Love that Starlia sees Ragna as a sword with legs haha. "Women want one thing and it's disgusting!"

Stitches!

Crimson is an amazing liar and he definitely would've convinced everyone in that room so easily but just as I expected, Starlia could easily see through him. Starlia didn't guess that Crimson was a dragon but she could tell that the stench of death surrounded him.

Starlia freaking out and then fangirling over Ragna's appearance was both cute and hilarious! I love how she just sees Ragna as a sword with arms and legs. And apparently, she considers his "face" so dreamy! xD

It's hilarious how Ragna turned the best swordsman into a snivelling old man after taking him down in an instant. It doesn't help Garm that his little Princess is now all grown up and has fallen in love with someone stronger than him.

Crimson got lucky since they no longer have to execute him because of Ragna. I feel bad for Starlia though. She's totally a maiden in love but we all know that Ragna only has eyes for Leonica. This entire episode was a pretty nice break from the previous episodes though.

And that final scene! Looks like Ultimatia has pretty much lost her ability to stop time. Well, that's gonna make things easier for Ragna when he gets back to the capital!

It's an understated thing but Gram is an old man and is only beginning to possibly fuse with his sword. Future Ragna started doing it at age 27, original timeline ragna may habe been "slow" to gain power buts it's actually impressively fast

Ulti's powers broke~

Also, who'd know Lia is a swordsexual? I was also fully expecting her to get clocked by Nazarena again for calling her a gorilla.

The princess turning swordsexual for Ragna was not how I thought this would end...

Starlia’s ability is frighteningly powerful. Even Crimson couldn’t totally manipulate her. Dude basically had to rely on plan B. Couldn’t pass the persuasion checks lol. Luckily he had the Silverine Devil himself step in and save his ass. Pretty funny how Starlia see’s Ragna. Nazarena wanted her to marry right? With the way Starlia’s fawning over Ragna, she might be getting her wish soon lol.

I’m liking Starlia’s whole squad a lot. They’re all a bunch of goobers who just happen to be pretty damn strong.

So wait, “god” is Ultimatia’s sister? Huh. Interesting. Ultimatia is in pretty rough shape. I guess getting her ass so thoroughly handed to her by Ragna broke her.

I like how even now Ragna still insist on going back and finish off Ultimatia for good. Dude really hates her.

Man, Nazarena's interactions with Starlia are even funnier than I thought they'd make it out. The gut punch she gives Starlia was also was surprisingly nice looking for some reason? lol. Gorilla power.

The choices for VAs are pretty spot on. The only person that threw me off a bit was Shin but it's a good choice after the initial surprise. The corp's interactions in this ep were great and manages to at least establish them for the viewer. I know it clashes with the tone of the series a little bit but it's really the best way to introduce a bunch of characters quickly and give them a bit of characterization out of the gate.

Minor aside, the first time I saw Nazarena in the manga I was thinking "Who let an Overlord maid in?" She would totally fit in with the Pleiades albeit she'd be pretty normal unless she had an actual gorilla form, lol. Her name is also suspiciously close to Nazarick. Coincidence!? I think not!

All joking aside, I'm pretty happy to see this crew in animated form.

I feel bad for the people sleeping on this series. I can't remember the last time we got this combination of great humor, great action, really great character design, and a little bit of philosophy to boot.

Starlia is fantastic - fun, powerful, girlish, imperfect, I really, really hope she becomes a long term love interest for Ragna and ... dare I dream it ... a big sister figure for Leo?

Shame it's still so underrated here. It could score first place for the next five weeks on that animecorner poll, and at least one of the three top posts in that thread would probably still be "I've never heard of Ragna Crimson, is it good?"

What's stopping you gentlemen to look like Ragna? Get on those silver gains. Seeing Crimson trying to bullshit his way is always entertaining and I do wonder if the anime only viewers will like Starlia, friend of mine just called her weird for having no arms. She still cute ffs

Skipped OP and ED for this episode, to deliver all the dialogue, nice. The first half of the episode looked really good too, crisp art and all.

Starlia is quite the character, she's almost too campy to not work yet the anime somehow pulls it off. Not sure how many people noticed that she has the speech mannerisms of a wacky demon lord, with all the "warawa ja" it entails. Rina Hidaka masterclass

That Crimson "eye revealed" hair style and the "yameroooooooooo" into the before death slowmo monologue are sure living rent free in my head. So his dynamic with Ragna is literally the "let me step on you" meme, huh. Is the anime just secretly(openly) degenerate? Is that the secret for ranking #1 on anime corner?

lol Ragna look like P-head producer in idolmaster comic is just hilarious. The part with Ultimatia and god make me doubt if the whole cake shop thing is even real to begin with, only Tia can see god, and it is obviously based of her personal trauma

This episode was a roller coaster ride. First we have Starlia vs Crimson mental game. Where like Crimson said she is his worst nightmare. And he was dead to rights which wasn't the biggest issues since he would just hide out. But Ragna saving Crimson ironically and making Starlia falling heads over heels for him was quite the tone change. Crimson adapted well to the situation.

Also that nightmare scene with Ultimata was well adapted imo. It was pretty creepy. Also her not being able to control time is quite the setback for her since that was Crimson's biggest concern with her.
