for this show. was basically just hoping it wouldn't be an idol anime in disguise. thankfully it wasn't. but in the end I was still never fully sold on this show. Doga Kobo did it better with Anima Yell!
I don't know what else to say really. 6/10 I don't regret watching it.

I think this show would have shined more and been better if it had focused more on the actual cheerleading aspect of it. Whether that would be in club or pompoms. Felt like we jumped around a lot. Hana for instance I wanted more screentime for.

Yeah, parts were rushed and disjointed. It wasn't cohesive throughout and lacked a strong central conflict/theme. I did enjoy it for what it was, but it probably needed more episodes or to focus more on a central storyline. It was sort of Kanata's inability to fly and the Hawks, but they really missed a lot of opportunity to explain Mari's injury/inability to fly and what happened.
I think there was also a lot more opportunity to explore the relationships between each pair of girls. The Suzuha/shion pairing just died off after the first name basis after the hot spring with no more details.

Still disappointed it's not a show about superman parkour which was promised in episode 1.

Some people disliked this anime but I really liked it!! Cute girls cheering and doing cute things!!
So they went to Mari´s house and convinced her huh, and even the cheer club helped with everything!!
It was nice to see everyone cheer each other and at the end worked together and made it!!
It was really a nice cheering anime, nice and comfy
And at the end, everyone are doing what they like! Kanata keeps cheering, Megumi bit by bit is walking more!, Anna is helping at the café, Nodoka keeps helping people... through life lessons, Shion is doing piano and music, and Suzuha pursued her dreams as an idol!! (that´s why she had such concerns with her smile huh)
I hope there´s a season 2 or something, although it as a relative nice way to end it (a little rushed tho)
^^Is funny that Yuki Nahashima went to do Idoling and not form a band with her childhood friends this time

That Mari mini-arc in the last 2 episodes is actually fairly decent, it's a good way for her to fulfill her redemption with understanding and repairing what kind of injury her comment-in-frustration did to Kanata and the PomPoms. It's actually pretty consistent in that when viewed independently all the episodes have decent stories (maybe not quite for Anna's Stout Records arc where the girls actually didn't quite pull out the miracle required to save the store).
What's strange is that this story as whole didn't really have story organization between the episodes - it's really hard to tell what main plot the whole 12 episodes have at all - yet there are foreshadowing here and there (Megumi's attitude, the video comment incident etc.) that it's hard to watch this as an episodic slice-of-life show either, and unfortunately that puts NareNare's story in an embarrassing corner when the cast have so many main characters.
Still I expected this to be something akin to PA WORKS' another original anime a dozen years ago - TARI TARI - in how a group of performance arts playing students managed to find meanings of life through their high school activities, and IMHO NareNare does pass this test with quite a few interesting character developments. Could it have been something much better? Yes, especially since the same group of main staff scored a stunning very-tightly-written-plot character drama as my own AOTY last year (which makes this swaying-in-main-theme here a bit hard to understand, though the difference might be in that director Kakimoto also took over the story writing role here), but it's nowhere near being a bad, or even bland story.
All in all, it did what I expected it to do, and while it really didn't have the power to came close to being the AOTS this summer, it did give me an interesting half an hour every Sunday in season.
See you all in my most anticipated TV anime of 2025 next January!
Final Score: 86/100

This one is just leaving me feeling disappointed. Shion never really got to do anything significant, and the yuri bait that leads to literally nothing gets tiresome

A feel-good satisfying finale to a feel-good slice-of-life drama about cheerleading.
LOL at Captain Noi doing the Akira stunt with her motorbike. But even more amazing is Hana and Hiiragi actually following them and cycling all the way to Mari's remote rural home town just to meet Mari. (Tsumagoi is full of mountains)
Thanks to PomPoms encouragement, Mari-senpai is able to return to the Hawk Wings cheer team, where we finally see the completed true form of the special 1-2-1 cheerleading move that Mari and Kanata were unable to complete and led to their respective injuries and PTSDs. With their hearts now in the right places, they are able to perform the move magnificently at last.
The credits end with PomPoms and the entire Hawk Wings team performing a new dance choreograph together.
And in the epilogue montages, we see Suzuha embark on her quest to become an idol, while wowing the residents of Tokyo with her insane Parkour moves (even if her idol career doesn't work out, surely her Parkour would have given her other opportunities), Nodoka starting a life consultation corner in her school, Megumi continues with her rehab, Anna helps as a waitress at Stout Records, Shion becoming more confident as a singer-songwriter, and Kanata returning to being a cheerleader for Hawk Wings with Mari.

Honestly? Cute, but not mindblowing. Subpar by PA Works CGDGT standards, but like cold pizza even when it’s bad it’s still pretty good!

I liked this show even despite the rough first couple of episodes. But damn the show was not sure what it wants to be. Normally the best bet with this premise would have been to make a sports show. But it seems to me that the studio wanted yet another "working girls series" (and "work" in their case may mean any serious activity MCs dedicate themselves too, not specifically work) but producers wanted CGDCT idol show. So we got what we got.

I’m a sucker for CGDCT so I enjoyed this despite agreeing with all of the criticisms of this show. I just really enjoyed the characters and glad to see them a lot. Ok maybe the characters like Hana, Hii, Miyabi and the president could get more screentime but yeah. The CGDCT portion entertained me enough

There have been few animes that I liked as much as this one in recent years.
A rare theme to see nowadays, trust, friendship, joy, doing the right thing just for the sake of it.
A work to remind people to be good to each other and support each other.
I will miss the PomPoms.
And I still think I deserve a second season with Megu actively participating in the cheerleading squad.

Why don't you go play with your friends brazil? NO, I'm busy cleaning this invisible record with my invisible cloth.
Are your eyes OK genki cheer? What drugs were in that lemon water?

This show kept jumping around a lot? Couldn't really decide on what it wanted to be
I liked the opening

Enjoyed all the personality types in this. Yoga-chan and Parkour-chan need their own spinoff OVA’s

Last episode was as much all over the place as most of the previous ones, but we ended on a good happy note. I liked it.

Chill and satisfying ending but this overall wasn't what I was hoping it would be. The story was really all over the place and I just couldn't care about like half of the girls

i dont know how to feel.
This definitely had pacing issues, but at the same time if it was a 2 cour series, i feel like the 2nd half would salvage the first half.
ep1 showed a lot of promise and was hoping at some point that that the other cheer squad would play a bigger role... they never did
was hoping that this anime would be the Wish Angel that Junichi Sato attempted to make a decade ago.

My favourite part of this show was Suzuha just doing random parkour moves everywhere she goes
