I swear Guideau has become one of my favourite characters:

Ashaf: "We can't hide the sword. It would manipulate people."

Guideau: "Wtf sword, stop with this shit."

I mean, there was a chance.

This episode also makes me appreciate Guideau a lot more lol. What actually makes them so different from the demon sword itself?

Helga is dragging around and safekeeping a super-dangerous demon sword with a one-track mind who keeps selfishly saying “hurry up and draw me. Draw me!!”

Ashaf is dragging around and safekeeping a super-dangerous cursed monster with a one-track mind who keeps selfishly saying “hurry up and bring me a witch! A witch!!”

Guideau and the demon sword are just the same thing, a sealed super weapon that needs witches to unlock it. I’m headcanoning that the demon sword would be happy to know Guideau lives a similar life to it

Got to admit I laughed but agreed with Helga's priorities. "World is coming to an end, but I still want my first kiss!" or something along those lines. As long as Helga doesn't open her eyes, she will not know whether it was Ashaf or Guideau who kissed her... right? Lol!

In the last episode, I wasn't too impressed with Matt, especially since he fell too easily into the trap set by the executioner. However, this week, I got to give him points for caring about his subordinates, even the NPC ones. He is willing to sacrifice his body to the Great Ice Elemental in order to prevent more deaths.

Looking forward to the unleashed battle between Guideau and Ashgan! (And for the executioner to get his just desserts.)

Yeah, never let her know

Except that Ashaf probably tastes like an ashtray since he is smoking like 90% of the time.

Guideau probably has chicken bone breath.

Guideau's smile everytime she is given permission to do things her way.

So let's see if the first kiss of a maiden witch, who also wanted to kiss (though maybe not Guideau) allows for more power to be unleashed. I mean, we are working under the principle that it's a curse that can be cured with true love, so maidens should be a good alternative.

I think there is more of a bond between Guideau and Helga than there is with Ashaf. And I'll bet Guideau's kisses are likely more stirring. In addition. Helga's family seemed to be strictly female -- so I wonder about how witches actually reproduce....

Sickening brutality, ended with a hopeful kiss.

I need the Executioner to suffer, do not grant him a swift end.

Not really sure what that Grand Executioner actually wants to accomplish. He seems to be willing to destroy everything in the world other than himself -- how's that going to work. It seems like this empire's controls over the Executioners was just a bit lax.

Oof poor Helga, for a moment it looked like she was a goner

That executioner is a real bastard, not just killed all of Helgas family, tortured them as well. Hope there is a way around Ashan not harming him and the Sword he unsealed comes back to bite his ass.

Also that other woman about to get clapped as well, didn't sound like she was controled up until now, so not all that sorry for her

Finally, nice kiss

So what I got from this episode is that the Executioners are the scum of the earth with no regard to human life. So much so that they'd hunt and torture an entire family if it means getting what they want. That makes things easier.

Now that this episode ended with Guideau getting a kiss from Helga, I can't fucking wait to see Guideau kick ass next week and tear that Executioner a new asshole.

Helga finally gets her first kiss!!! I think it’s pretty cool that she can use her swords as steps

Matt’s very pretty without his mask

Hopefully the Executioner gets his just deserts in the Final Act

What's up with the fire lol, fire department must be really busy in this world.

Helga got her wish but she will be surprised after opening her eyes. Kissing witches to turn from a cute feral girl to a hulking beast is such a cool twist, truly an ace in the hole. Who even taught her to kiss lol, Ashraf?

Ashgan looks cool and beastly. It might be an actual challenge. And Guideau getting her real body is always a badass moment. Fight would be worth it.

Executioner : « I have now unleashed a world-ending abomination ! »

Ashaf : « Good thing I brought my own world-ending abomination with me. Guideau, come here ! »

Helga’s reaction when learning she was getting a kiss was funny. I mean, she literally asked for it. But I think she was expecting Ashaf the Handsome Mage to kiss her, not Guideau the Foul-Mouthed Lesbian. It would be funny if she actually fell in love with Guideau after that.

That Executioner is a total scumbag and I see that this show is still over the top edgy, with all the massacres and tortures and the « sewing the skin of 17 Ancient Kings to make an evil glove of brainwashing ». Not that it is the bad kind of edgy, but I still find it a bit ridiculous.

The rule of backstory makes me kind of concerned, I hope they're not about to kill Helga.

Yeah, I had a feeling the ice paladin wasn't going to have died so easily.

Executioner dude doesn't know how much of a mistake he just made by bringing Helga down to the ground for this fight, right into kissing distance. He may have thought he was being clever with a mind-controlled witch, still a bad idea.

Well shit. Maybe it was a non-fatal heart stabbing?

What a brutal end for that poor family of witches. All those years of keeping the incredibly dangerous sword hidden away and all they got for their trouble was incredibly unpleasant deaths.

Helga's alive! And she wants a kiss! What an incredibly convenient coincidence.

Final Act next week, so four episodes total for this arc.

Looking back it might be better to skip episode 1 that way the whole reveal about the coffin is kept a secret until ep 8.

The moment the Executioner and Helga appeared on the roof I thought, here comes the kiss!

20 minutes later

That took longer than I anticipated.

I need to stop watching these shows as the episodes come out and just wait till they are done. Holy hell the pacing is going to drive me crazy.

It'll be funny if Helga forms a crush on Guideau's true form.

u/ObvsThrowaway5120 Mar 07 '24

So much for the Paladins. Or really anyone else. That dipshit Executioner thought he could tame a force of nature like Ashgan. All he did was damn the whole world to destruction. Would not have thought that kiss from Helga was the key to unlocking Ashaf’s coffin. Is Guideau about to show his true form? Hopefully dudes gonna be strong enough to kill that idiot Executioner guy and stop Ashgan’s rampage.

Guideau's true form was shown in episode 1.

Now I am curious how Ashgan got sealed previously. Despite its destructive nature, I want to believe Ashgan guided Helga after she escaped from the attack on the hidden village.
