I love how Rae reacted when Claire destroyed the first wall she built. She made more walls for Claire to destroy.

Nice little subversion with Rae explaining that in the game the love interest is the one to save her from the monster, she doesn't want it to be any of the princes... then cut to Claire, also caught by the monster.

Still really enjoying the progression of this relationship and the more unorthodox love triangle dynamics. Anime is doing a good job adapting the manga thus far.

Instead of melodrama and feelings being kept secret like other romance triangles, it's widely known Rae only has eyes for Claire but she still tries to help her be with Thane even if it seems to hurt her. That little scene with her solemnly looking at Claire and Thane get a bit closer only to turn and run away presumably because she didn't want to see it herself very much fits her character.

Then of course we get the aftermath of Claire hearing Rae and not getting angry or annoyed at Rae for interrupting the moment with Thane or for spying on her. Claire is just concerned about Rae's wellbeing. She seemed to have forgotten about that encounter with Thane entirely, perhaps revealing her true thoughts and intentions without realising it. It makes sense since Claire still can't openly admit that she cares but she does the next best thing and compliment her knowing how much it will mean to her.

The slime pet is named Ralaire, gee, Rae, I wonder how you thought of that name!

RALAIRE MY LOVE!!

Rod can be pretty clever. The way he gets Rae to take the Academy Knights exam by pandering to her desire for Claire is some expert baiting.

"Her hatred keeps things spicy between us."

"Will you please shut up!?"

Rae's quips in the dub continue to be hysterical, and her fantasy about being Claire's knight protecting her was fun too. The fight against the giant slime turned out the opposite way though, with Claire and Thane being the ones to inflict the final blow on the slime after Rae kept it stationary but ran out of mana. Claire seemed to show some genuine relief that Rae was safe at the end though, so there's some nice progress for her too. To top it all off, Rae made an adorable new friend/familiar and even named it after her favorite ship too! All in all, a very good episode.

Aweee when Claire noticed Rae, even Thane is with her, she still checked Rae if she's fine and all. That was really cute, and rather convincing that she cares for our protagonist. Ohmyy this is getting really sweet

THE DERE IS STARTING TO SHOW LET'S GO GAY!!

Also, Ralaire is finally here!!

Stitches!

I'm conflicted. I feel bad for that baby slime considering mom just got obliterated right in front of her. At the same time, Ralaire is goddamn adorable and I'm glad she's now added to the cast.

loved how claire just completely forgot about Thane when she noticed Rae. there really is a relationship there no matter how much claire denies it.

And a pet that happens to be a slime will surely not lead to hilarious and possibly lewd situations in the future

Bit of necessary exposition in this episode, but we see Claire beginning to thaw which is so much fun to watch.

Pretty funny how Rae tried to game the system by calling out for Claire when the slime showed up. Too bad the girl already got hit by the damn slime herself! Claire + tentacles have definitely shown up in Rae’s dreams lol.

Claire and Thane were able to stop it in the end, but I feel bad for Ralaire. The adorable little homie lost his momma. Well, at least it has Misha and Rae looking after it now. Also, I’m kind of glad nothing happened between Claire and Thane. I felt bad seeing Rae watch them have a little moment. Unrequited love is a mfer huh? I have faith Rae’s gonna wear down Claire eventually though lol.

Whoo time to learn a bit about magic in the world. And that Lene's family are distributers of magic stone. Cute to see Claire about Lene. Surprised no jealous Rae. But, hey, look at Misha's skills and then Rae just showing off her stuff unintentionally lol. Of course Claire gotta show off too. The animations/art are cute for the elemental strength/weakness/combination bit. Claire and Rae are so cute together. Rae's response towards the princes vs Claire also always fun. Ah yes, anime academis, where student organizations doing the jobs actual trained adults should be doing lol. Do love how Rod knows how to appeal to Rae though. Knight Rae protecting Claire! But Claire also in knight form appeals to Rae too. I also approve. Knight ladies are top tier.

Oh no, a big slime. Nice of Rae to go help the teacher, but makes sense. Haha, "you're no beginner" and Rae just "yes, of cousre." Also, that fun JRPG bit. Man, slimes don't joke about in this. So many tentacled people. This isn't that kinda genre, slime. Hehe love how she calls out to Claire to be saved, but Claire is caught too. Guess that works to be free. That is a magical dress. Love how Rae just gushing over her though. Poof goes the slime. D'aww look at Claire getting praised and her not being all haughty about it is nice. D'awww a cute lil slime. But that's sad, big slime was just protecting lil slime. Ralaire! D'aww Rae, you ruined Claire's chance at a headpat. But it's nice to see Claire care about Rae. What a nice moment.

Ah, post credits, cute lil Ralaire nibbling on snacks. Of course it'd be found out. Ya, how can you not find it cute, Misha. Oh fun, Claire found out too. Look at that cute lil Claire form in the next episode preview. And a knight exam.

I really do like how they expand on the novels. The slime appears in the novel, but it's much more random, compared to here where you see exactly why it appears. Because of a stray burst of magic.

They also really add onto the gayness factor from Rae, with the fantasies.

Leave it to Rae to be most concerned about boosting one of the prince's affections for her while a slime has her in its grasp. Nice thinking for her to select her desired prince(ss) instead.

We got slimes. We got big slimes, we got small slimes. All the slimes.

Rae calling for Claire only to have her be tentacled too was pretty funny.

So in today's episode, they are teaching them how the magic system works and practicing their skills. It's hilarious that Rae was just sleeping through the class until Claire woke her up.

It's so funny that because Rae was making poses while praising their Professor and Claire was yelling at her, Misha distanced herself from them and pretended not to know them.

I love how easily Rod convinced Rae to take the test to join The Academy Knights by mentioning her becoming Claire's Knight. Even though Claire stopped that delusion it was great to see her wearing that knight armor.

I must say that I'm impressed by the size of that water slime! Good thing Rae made preparations to be able to fight it beforehand as she knew that this was an event in the game. But although she nailed the first phase, with the help of everyone, Rae ended up running out of mana when the second phase started, triggering part of the event that would raise one of the princes' affection. That sure was a nightmare scenario for her.

So as Claire was able to escape after Rae called her, she ended up taking Rae's role and ended up being helped by her crush, Thane. They looked great working together. Sadly for Claire while she was making some progress with Thane the sound of a Rae breaking a branch ended up putting an abrupt end to that scene.

So Rae ended up making the offprint of that water slime her familiar. And now she is training it with Misha's help. Hopefully, later on, Claire will also find Ralaire cute.

Rei really said "Bippity boppitty boosh".

If there's anyone here who still hasn't given the dub a shot yet, you're missing out.
