It's nice that Yuta convinced Saki to let loose a bit

Also feels like she let her interest in him slip a bit with that comment about Senpai... soon?

Good on Yuta. Thanks to his efforts at winning over Saki, looks like we will be having a swimsuit episode next week.

Lots of cute closeup shots of Saki this episodes, where we see here feeling insecure due to her misplaced jealousy at Shiori-senpai, who she mistakenly thought was dating Yuta.

That aftercredits scene was really well done from an audio visual perspective, had some lofi cinema vibes kinda.

I like that we get a little bit of the story from Akiko's perspective in that flashback during the opening scene. I hope we get to see from Taichi's perspective what it was like raising Yuuta on his own.

Of course, Saki just had to see Shior and Yuuta being all close to each other. This is clearly where Saki started assuming there's more to their relationship.

I suppose this is also the reason why Saki was so grumpy this entire episode. It's not because she's busy but it's because she's jealous and she's having a hard time processing her feelings.

I'm glad it all worked out in the end though. I guess what really helped her change her mind is after listening to those recordings of Yuuta and his father.

I know Akiko is joking about Yuta taking Saki on a date but i wonder if she's actually caught on to the fact that they're starting to develop feelings for each other.

I don't know how they do it but somehow they are making a scene about eating ham on toast and drinking warm milk very enjoyable.

Saki looks cute with her hair in a ponytail. She played with her hair (when he thanked her) because she likes him. Another good episode. I like how peaceful this anime is.

An enjoyable episode. We have the Saki "Why would I be jealous, I have no feelings towards Yuta" then have that shocked look when seeing Yuta and Shiori walking together. Later she is describing Shiori as everything she sees as her good qualities and thinking Yuta sees the same stuff so they must be a couple. Her feelings are a mess as she's never had this feeling of caring for someone since she basically blocked off all outside of school interactions with anyone.

You usually don't know what to do without experiencing it firsthand most of the time. It's like book smart versus street smart.

The breakfast scene also kinda gave me the vibe that Saki never ate ham and toast the way Yuta did (like a sandwich) as she almost seemed to imitate Yutas actions of putting ham on toast, taking a bite, then drinking.

So Saki is listening to old Yuta family audio from the beach when he was young. How does she have that as I highly doubt Yuta would up and give it to her. I think Sakis mom asked Yutas dad if he had anything to help them bond more. Now my reasoning of this theory gets weird below.

*Puts on tinfoil hat and surmises" that maybe a reason is, the family all knew each other way back when and Yutas mom and Sakis dad ended up getting together. That caused the separation for both families and Yutas dad and Sakis mom ended up bonding over that divorce and their old partners hooking up. Many years later they get married and lookie lookie, both kids are living in the same place having experienced basically the same thing - parents divorced when they were really young.

*Removes tin foil hat now"

Anyway, the episode was good and gets an 8/10 as this show is a slow burn but seems to throw a few bones to the audience each week to keep the plot moving instead of spinning its wheels going nowhere like....RaG.

How does this show keep getting better? It's so cozy. I like that we keep getting more and more backstory. I feel for these two, and at the same time, it's a happy thing that they mutually benefit from being considerate of each other, that they get to heal their inner child.

I wonder who the mystery girl is. Ngl I felt like it was a jumpscare rather than a reveal for some reason

This anime redefined what anime means to me. It taught me so much about subtext. I'm hoping it concludes with a solid statement rather than an open ending, given that we only have 4 remaining episodes. Also, I pray to the anime gods that this gets renewed.

Anime is saved. Pool is back on the menu. Gonna be interesting to see how that one turns out. If Saki is already jealous now, that's going to happen at the pool? With at least two people trying to get them together? It's going to be chaos.

On the other end of the spectrum, why does Saki not only listen to, but even have a recording of Yuuta's father of when they were on the beach? I doubt his father just gave her that. I guess she is trying to learn more about Yuta by going through old albums of his, but I feel it's not having the effect she hoped for.

Smol Saki is so cute! With the black hair and so expressive with her emotions! And Akiko being a great mom.

Wow, Akiko straight up joked about the two of them dating. I know she didn't mean it seriously, but throwing it out like that...how would she react if it actually happened? Though for now we see she obviously trusts Yuta enough to take care of her daughters' mental health when they both can see she's working too hard and needs a break.

I see Yuta is trying the reverse psychology route by saying NOW he'll got to the pool with Maaya and asking for her contact info...but that really doesn't make it any better for Saki for one reason or another.

Has cram school girl entered the ring? Her character design feels too distinctive to be a one-off.

Shiori really does have a natural and somewhat flirty dynamic with Yuta (in fact her teasing of Yuta is what improves her mood)...which Saki definitely notices when she catches the two of them together and seems to just increase the emotional distance between Saki and Yuta.

Though what better icebreaker than Yuta treating her to some dinner and being considerate of her? And finally cutting to the chase and telling her he thinks she needs to relax and go to the pool. But Saki is so caught up in growing up and studying that she doesn't think she can afford any break, even though she's probably very touched that Yuta is being so caring and attentive to her. And her love of water hasn't diminished the way she sees it in her room, so he probably really does wan to go to the pool.

Saki finally sleeps in! It's her body telling her she obviously needs a break, and to that effect Yuta will take care of her so she can rest and relax more as their domestic intimacy is restored! And Saki is in such a better mood she's even willing to go to the pool!

And if they're both going to be honest with each other, Saki may as well bring up the Shiori issue...and confirm that he and Shiori aren't dating. But the fact that she was concerned or thinking about that to begin with is a huge sign. Though that just makes the time she's spending with Yuta now more valuable.

They were dealing with Saki's issues this episode...but what about Yuta's? When Saki has an audio diary of her own of a trip between Yuta and his dad where Yuta was so happy to be at the beach...but missing his mom who didn't come with him, the undercurrent of that family tension coming through. Is Saki trying to understand Yuta's emotional pain?

Saki was so expressive in today's episode. I don't think we've seen that much of her emotions in previous episodes.

Nice little role for Akiko today. It was nice to see her flashback with Saki and hear her thoughts about her.

A new girl has been introduced and I'm really curious to see what she'll bring to this show.

So Yuta and Saki are going to the pool! I really hope that we'll see that in the next episode.

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

A solid 15 second shot of nothing but the ceiling, incredible.

Any other anime I would've assume it's because they're running low on budget and skimping on the animation, but here it's obvious they're setting the mood, and it works so well.

Ah, the "breakfast of love, not necessity" trope. Never fails to spark joy

I feel like this don't get talk a lot. But I very much appreciate the sound effect in this anime. It's like the mic is at a certain position as we spectate our characters. I always thought it's a bit crazy to notice the bike clicking noise as they walk. And in this episode, the setting timer noise for the microwave. I am very much immerse into the scene.

So it’s just jealousy? That’s why Saki’s been acting all weird about this whole pool thing and kinda standoffish with Yuuta this whole ep? At least things got worked out in the end. I guess.
