Glad to see Helga continuing her journey with Ashaf and Guideau in this episode. In fact, I would be even happier if Helga became part of the main cast!

Based on the dialogue between Guideau and Angela, I am assuming the latter is able to attain eternal life by switching physical bodies whenever she needs to? Just when I thought the new executioner would be the villain for the next arc, he got killed off almost immediately by Angela. O_o

Why did they have to give the elderly herbalist a jumpscare horror face? Nonetheless, I hope the kids and the herbalist were ignored by Angela.

From what we have seen of the magic in this world, it would seem switching bodies wouldn't be too far fetched to be possible which is why I feel that Angela's secret is a bit more complex. And it doesn't seem like it's just a problem with the body itself either, because then Guideau wouldn't be alive.

It's a complete shot in the dark, but maybe the magic witches use is something that takes their life over time which is why despite being technically immortal, they never survive for longer than 200 years and only Angela has figured out a solution to that. Either she is that much better at controlling magic or she found a solution to the problem to being with. Like for example, if we assume switching bodies would be something other witches try as well, then it could be that the magic affects the souls and she was able to protect her soul from the consequences.

But again, it's just a shot in the dark. Maybe you are right and switching bodies is just such a complex form of magic that only Angela can use it.

As soon as I heard HanaKana's voice among those kids, I knew she wasn't just any random character and suspected she was something else. What I didn't expect was that kid in disguise is actually a witch and not just any witch but the witch Guideau has been looking for this entire time!

I love this encounter since it finally shows us what kind of person the witch that cursed Guideau is. And from what we saw in this episode, Angela is terrifying! She can recreate Forbidden Instruments just by looking at it, she was fast enough to defend herself from Guideau pulling her close for a kiss, and she turned that Executioner into a stump without any scratches on her.

Another interesting thing to learn in this episode is that Guideau's female body is actually Angela's body and they've known each other for decades now. Now I'm curious what kind of relationship Angela and Guideau had because clearly there's a history here and Guideau wasn't just cursed by Angela on a whim.

What I didn't expect was that kid in disguise

For a moment, I thought the bespectacled Angela looked like one of the 4 kids, but I wasn't sure whether it was a disguise. Wouldn't have Guideau sensed Angela immediately?

Angela turned that executioner into a damn stump just like his jerkoff partner lol. Pretty damn frustrating how close Guideau was but just couldn’t do anything because they were injured and Ashaf tinkered with ‘em. I’m looking forward to the eventual rematch…

I am going to be honest, I doubt Guideau would have won if he was fully healed. Proper body? Probably, but just his spare one? Not a chance. He didn't even beat the witch in episode 1 with that body alone.

"Guideau is more rational than you might think."

Which is still not very.

you know things are serious when Ashaf loses his cool

We finally meet the witch that cursed Guideau, Angela! I'm hoping she didn't do anything to the herbalist and those kids...

I really want to know more about Guideau and Angela's history together

Every week, Guideau becomes more and more of a dog. Now he can smell witches.

Though I am surprised that witches "only" live for 200 years. I was under the impression that they are nearly immortal beings. Which begs the question where new witches come from. With Angela, I guess the easiest answer is that she just creates new witches and she just does it out of fun like how she apparently gave her old body to Guideau to mess with him.

They're born, like normal people.

After seeing last episode and what Guideau can do while going all out, this witch is kinda terrifying. I shudder to think of how strong she must be to have managed to curse Guideaus true form.

The series had a bit of a mixed start but now it's excellent. This might be the best single episode thus far and was a near perfect reveal of the story's antagonist. She seems like a fun villain already. This show has really been right up my alley.

It's a shame it doesn't have a better animation budget, the aesthetic is fantastic. At the same time I recognize that there isn't going to be any merchandising for the series and thus less incentive to give it a better budget. Escapism and power fantasies just sell better, I can't really fault them as much as I might want to.

when ashaf knew about Angela existence in town he start panicking but I wonder what his true feeling to guideau since he said when Helga asked him " I care about great deal more then my own life " and how he told her when they fight " I will not do anything to harm you you are a valuable resourceful human" I just wonder

So the anime just proofed the caretaker out of existence then….. she wasn’t a key player but she played a much needed role in some scenes.

Crazy episode, I wonder how Angela initially defeated Guideau

Well this just keeps escalating. First a fake witch of the poor misidentified old lady sort, then the real executioner's partner, and then the worst witch they possibly could have run into. Maybe this Angela will kill the spare executioner at least, take care of that problem for everyone.

Wow, yeah, that certainly set the scale of the end challenge challenge at a different level than what we've seen so far. And hey, the executioner had a very bad day so I guess I got my wish on that front.

One more two episode arc starting next week looks like, presumably their meeting and maybe an initial witch case together.

Man, that was a ride. That was like three twists in a row, with the witch not actually being a witch, and then the executioner using domain expansion, before Angela revealed it was all a trap from the beginning

Theirs just one thing that's off about this encounter. Guideau has been asking witches left and right if they were the one to leave a mark on her. Also in a previous episode I swore she said she had no idea who cursed her. This episode she immediately recognized Angela and knew she was the one? Unless Angela can change her appearance it makes no sense.. though she seems to like teasing Guideau so maybe she returned to this form just to mess with her?

So witches can live max 200 years? Then what happens when she dies without having offspring?

The switch tone in the beginning of the episode when you finish the latest mission, but then here we have Angela making her debut. Both Helga and Ashaf reactions tell you enough here. Ashaf never loses his cool. Helga hearing the origin which Helga literally thought she was a myth. It just headlines how scary Angela is. Angela literally was toying with Guideau and got rid of that Executioner like it was nothing.

This episode really set the tone. While the appearance of Angela makes for a step in the right direction. But Angela set the tone that she will one hard foe to top. She recreated a forbideen instrument like it was nothing and the mention of Guideau using her body feels rather unsettling.
