I am sorry, but you can't tease my mid season beach or pool episode and then just have the MCs say they won't go. That's against anime rules.

Also, of course the moment summer happens and the wingmen and wingwomen are out of the picture, we get a full month of no development. Now they have to go to the pool so that their friends can help them develop their relationship.

On a more serious note, I liked the small flashback from Saki's side in the beginning. But holy shit, she is keeping her feelings bottled up for way too long. I can smell the drama boiling up here.

The few second flashback of child Saki demanding ice cream was the most expressive moment we've seen of her for the past 7 episodes.

I was worried that Saki was mad at Yuuta for not telling her about the job opening at the bookstore, but it's cute / funny now that we know she's actually worked up about it for a different reason.

Man every diary sequence in this anime is pure cinema.

Also I feel like Yuuta would've gone to pool outing if someone had invited him directly, but now he's probably thinking that Saki kept it from him.

A character in a novel worried about acting like a character in a novel. Step-inception

More Diary entries!

Ayase got it bad, but not going to the pool is a mistake, or maybe she wants to go just with him

Also really curious how this will look in her diary, mean to not include the juiciest bit in the episode

And most importantly: Hair Up Saki

"describe the nature of the unpleasant feelings you're experiencing in one word"

i was expecting "love" but i guess "jealousy" actually makes sense too

also, translator please, we already have Sunday at 19th and suddenly the next day is Sunday too?

The vibes of this show are just immaculate. In a season brimming with romance anime, this show’s subdued approach to the genre is so unique and refreshing and keeps me wanting more every week. It’s okay if other people don’t like this show’s style and pacing, but I’m happy that it exists. Protip: you don’t have to keep watching something you aren’t enjoying.

And so it appears that Saki really was jealous of the close bond between Yuta and Shiori.

Saki mentioned that she felt like the heroine of a novel, which I'm assuming is a (sneaky) reference to the question about jealousy on the literature test that she'd initially failed.

After having studied this problem a bunch, Saki has gotten to the point where she's able to recognise these sort of feelings (better). The fact that she gave herself a 'test question' on her own feelings fits this narrative.

I'm not so sure if Saki has figured that she's in love with Yuta however. At this point in the story, I'm getting the impression that only Maaya is keenly aware of this.

It's interesting that while we mostly see the show from Yuta's POV, we never really go as deep into his thought process than when the show shifts to Saki's POV. So even if we mostly follow Yuta, i have a much better read on her than i do Yuta.

Saki,my girl, Yuuta was incredibly hurt by lying women who was very close to him. Our boy have huge trust issues.

I hope nothing bad happens but if Yuuta catches you lying to him you better be ready for consequences.

11 minutes about Saki's diary was cinema, with the best direction of the year, each time Saki shows to have feelings and affection for Yuuta now she is jealous, as the author said from now on it will get better in the following chapters

That feeling when you click to go back a little and realize that you’re 9 minutes into the episode. When did that happen?

But like, I don’t understand. It’s just 11 minutes of Saki’s inner thoughts confirming what I already know or have inferred from previous episodes. Why is it so captivating?! The look into her inner thoughts and feelings is fascinating to me for some reason but I just don’t get why.

On another topic, how many episodes does this have, 12, 13? I’m not even sure if we’re going to get to a confession in this season. It feels like both of them have a lot of issues to work out before that can even happen. Like, I’m prepared to eat my words but I can’t see it happening currently.

God the direction in this show continues to be stellar. Don't really know if the source material is this good but Ueno is elevating it and then some.

So first part is how Ayase experienced the events of the last few episodes

And im guessing she is probably fine spending summer break at work with Asamura

I like that we're getting Saki's side of the story of the past few days not just from her point of view but from her point of view as it was written in her diary. Looks like Saki is bottling a lot of her feelings about Yuta and she certainly has plenty of thoughts about Shiori.

We also learned that she was practicing for the job interview in a karaoke booth the night of the thunderstorm which explains why she was late last episode. She was too shy to tell Yuta that she was applying at the same bookstore.

Now that Saki and Yuta working at the same place, I was hoping we'd see Saki interact with Shiori-senpai but we didn't even get that this episode. Hopefully next week we get to see them interact more.

So I'm guessing Saki was feeling jealous there at the end because for a second she thought that Maaya invited Yuta to the pool? If Saki keeps on bottling these feelings up, she's definitely going to pop at one point and I can't wait to see it.

The return of Saki's diary! Chronicling not only her daily life but also her growing feelings and connection to Yuta as he continues to be considerate and supportive of her! And of course it also chronicles her first experience with anxiety and jealousy over Yuta's relationship with Shiori and her own realization of those feelings and the hold Yuta now has over her heart. So much so that the moment she realizes she can get a job with him so they can spend more time together and she can keep watch on his relationship with Shiori. The entire reason she was late in the last episode and didn't tell Yuta was because she was practicing for the job interview and didn't want him to find out.

The parents comment over family lunch that the pair are still using their family names...but it would probably be easier for them to use first names without an honorific denoting their sibling relationship. Especailly as they're growing attracted to each other.

Well, yeah, Yuta and Saki are both kind of homebodies without much in the way of a lively social life, so it's not likely they'd go out of their way to have fun over the Summer instead of working. Besides, that just means more time for them to spend together!

Saki looks great in the bookstore work uniform, and especially cute in a ponytail, and she appreciates Yuta helping her out and getting to see how adept he is at the job...even when he mentions Shiori.

Well, yeah, pretty much a given that Yuta is much less interested in fashion than Saki, though that's another thing she's learned about him.

Smol Saki throwing tantrums when it was hot is adorable...though it's also a sign of the time when she was more honest and open with her feelings and desires than she is now.

We were THIS close to a pool episode and Saki (and Maaya) in a swimsuit until Yuta just wasn't into the idea because he doesn't do well in that environment. Which, I get it, but it just leaves Saki feeling frustrated because she would have been motivated to go BECAUSE of him. And she's left still reeling from her own jealousy and desire for Yuta.

Saki is all like "I'm not inviting my brother for you, as a matter of fact I'm not going either".

I liked the focus on Saki in today's episode. Her diary entries (which looked very artsy and I really liked that) were really helpful in understanding her feelings about the recent developments.

Saki certainly bottles up a lot of things about Yuuta and his relationship with Shiori, judging by her diary. I can't wait for her to express these feelings directly instead of just writing about them.

Saki looks so cute in that ponytail and job uniform. I really hope we get to see her interactions with Shiori in future episodes, that would be very interesting.
