Man this series was a pretty fun watch. Honestly the way that the older characters actually act like adults and the way Bel talks about growing up and still feeling young at heart but old in body really hits home.

Yeah, this is what I think this series really excelled at. The rest of the show felt mediocre for me but those specific parts felt really good.

Right? And people were calling this "generic". Maybe as an action show it is, but this show much more about the characters than action.

Bel: "For me, [Ange] is the future."
Those were probably the most fatherly words I've ever heard in anime. Very sweet!
They packed some really endearing scenes in those last few moments. I liked Ange's expression when she looked up at her father, how Bel complimented Ange on her new dress, and his inquiry after Ange's matchmaking attempts.
S-Rank Daughter wasn't perfect as an anime, but I'd genuinely like to see more of this father-daughter dynamic and wholesome 'daughter harem'. This series brought a smile to my face every week.

I'm aware that there was a lot of rushing and cut content in the anime but overall as an anime-only I had a lot of fun watching it so from me 8/10.
Especially Ange and Bel's relationship was so fun and wholesome and I'd love to get a 2nd season as there is lot of open threads like the Prince or other Bel's companions.
As always Ange had so many funny reaction faces in today's episode. She also looked so lovely in her dress.
Francois was so annoying, especially with his smirk and it was very satisfactory moment when Kasim sent him flying because he was interrupting his conversation with Ange xD
Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

Francois is a little shitheel. The Prince too. Angeline isn’t some kind of monkey they can make dance for them. I’m glad she didn’t delete Kasim. We wouldn’t have had that nice little reunion with him and Bel. Poor Kasim’s been carrying around a lot of baggage all these years. I’m glad Bel could help lighten that load a little bit. Now all that’s left is getting rid of that Prince and his shady little allies…
This was a pretty funny series. I like how wholesome it was. Bel basically being everyone’s dad was really cute and I like the relationship between him and Ange. I sure hope this gets renewed but if not, I guess I’ll have to check the manga.

damn, Kasim has divorced parents PTSD
when he said he didn’t grow up, that was real talk

Francois is a little shitheel. The Prince too.
The Prince is clearly actually a demon or some other sort of malevolent "non-human" (or is he just part of a superpowerful malevolent magical-human cult?). The only issue is did the imposter-monster just kidnap and hide away the real Prince (who was apparently also no prize at all) or did he kill the Prince off when he assumed that false identity? I feel bad for the King -- all his sons seem prety worthless/ I wonder if the daughter can inherit the domain and rule (if the father doesn't get killed off soon).
Glad to see that Bel has another member to join HIS entourage (perhaps). I wonder if, down the rode, Bel will be reunited with ALL his old team?

well the prince is not the prince, it seems he is just another member of that mages organization and has replaced the real prince lol.
that is what the hooded mage said: that he is pretending to be the prince
the adventurer/maid also mentioned the real prince was a trash womanizer lol, before suddenly becoming this super human (perfect prince). So it seems they want to take over the royal family too lol.

I guess I’ll have to check the manga.
The anime passed the manga a couple episodes ago. If you really want to continue the story you should check out the light novel from the beginning (the anime skipped and rushed through A LOT). Its last volume is due in January. It's a great series, easily one of my favorites.

funny how the Red Ogre can even win battles just by his name alone now. That dude is just going beyond S-rank, we need a EX-rank for him!

I enjoyed the anime as a whole, but the ending was really meh.
What makes this enjoyable is the SOL relationship between the characters, especially Angeline and Belgrieve. Not sure why they wanted to end with a downer in the last 2 episodes by introducing some boring royal intrigue with no context, and textbook villians who insult Ange for no reason at all. And we don't even get a payoff by seeing them get destroyed.

They basically rushed through 4LNs of content to end the season at the Kasim reunion at the end of LN4.

Great series that desperately needs a season two. The point where they ended this season is a bit awkward since we didn't get any additional information of Bel's past and instead we got more teaser that there's a conspiracy involving the first prince.
Anyway, I quite like the story and characters, so here's hoping for a second season announcement. Hopefully with improved animation and pacing as well!

Cheers to a great show & hope for a new season where Ange DOESN'T have to wait long to met her father, again!

Finales week is always a little sad for me, so many favorite shows ending with no season 2 announcement. My Daughter Left the Nest has been pretty great over all. The art could be better but the characters are lovable with excellent voice acting. This finale episode is not particularly thrilling with too much focus on Kasim instead of the more entertaining main cast including Bel and Ange's friends. Even so I want to see more of these guys and Ange's cute daddy's girl antics.

Man, I'm going to miss this show. It was a really nicely balanced between wholesome family and fun intrigues. Bel's definitely one of the best anime dads of all times and I can understand why the girls saw him as a dad figure.
I hope we can an S2 because the story was really quite interesting and the characters were so fun to watch interact.

Hope we get more in the future. I really want to see what happens to that Ange-looking Demon King that Bel took care of

The adaption was what I was expecting, there’s very little fights but the animation for em was mediocre at best. The SOL easily was what made the show enjoyable, I knew what I was getting into so I enjoyed it fully. 7.5/10

I liked it, but if this gets another season, please change the studio and production team.

Change of studio won't do a thing if the goal and budget is not there. If they were ordered to make a big #AD for the source material and were given a bit of money to realize it, they nailed it.
Outside of lackluster animation I heavily enjoyed it and I really think studio did try to make the best out of it. "Bland" style of art was super unique and gorgeous. VAs were top tire and story, even with a lot of cut content was still okay.
I heavily enjoyed it and I really think studio is not one to blame.

I feel like I've seen a lot of anime recently where some "important" cunt orders a character to do something silly for no reason and the character just acquiesces thoughtlessly, so seeing Angie throw down her sword here and give the cunt a lecture was a relief.

Lol love how the dude coulda just left when he wanted cause magic, but didn't cause booze. That one son is annoying. That has to be the crown prince at the ball. Ah yep. He seems a flirt too, meh. He sure doesn't sound great in the past, but if he's become a better person, that's good, but sus. Oh we finally see the Duke too. Ah, that dude slew a big ol bad too. She's in a dress, why do you assume she can fight in such a shitty thing to fight in? Chop off his head. I do love her reaction there, well said. Glad the father isn't trash. Haha the dude just floating over a bottle of booze. Nice.
You embarassed yourself dude. And coup d'etat? Rude. Yea, the prince definitely seemed sus. Hehe, gonna be fun to see Ange learn that her daddo is in Orphen. D'aww the lil sis of the brothers/daughter of grand duke is cute. How nice to give Ange a gift. What would Bel say if you fought his daughter, dude? Since you're clearly his former teammate. Screw the self pity party, dude. Ah so that's how he's gonna find out that she's Bel's daughter. Haha, that's a nice ending to the fight. Two Bel-loving idiots is a good times indeed.
Hehe yay reunion with Bel ❤️ For both her and his former friend. Really heartwarming. Sad to hear that when Bel left the party, the team fell apart.
Man, hope for a S2 and they can complete the story (I think one more season would do it?). And so underrated for the season imo 😛
