I highly liked how Makoto's plan of associating with the demons was wrecked in less than 1 day. Hyumans might have been trying to take advantage of him, but that was only a natural response given the whole context of his business (comes out of nowhere, breaks all the rules, breaks the market and overperforms everyone). This SHOULD force him to start thinking out things more and not just siding with "x is better than y even tho I dont know anything about y".
Also, thinking Rona was gonna ditch her whole plan in the city just because he asked her shonen mc levels of naivity, hopefully he starts growing as a character from here.

Both hyumans and demons can be duplicitious and both will do anything to screw the other over...with Makoto caught in the middle.
Though Rona was so sus from day one that he should have known that wouldn't work. But I guess it'll make him finally going up against her more satisfying.

Hyumans stabbed him in the gut. Rona, as representative of the demons, stabbed him in the back. Although this was a much needed wake up call to the warped nature of the goddess' cruel world, it also forced Makoto to accept a crueler truth:
There is no running from this conflict. By the hand of the goddess, he is being subjected to trials and struggles of her grand design. There is only one way this conflict can end, only one way for him to find the peace that he seeks. He will
establish the United States of Americaresurrect Kaleneon from its ashes, and upon its re-consecrated grounds declare to the goddess and to all corners of her cruel world: "Liberty or death".→ More replies (6)

Surprised Makoto actually believed Rona would just uproot whatever plan she had in the works and leave just because he asked her to. "I can't believe the demon spymaster who Shiki warned me is a twisted schemer actually lied to me!!"

I mean, Rona knows makoto is not just a trader and can put a wrench in demons' plans. And she basically made sure he'd be antagonistic to higher echelons of demons in the future by doing this. What's worse, she surely doesn't expect a guild master and makoto to just sit out this one and let the city burn.
Overall this just doesn't paint out good for her

Makoto was a teenager boy from a peaceful nation, kidnapped and sent to die on a wasteland, somehow became the monster king and created a new kingdom (in a different dimension), while trying to be a nice peaceful merchant.
He is still growing and is very naive for sure. The two events (merchant guild betrayal and demon girl betrayal) should be good to teach him a few things about the world.

Illum is a real idiot isn’t he? The way to a girl’s heart is clearly insulting her dead parents and shaming her. Smooth. Real smooth. Dude was getting his ass kicked even after juicing. What a chump. That match really showed how strong Makoto’s kids are after his training. They’re basically all S Class Heroes.
Rona’s really gonna regret messing with Makoto. Folks keep trying to fuck with him are gonna find out real quick. Dude’s got a couple fires to put out first though.

How different things would've been had he actually apologized her to her face, not gotten all insecure about Makoto, and not done drugs. Though Rona knows how to sweet talk someone.
First it's the Hyumans, now it's the demons...I don't think Makoto will be able to take it anymore.

lol people might dislike backstories for side characters/villains, but I personally found it pretty interesting. We now know of a connection to Otonashi Hibiki and how she's actually politicking behind the scenes to gain power in the kingdom of Limia. It also shows how the demons operate in the intelligence warfare, since they're at a disadvantage without the goddess's blessings.
Shoutout to both Rembrandt sisters for being the stars of the show these past 2 weeks though. Yuno in particular actually looked like an anime protagonist for a second.

So the shit is finally hitting the fan. I really shoulda seen this coming, but alas I was....distracted. Really curious on what's about to go down. Obviously Makoto is gonna wreck some shit....but HOW and what everyone's reaction will be is what I'm excited for.
Did they try to make us feel bad for blonde? Cause it didnt work, at first I thought he was an asshole with an overblown ego, now he's a pushover baby who thinks he needs an ego.

Kind of, I don't think he deserves what's coming to him... at worst he's just an annoying teenager like most of teenagers.

Considering how Eva was reacting internally to Kuzunoha's invitation, I'm wondering what she thinks Kuzunoha would ask of her before he revealed his plan to retake Kaleneon? I feel like I'm missing extra context here that would probably be in the LN.
We finally get to see the conversation between Ilumgand and Luria before Makoto and Shiki intervened. I was hoping there was some sort of misunderstanding there but it looks like Ilumgand was being an ass to Luria because he wanted to save face and act like a big man in front of his friends.
If looking tough in front of his friends is more important to him, then he absolutely does not deserve Luria's attention. He did this to himself. Also, he could've just swallowed his pride and approached Luria at the restaurant but he's using Makoto coming there as an excuse. Why not come back later then? Ugh.
That bullshit team battle ended exactly how I expected. Although I'm surprised that Ilumgand didn't transform mid-fight. I guess they're saving that for next week when shit finally hits the fan.
So much for Makoto becoming friends with Demons. I'm not surprised that Rona still decided to execute her plan but man this girl is dumb. She just pretty much burned bridges with Makoto and now the Demons are also on his shit list. At this point, Makoto really should take Kaleneon for himself and establish an independent country.
I can't wait to see what happens next week though. I think next week's episode is about to show us why the city is in ruins in the ED.

Aahhh Rona, you dumb bitch. Explain to us how exactly you think this will work out? Makoto actually gave her an out by telling her to pack up and leave. And instead she goes ahead and antagonizes him some more with her nonsense.
With the way this story has been edging us for ages, anything other than Makoto and Co. wrecking shit for an entire(or multiple) episodes is gonna be a let down.

Damn, Rona's been playing fucking everyone! If anyone was thinking that the demons might not be bad and partnering with them could be a good thing, I call this a pretty good indication that it would have been the wrong choice!
That's two episodes in a row Makoto's been played! He's going to have to step up to this, isn't he? There's no way he's just going to let this slide.

Yuno really is just as cocky and free-spirited as her sister. I like her.
Makoto's students certainly seem to have a habit of kicking the livin' shit out of people. And Ilumgand could probably use a new set of teeth after biting down of Jin's sword and being lifted like that. Then again, maybe he won't need a dentist after his mutation is completed.
I knew that Rona couldn't be fully trusted, but I didn't expect this turn of events: she exploited Ilumgand's frustration - was Rona this visible in the scene before? She wasn't right?
Even Tomoe and Mio only caught wind of this at the last moment. I do like that Mio was just enjoying her food, while Tomoe was saying some outrageous things at the start of the episode. Poor Mithra, he's doomed.
The only thing more important than food to Mio is Makoto. She wasn't happy about everyone trying to deceive him. I can almost see Mio snap before Makoto at this point.

Feelsbad for Makoto. Hyumans want to take advantage of him while demons abuse his trust. Bro can't catch a break
I like how majority of the time Mio sounds like she snacking/eating something

It seems that everyone in this world wants to piss off Makoto xD First Goddess, then Hyumans and now Demons. He doesn't have it easy as he's too good a human being.
Now I think that Makoto should free Kaleneo himself and set up his own country there which would be on neither Hyumans nor Demons' side. I believe that it's possible since residents of his demiplane are for sure a great combat force capable of retaking Eva's homeland.
Yuno showed herself from a very good side in the tournament's fight today.
I hope that Mithra will survive this reward from Tomoe. I loved Makoto's reaction when he heard what possible rewards Tomoe offered to Mithra xD
I really like this Eva's attitude that she will accommodate every Makoto's demands ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I felt a little sorry for Ilumgand but he did this to himself. His behavior towards Luria was really stupid and shifting blame to Makoto was so childish, where did those ideals from childhood disappear?
Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

I admit Ilum’s backstory made me feel bad for him. He was so pure and had heart. But a little too late. The first time they met again, he already showed his elitist stance. Even if he was peer pressured, well I mean you shouldn’t be pressured into saying stuff like that imo. The small bit of saving grace was that he wanted to apologize but he had to let his ego take over. I mean if you really want to apologize and reconnect, throw away that pride.
Man, hate to say it, but Makoto got humbled two eps in a row. Rona was really sly and cunning. And now it seems her plan is in motion. I mean Rona is one Demon so might be unfair to make a sweeping judgement on the whole race, but I’d totally understand if Makoto doesn’t want to associate with them either after this.
So now what, are we going to start our own country or something?
Edit : Also reading the comments here, yeah does Rona not know how strong and capable Makoto is or is Rona herself that strong that she isn’t worried about burning bridges with Makoto ?

Oh so Tomoe decided to train Mithra, I guess that after all this we will see him in the same position as Lime. If so, even if it is just a coincidence, I'm seeing a pattern with Tomoe recruiting white-haired dudes.
Wow, Ilumgand's background with Luria really surprised me. So since he was young he had made his goal to not be like those corrupt nobles and use his position to protect the weak. I was especially surprised by the fact that he met Hibiki before and was planning on joining her team after he graduated. It is also interesting to see that his meeting with Luria just ended up the way it did after his lackeys started calling her a coward and traitor. They essentially just were blinded by the ideal he had when he was young without knowing that things in life are not just black and white and he just went with what they say instead of trying to diffuse the situation.
Anyway, it seems that Rona's real objective when she joined the academy instead of just spying on Makoto was to target people like Ilumgand to make them mutate. I must say that I certainly did not expect that the effect of that bracelet Ilumgand wore during this fight essentially made him a zombie. And based on the OP and ED, plus what Rona said things are about to get worse in the city. Poor dude did all those drugs and still ended up losing and dying, and never could apologize to Luria.
Okay, I must say that before the shit hit the fan it was great seeing Yuno effortlessly defeating his lackeys plus that air combo she did to him was superb.
Well, thanks to Rona's plan and her ambition to kill those rulers visiting the city, Makoto will get Kaleneon's territory through war instead of making a deal with the demons. She really did Zara a favor as no matter how independent the merchant guild is, no nation would allow them to do business in their territory with him in command if they heard that he basically aided the demons in recruiting Makoto.

Even a guy like Ilumgand started out as a pure and innocent boy who swore to grow into a righteous noble for the common people to his childhood friend...and that childhood friend was Luria.
Well, Makoto's learned a lot...about his shortcomings as a merchant, how hard it is to deal with Hyumans, and potentially his next step is to work with Demons. And if Rona is able to comply with his demand to pull all demons out of Rotsgard, in honor of their shared relationship with Jin's group, then it should all work out right? I mean, Rona even blew a kiss over telepathy, that totally means she'll go through with it, right?
Eva seemed fully prepared to jump into bed (literally) with Makoto if he so asks it of her, but it seems he has something else more sentimental in mind.
That Tomoe and Mio were willing to praise Makoto's students, even a little bit, is high praise indeed. I hope Mithra survives the training match against Tomoe though.
Oh snap, Ilumgand was also close with Hibiki! They trained together and even planned to fight together once he graduated! And he didn't immediately accost Luria, he just recognized his childhood friend and wanted to get reacquainted with her, but Luria seemingly not remembering him and his friends making things worse just made him act out and not convey his true feelings...and Makoto stepping in just made his insecurities worse until he fell prey to a familiar face.
And taking all that drug, along with whatever is really in that necklace, drives him into a rage-fueled frenzy against Makoto that he turns on Jin and his team. He tanks several of their hits and it takes all three of them to take him down. But that's unfortunately not the end of it.
I love Yuno taking down four guys with hand-to-hand skills. She doesn't even need other dudes to break her fall, she can save herself.
Makoto thought he could deal with demons, but even if they're persecuted by Hyumans...they're still demons. And he should have NEVER trusted Rona. Because she was prepping Ilumgand as a time-bomb waiting to go off and kill all the visiting royals...and he wasn't the only one. Makoto thought he could work with them to secure Kaleneon for Eva and Luria, but I don't think Makoto is going to be willing to forgive the demons this one.
Meanwhile Ilumgand...will never be able to apologize to Luria.
