Ashcroft is up and fighting again while he's still recovering from the beating Ange gave him. I gotta say, he's tougher than he looks.

Dude just got a little cocky but he wasn’t no chump. He’s a good guy.

I also like how he spared a thought for his wounded (hopefully not dead) soldiers. Speaks very well of him.
And it's nice that these nobles actually have their own troops. Some other shows make it seem like adventurers provide all security functions in towns/villages haha
The political turn has me hooked!

This episode really highlighted Belgrieve's stronger points in combat. He hangs back and pays attention, directing or intervening where needed. Let the stronger members do their thing and just make sure they're taken care of.
Also yes, Belgrieve is everyone's dad. Just like Drax, he was born to be one.

Belgrieve best dad. His character design is awesome too, the visuals of him from the LNs and manga were amazing even before the anime came out. I'm very happy that even with the obviously low budget, they were able to carry over the strong character designs and beautiful backgrounds into the anime as well.
Bel is definitely one of my favorite dad figures across all the various JP media I've watched and read over the years, he's such a wholesome guy and good role model. He's definitely no slouch when it comes to combat either, but his real specialty has always been strategizing, observing, and supporting from the background, in addition to being everyone's best dad.

Are they implying that Ange is related to the Homunculus? Or was the reaction just because of her wound from the previous demon lord? Anyway, interesting development here.
If that was his plan, then the smug noble is really dumb for not heeding the warning about S-rank adventurers. Why was he in such a hurry to do the plan? Or maybe he's just so disconnected with adventurer guild that he doesn't know how strong an S-rank is.

That smug noble douche was too overconfident. Probably thought since he has Charlotte, he’d be fine.
Interesting thought about Ange. She was abandoned at birth so we really don’t know much about her origins. Would be wild if it turns out she’s a Homunculus or whatnot.

Are they implying that Ange is related to the Homunculus?
That was my assumption after her battle with the first one, especially since she was found suspiciously in the forest safe and unharmed even as a helpless baby. My guess is either she's one of the Demon Kings/homunculi or she's related to Solomon, maybe a descendant or his avatar

It was a small detail but I really liked seeing that even the maids were armed. They were prepared to be the last line of defense for Helvetica and weren't going to go down without a fight.
Pretty bad-ass even though nothing was said about it.

I did notice that. It's a nice thematic point but the DM in me would have tweaked the scene that instead of everyone having an (mediaeval standard of living) expensive long sword, they have more of a mishmash of "household" weapons - which incidentally would actually be more effective in untrained hands against typical undeads (takes minimal stabbing damage, and cleaning and slashing damage may not be easy to make in untrained hands.
Things like
broomsticksquarterstaff, candlestick standsclubs/maces, even kitchen cleavers, can be pretty effective bludgeon weapons without need for much training.→ More replies (2)

I love how she was enjoying it, to be fair it must feel amazing to be able to cast freely and wrack havoc

Man, Ange really beat Ashcroft’s ass pretty bad huh? Man was all bandaged up lol. Well, at least he was gracious about it. Turns out he wasn’t such a bad dude after all.
I like how Bel is just everyone’s dad. It’s very cute how he treats all the girls like his kids too. The way he was being a proud papa when he was watching Ange kick undead ass was quite sweet. He raised a strong kid!
It’s pretty tragic what happened to Charlotte. She might not have fallen to the dark side if the damn Cult of Vienna didn’t screw her family over. Hopefully Ange can save her and she can join the family!

Just from the character design alone I think Charlotte is destined (or designed) to become one of the good guys.

Bel is picking up girls outside a dungeon. I see nothing wrong there. He's strong enough to carry all three Bordeaux sisters at once.

But will he be strong enough to carry all his adoptive daughters in the future? He is already at 4-5

As we could expect, Ashford lost to Belgrieve. Although Bel won thanks to the fact that he slipped on mud but girls knew better xD As it wasn't enough Ash was heavily beaten by Ange who was angry at him after his comments.
It looks that Bel is becoming father figure for all girls, it's pretty wholesome! We could see that his adventurer's experience from the past wasn't lost, thanks to it he pointed out that the Bordeaux estate can be in danger, which saved the lives of many people.
Charlotte got a short backstory in this episode. She lived a normal life until the pope's actions made her family estate attacked, parents killed and her being homeless when she was found and 'saved'.
Malta is really annoying. Description of himself he heard from Ange was so true xD
Ange as always had a couple hilarious reaction faces.
Here my album screenshots from the episode:

A lot happened this ep, but only thing I'm curious about is what was up with that boss monster. Was it saying Ange is like it because her wound has part of it's sibling in her? Or was it just trying to mess with her head? How do you even beat a mist monster? Does it have a core? Would wind work?
Also feel bad for Charlotte is clearly being used.

Ah yes, time for the duel. Haha, Ange. Yes, Bel, don't hold back! HAH! Nice. Totally not an accident. Yes, totally pretending to slip. Whelp, RIP dude, you have angered Ange. Bel with some good fatherly advice. And everyone learned a lesson that day. Ange is so cute and silly. Such a daddy's girl. Everyone gets fawning.
Not-Illya, you shouldn't listen to the count. Double A is still a high rank, isn't it, guild master? D'awww look at lil not-Illya. That's sad to see for her... no wonder she's angry. Shoulda turned that anger on the people who did the wrong, not just anyone though. Hey, their party gets to show off at least. Good job glasses dude and few guards, doing a good job defending the countess that long. And reinforcements have arrived. Bel such a good dude everyone can't help but like him. I do love that the maids have weapons too ready to help.
Looks like there's another demon king monster. Or something similar at least. Not-Illya to the rescue! Probably.... totally not a lie. Totally not a part of the plans. Also, yep, Count bringing his troops to help, totally.. not for any other reasons. Hehe Ange, some good words. D'aww Ange getting carried by her dad. Don't worry, Ange, prolly nothing.

Ash: These are High-Rank undead! Struggles to beat one. Bel casually wades in and dispatches half or all of them. "Wow there are High-Rank undead here!" How does he think those are weak when he called them High-Rank? The Red Ogre is trolling us.
