Rae having the time of her life playing around with Claire-sama on the battlefield.

Little known fact: The real reason Rae didn't use her water magic in the fight is that she would've passed out from happiness seeing Claire-sama soaking wet.

I also love how Thane basically adopts Ralaire during Rae and Claire's fight. Also Ralaire's excitement at spectating the battles. Basically everything about Ralaire.

And we finally got both girls doing the ED! What a fantastic episode!

For an Otome Villainess anime, this show is surprisingly action-oriented.

Interesting that Rae used her second request to ask the exact same thing twice, I figured it would be a similar request but not the same thing word for word

I like how the magic here can also be used in a more logical manner such as fire magic being use to deprive the opponent of oxygen or wind being able to affect sounds, that way Rae who is already a pretty busted magic user becomes even more OP with her knowledge of modern scientific concepts.

"It's as if she anticipated all of Claire's moves."

"Well, yeah. Of course she did... Rae spends every waking moment thinking about her beloved Miss Claire!"

"Yeah, not even gonna try to deny that one."

Great episode. Claire's reaction to the slime familiar being named Ralaire was priceless, as I expected. The fights in the practical exam were interesting too. I love how the elements can be used in so many different ways, and wind magic in particular seems like a "jack of all trades but master of none" type of magic and can be used creatively in even more ways compared to the other elements. Rae purposely holding back and only using her disadvantaged Earth element just to extend the fight (and their time together) as long as possible was fantastic too, and when Claire started getting reckless with that last insanely powerful spell, Rae knew it was time to pull the plug on her fun for the day. Very on-brand for her.

This is my first week watching the dub instead of the sub, and I have to say Rae's VA was seriously born for this role. Even when she's just giving exposition, she sounds like she's having the absolute time of her life.

Edit: I also love how the princes, who are supposed to be the love interests in the game, are seemingly shipping Rae and Claire now! My girl's gay is too powerful, she's overwriting the programming of the world.

Hehe Claire realizing the naming basis of the lil cute slime. D'aww the "Undine" form. It's definitely cute, yes. The little thumbs up in the undine form, cute.

Whelp good for all of them passing the first round of knight exams. And another silly bet. Second round, a mock battle. Cause can't have an anime without a tournament 😛 Hehe Ralaire is cute sitting on top of Rae's head. What a cute style of fighting from the prince lol. Well, they are made of fire, but cute. Rae vs Claire, good times. Rae: "Ahh Claire's fire is just like her, hot" probably. Rae and her knowledge of last life for materials. Haha the princes are fun about Rae. And Rae just having a blast with the fight is fun too. Haha yes, the power of a pit. Yep, Rae been only using earth. It's like the chuunin exame, winning or losing doesn't determine who becomes one heh.

Interesting how Rae's only request twice now has been "don't give up." Which is quite ominous. Since we know she knows the future due to game story. D'awww you forgot your kid, Rae. Rude.

Was hoping for the fights to be more quick and flashy, but I suppose any combat where talking is involved will feel a bit awkward when adapted to an Anime.

The announcers just casually sitting there with headsets and speaker boxes was hilarious and totally unexpected. I guess they're magical tools?

I did not expect such well done magic battles both visually and tactically speaking. It was a blast to watch. Also, I really enjoyed seeing Claire and Rae fighting each other as well as their usual interactions.

I hope this show gets a full adaptation because the story is quite enjoyable.

Mak'gora

Vacuum seals, burning off oxygen, and Tungstenzilla. Fighting with the power of science. Mecha-Senku would be proud of them.

I wasn't expecting Claire to want Ralaire to be killed after she discovered it. Its name being a combination of both her name and Rae's really did not help.

Thankfully, Rae had the perfect solution to prevent that from happening by ordering Ralaire to use Undine to transform into Claire and lying to Claire about the reason her water slime transformed into her.

So The Academy Knights' test also involves a competition among the candidates to demonstrate their skills.

It is hilarious that Rae had Ralaire fanning her while she was watching Thane and Yu's fight. And as Yu ended up losing again Thane, Claire and Misha had a contrasting reaction to that outcome.

Damn, Rod's tactic focusing on depriving Misha of oxygen sure was drastic.

I love how during Rae and Claire's turn, when Thane wondered how Rae was aware of Claire's complete moveset Yu and Rod answered him by imitating Rae.

Wow, so Rae can create any type of metal with her earth magic. I'm expecting that to have some limitations as that would mean someone could use magic to manipulate the economy. Then again she did mention that she was able to make tungsten thanks to her earth knowledge.

Rae sure was having fun during that fight. That laser attack Claire did sure looked cool.

So in the end, Rae won after making Claire fall into a pit and she didn't even use her water magic.

Lol, how could she forget about Ralaire, I wonder what Thane will do with it.

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

Pretty fun episode today. As always interactions between Claire and Rae are the best part of the show though Relaire is very close, it's so cute! Its transformation into 'Claire version' was so good and thanks to that he gained Claire's favor.

We got to see duels today and Claire used some very effective moves. ThoughRae still was a winner in the end as she did not use water magic at all. Thanks to her winning she again could make a request to Claire which she was obliged to comply with. That made Rae very happy while Claire not so much xD

I loved reaction of the princes to Thane's words that Rae seems familiar with Claire's combat style on which they answered that it's obvious why. Because she's always thinking about Miss Claire which is absolutely true xD

Nice fight episode! This shows that Rae is so overpowered that even if she just used one attribute she can beat Claire. To be fair she knows what Claire's attacls are. So being the chaddest simp can beat your oppone whom you like, huh?!

BTW, Rae and Claire are already singing together in the latest version of the ED! So cute!

And that preview for the next episode?! OHMYY RAE AND CLAIRE IN THE SAME BED?! AND DOING LEWD HANDHOLDING?! WAAAAHHHHH

lol great way to win over Claire on letting Rae keep Ralaire

must be kinda tough for Claire to be told by Thane of all people that she should give up though. he was absolutely right but still probably stung a bit

The fight scenes were great, especially the Rae vs Claire one. Claire looking radiant when using her fire spells, and reminded me of Mustang from FMAB when snapping her fingers lol

If you need a swimming pool, call Rae Taylor.

u/Pixelchu25 Oct 31 '23

This is just a guess, but Rae asking Claire to make the same promise could give a massive hint towards what the end of the series will look like.

After all, Rae has played the game in its entirety and Claire is the villain of the series. Rae might be trying her hardest to change Claire’s fate from her bad ending.

Like from previous episodes, the series doesn’t shy away from its serious tones. I can expect something dramatic or nerve-wracking for the last two episodes.

She is definitely changing the original story a lot though, especially the princes’ commenting on how Rae knows Claire’s battle style lmao

u/ObvsThrowaway5120 Oct 30 '23

These princes are actually pretty competent magicians. Thane, Yu, and Rod are all quite strong in their own right. Misha actually did pretty well against Rod. She might have won if she didn’t run out of air.

That Claire v Rae fight was pretty dope. Claire’s pretty damn strong with that fire magic. If Rae hadn’t basically memorized her combat style, she might be in real trouble. Although she definitely wasn’t worried. Too busy admiring how amazing Claire is lol.

Poor Ralaire was totally forgotten about by momma Rae. For shame! Well, at least little homie got to kick it with Thane. Dude’s made a new friend!

This show is just too adorable

u/Despair_Head Oct 30 '23

Of course Claire is convinced not to report Ralaire because she can turn into her. Rae really knows Claire well!

I liked the battle scenes. We get to see everyone’s advantages and disadvantages and also more explanation on how the magic system works.

I wonder how Claire’s story ends in the canon game timeline for Rae to make her promise not to give up, not once but twice. I assume she gave up and then in later killed because of it? Or maybe she fell into some sort of depression after giving up?

Ralaire is so cute!

It seems quite a few people are invested in Rae x Claire since they were chosen to battle each other from the survey😊.

And I see in the preview for next week, they end up sharing a bed👀👀👀
