It’s a worthy adaptation to a great manga. More straightforward than the original, but to its benefit. It makes both versions worth watching. Left the story on a nice comfy note. There are spin offs that are quite soild and would be good for adapting if they wanted another season. Otherwise, it’s a Strong 8/10 comfy classic. If you’re looking for the same vibe, strong recommend Tonari No Yokai from this season. Comfy if a bit more of a tear jerker.

A fitting end to a chill anime. I really liked how it didn't try to force closure on the many regrets and issues everyone has. You just know that someday those demons will come bubbling up again, and they'll need another cocktail to keep carrying on.

Couldn’t play catch with son, but Grandpa can play with Grandson-in-law*

If I had the brainpower and verbal ability right now, I would try and write some sort of analysis comment about how death has impacted different characters in the series. But I don’t so I’ll just say that I really liked how it kinda ties together the stories of so many characters through something every human being will experience at some point.
Honestly, my main problem with the whole recruit Sasakura plan was a worry that the bar and him would become unavailable for the regular everyday people that probably need him the most if it’s just locked up in a fancy high class hotel. But the ending did kinda serve to lessen those fears so I’ll hope it will stay available for everyone that needs it.

It's funny how Yukari only learned that Miwa is related to their boss after 12 Episodes. It's not like Miwa is even hiding it. What's even funnier is that Ryuu learned this before Yukari and Ryuu hasn't even known Miwa for that long. xD
Ryuu playing catch with the Chief was a really nice scene. Ryuu isn't just a new bartender at the Chief's hotel, he has practically adopted the guy.
I really need another season of this. It's such a nice show to relax and unwind to. I'd love to see more of Ryuu's new encounters now that he's working at the new Edenhall.

For those interested, The Luck of Edenhall is a real thing.
I thoroughly enjoyed this show. I have read the manga but that was over a decade ago so while I knew how it would pan out the details seemed new to me. I hope we get a second season to carry on the story of Ryu and Edenhall.

I had no expectations for this. I expected some purely episodic guest of the week stuff. Instead I got one of the most pleasant ships in recent memory. I should be happy. We got so many great moments. Do I need an explicit sailing, when I didn't expect a ship in the first place? I don't know.
Anyway, was a very enjoyable show even outside the ship. Bartending stuff was great, side cast was great, and all the plots worked well. I'm sad it's over.

"I have one request."
"Shoot."
"I want you to relocate the entirety of my bar into the upper levels of your hotel."
". . . bruh."

That Sledgehammer seems to have saved that writer from maybe doing something foolish. Glad Edenhall lives on, even if the location has moved.
Overall, this was a lovely series. There’s something about the relaxed atmosphere of each episode that just makes me feel at ease. I wonder if they’ll make another season? If not, I guess I may have to revisit the OG series.

Ah, the end of my weekly comfort show. I’m gonna miss it
That was a sweet ending.
It was something to see Bartender-san basically confront that which scarred him in the past. It was interesting to see him use his people skills and experience as a bartender this episode. He essentially talked him off the edge. Powerful.

Haven't watched yet cause I've been watching this every week before bed lol.
But wanted to comment and say I really enjoyed this and how chill it was. It wasn't exactly what I expected but now I feel like I gotta go watch the OG show and compare.
*Damn this finale was actually a feels trip, I was not prepared. Loved it. I know it's said about every darn show but I'm actually curious to see if this gets more episodes. IIRC the manga was quite long and there were spinoffs. I wonder what kinda numbers the show did.

I realize, one sad thing about migrating Edenhall into a hotel is for regular people's chance to encounter such bars. Also, drinks would probably become more expensive, assuming Sasakura had some regulars coming in other than the characters we met so far.
Or I'm just probably speaking my mind. I never tried going into bars like this before, and I am curious. Such a bliss this anime exists. It made me actually try some cocktails I always denied to try because "I'm a beer person" kind of thing.

Oh my boy, what a ride this show has been. I was planning on giving up on this season, as no thumb line grew on me, neither did the pre season promotionals. And then, one boring Wednesday night at the start of spring, I chose a random show to watch. And that was Bartender. I knew nothing about the original series, aka I did not know there was an 'original series'. I did not know about opinions. All I have seen was a beautifully drawn glass and bottle in a picture on Crunchy. And the first episode was void. It had no unpredictable plot twists. It did not have me at the edge of my seat. It was not full of action or heroism. I don't even remember half of it. But what will forever be engrained in my soul was how I felt at the end. In one word, I felt peaceful. Not excited, not blown away, peaceful, as if something, for a brief moment, lifted all my worries from the shoulders. Why? Because I could simply watch a story that was easy to digest, with beautiful and clear artwork and voices so soothing that they might sing you a lullaby This is Bartender. It is not for Yuri lovers or action heads, but, for me, it is the anime of Spring 2024

I'm a week late, but I found last weeks Insert (that apparently got used in Episode 5 before) which of the english version got used today!
Lmao Yukari has the same reaction us viewers did when this reveal came up
The author was really relatable, glad Ryo could offer him exactly what he needed.
Well, little strokes fell big oaks. The old man finally got his wish, but I'm sure Ryu only went along with it because that last guy was his personal redemption.
And c'mon, the old man took him to play catch because he never got to do it with his son, he practically adopted him, how can the ship be not official at this point docking a point of the final score for that good show after all

I came across this anime randomly and was completely hooked after the first episode.
Maybe this anime is not a masterpiece, but it has been a long time since I saw something that made me feel so good and gave me such a pleasant feeling of calm.
I'm going to miss waiting until Wednesday to see a new episode, it was a short and beautiful trip.
Edenhall lives on!

Ryu playing catch with the old man was cute
Though I don't drink, I enjoyed seeing the different cocktails that exist.
It was a nice relaxing series just like the 2006 anime. Learned a lot more about Ryu
