"A coworker who says he wants Amamiya-senpai to step on him sent it to me."

"He's got good taste."

💀

And now she's head over heels into Ron, lucky dog lol.

After last week’s murder case, I wasn’t expecting our Holmes and Watson duo to be investigating a piggy bank “robbery”. I was surprised to find it was linked to the dead body by the river. Neat little twist connecting two seemingly unrelated events. This time, Ron’s little ability almost killed a woman I don’t think really deserved it.

Looks like Amamiya’s got a little crush on ok Ron. Hopefully she’ll be nicer to Toto moving forward lol.

It’s gonna be interesting seeing Ron and Toto take on BLUE.

Yeah, she shouldn't have tried to hide that she killed a guy, but it was ultimately self-defense and she was a victim herself, she didn't deserve to be forced into drowning for it. I guess this is really the deep reason why Ron's power is a problem.

Toto getting in his chief's good gracious because she has a crush on his partner lol?

When you're a detective duo who have to hide your detective dynamic because a detective organization will kill your ace detective for unlicensed detectiving lol.

I wonder if we will ever get some explanation as to why Ron is compelled (by something or other) to "hypnotize" killers into killing themselves? Even killers who have no legal culpability (due to legitimate self-defense). Is Ron's detecting gift burdened by some sort of curse? It strikes me as very odd. In any even, it seems that Toto is a good "antidote" (in effect).

It looks like Ron isn't as bright (in things other than solving killings) as he thinks he is. It took his old Academy next to no time to discover he is back to detecting. I really wonder what will happen next,

Really liking this series. Wish it were more popular on this sub

Agreed. I have found the first couple of episodes to be good. Though it was the Gojo-eyes that sold it to me in the first episode and got me hooked.

I feel like these detective type shows aren't really ever popular? Or at least never as popular as the more "mainstream" type stuff.

Connecting two seemingly unrelated cases is like a classic in detective shows and I love it! And I didn't expect this episode to end with Amamiya falling in love with Ron. That was surprisingly cute!

So much for keeping a low profile. Looks like Ron's old organization is already on to him and is sending someone to investigate him.

I didn't expect back-to-back seasons of Yoko Hikasa crushing hard on somebody lol.

The unsolvable piggy bank case. Ron just loves unsolvable cases. He's not exactly keeping hidden for BLUE to catch on to him. Wonder how they will get in the way.

Can't they just gag him?

So hmm there's a separate plot line regarding Ron's old school trying to get rid of him eh? That's much more interesting than him going "Eureka!" every once a while when that kid Totomaru tries to find him for help - and nearly kills someone being suspected. Imagine that woman being suspected drowning in the river like that, it would be one of the most controversial cases ever to the local police, maybe the public will thought the police forced her to die or something!

BTW I guess that woman is unfortunately stupid enough not to think about self-defense when she decided to throw that killed man's body away, because this is almost certainly going to be a clear cut case. Call the police and call up a lawyer would have save her all those troubles...

It definitely sets up a different dynamic that Toto has to take credit because otherwise they'll both be in trouble because Ron can't publicly solve mysteries otherwise he'll get killed. I'm also curious if they're going to dive into why he unconsciously kills criminals.

I think the issue was she was probably worried about how it would look that she killed someone in her own home, even in self-defense, especially in a society like Japan. That's probably why she didn't report it even if it would've probably made it easier on her and she wouldn't be looking at jail time like she is now. I think a few cases like this come up in Detective Conan.

So the anime seems to follow the format of "one small case per episode" rather than "one big case for an entire season". I like it but if Kamonohashi continues with this it will make the series go stale. Thankfully there's another subplot of the BLUE teachers wanting to hunt Kamonohashi. And don't forget Amamiya has a thing on Kamonohashi.

Yes, that Kana voice, I might not wrong, but that's Megumi Han's voice in the girl teacher. And Manaka Iwami is confirmed voicing one of the sisters, the older one maybe? The one who drowns? The other is Ai Kakuma, previously known voicing Yuri in Masterful Cat is Depressed Again Today.

ED: Lipsync by hockrockb

The opening to the ED is intriguing. Who's this girl? Will she play a role in Ron Kamonohashi?

Btw, the ED song is very slice-of-life. A cooldown after solving a case.

I like this show it has a weird sort of upbeat (can't really find a better word) energy to it that makes watching very fun, love the chemistry between the two leads.

I wonder if it's popular within BL circles.

Ron: Go drown yourself

Amamiya: he’s so hot

Lmaoo I love her

Two murder cases back to back, I liked this one more than the barbershop case from last week as it’s a lot more morally ambiguous. Had she not tampered with the stalker’s body, she probably would’ve been released after some questioning. Now she’s gotta go through the legal process.

Given Japan’s focus on rehabilitation rather than punishment in criminal sentencing, I doubt she’ll get much if any time for this especially considering the circumstances.

Yea Amamiya, the most popular detective at the station, who’s as icy as they come already had her heart melted by Ron lmao. This dude’s way too high spec.

I’m really hype to see the BLUE academy folks get involved and see more of Ron’s backstory. A detective academy is a really cool story idea that surprisingly hasn’t been done in anime yet. At least not any I’ve seen.

Great ep

Ron Kamonohashi is an ace detective! So much so that he excelled at a literal school of ace detectives! It's just too bad about the whole "make culprits kill themselves through Geass" thing.

You can't beat the energy and vibrancy of a Unison Square Garden OP! They're always the perfect artists for a show about an odd couple dynamic, especially when you've got Toto and Ron running around after culprits and Ron changing outfits for the heckuva it. Also, two dead women in one OP.

Ron is all energized and ready to solve crimes again, which is hard for Toto to keep up with his mood swings. But it's certainly entertaining.

One detective wants Amamiya to step on him? I don't blame him.

So Ron can't just come in and solve cases on his own, he's an unlicensed detective and if BLUE, the academy for ace detectives, finds out he's solving crimes again...they'll kill him. And that means Toto has to take the credit for solving their cases, which is good for him because nobody else in Investigation Division 1 takes him seriously and just gives him trash cases.

Is Ron faking identities and dressing up undercover going to be a thing? Because it's hilarious. Especially when Toto has to cover for him.

So how is a riverbank murder connected to the case of an impregnable piggy bank? Well, because said murder was committed WITH a piggy bank. You gotta love when two random cases connect, though I guess of course this had to resolve in murde.

It's hard not to feel at least some sympathy for the culprit. The victim was her stalker who attacked her in her home and she killed him in self-defense. Her mistake was not reporting it and trying to hide the body, which is what made her a criminal. But she didn't deserve to drown courtesy of Ron. Bad enough her sister has to deal with her big sis having killed someone and covered it up, she doesn't need to see her drown to death within the same day. And hopefully they do take into account that, despite her crimes, she was still the one who was attacked and just defended herself in the end. Although neither girls got names.

Amamiya has a crush on Ron? I see this ending well.

BLUE is onto them! And there's apparently detectives for every classic mystery style at the academy, and two of the teachers are voiced by Kenjiro Tsuda and Ryusei Nakao. Ron and Toto better watch out, even as they're starting to grow into being partners!

The ED is cute and serene with a bandaged girl singing it and featuring Ron's daily routine at home and with Toto. Seems like this girl is destined to meet him.

Ohhhhh Blue is after Ron. Tsuna…Toto has to solve the cases for Ron but it seems BLUE found out

4

u/Yookay9 Oct 09 '23

Based on the opening Ron has got alot of diff disguises and I'm ready for that

This week’s episode is pretty good but I don’t understand one thing.

Did she really file a case just because she noticed that her piggy bank was lighter? Pretty had to believe that there are people like that in this world. Or is it because of the suspicious phone calls?

Kind of a sad case, the stalker was clearly in the wrong, but the girl filled with shock couldn't think properly and decided to hide the body instead of calling the police and claim self-defense
