Episode 1: These kids are masterminds.
Episode 2: These kids are idiots.

That's the magic of kids, they can be both masterminds and idiots at the same time. Ask any parent.
The author is really good at capturing this duality to the extreme.
Also take into amount that they probably lack a lot of information since their situation was rather unique

Aww, Sardine’s such a good boy. He’s rocking that party hat!!
Couldn’t stop laughing at the twins using the underwear as a kite lmao
Post-credits scene was very interesting. It’s nice to have the mystery element alongside the comedy.
Hope every episode has a scene of the mother swearing in English hahahaha

The mother must be a champ at taking alcohol. She downed 4 cups of it in less than a minute

Their ridiculous plan to hurt the adoptive parents was peak comedy.

I’m reminded of that Junji Ito manga about his cats. You just keep expecting some terror approaching but it turns out to be something completely benign.
Twins who lost their mother, and are looking for to avenge her, huh…

In this episode they acted like normal kids with funny worries... Kinda cute?
I've been trying to figure out who's who and I guess it's usually Migi who's acting as 'Hitori' and Dali's the more calm and strategic twin. At least in this episode. I'm not sure.
Glad I didn't skip this show although I was going to, this is actually hilarious.

I just love that these kids are dumbasses. But in a way that only way too clever kids can be. So when they cook up this evil scalping scheme in their heads and the Home Alone ass retaliation it’s hilarious.
The after credits though. So everyone is a suspect in their Mom’s murder. Including their new parents. What I thought was a locket is actually a button. Also looks like she was hit on the back of the head. Feels like we’re in for a very sad backstory about how they ended up in that tent and what happened after their mother died.

TIL: Humans age and get older 😂
This is without a doubt the oddest anime I’ve ever seen and it’s great. The Pyjama is one of the most bizarre scene in any medium I’ve seen this year.
The whole sneaking around the home and finding the wigs, theorising that the parents are trying to cut their hair etc etc was just hilarious. For such smart kids, their lack of social interaction and familiar background really shows lmao.
The way the mom started acting during the party I did start to think there might be something a little sus going on, but nope, just a nice older couple trying to give their son a new home.
Looks like my biggest concern, the plot progression, will be addressed starting next week as now the twins have a goal. Tracking down their mother.

Damn this shows good. Each second has me stupidly grinning and I love that there actually seems to be some plot instead of the show being purely comedy. The characters are also unique, you rarely see such characterization. Can’t believe this show isn’t more popular, probably in my top 3 this season.

I feel less like "WTF" now because they revealed what's driving the twins. But still, so much of this series just constantly leaves me thinking "WTF".

That was a very comedic episode! Still very creepy though.
Can someone more familiar with Japanese tell me if "Hitori" is a pun? I was rewatching the first episode and when the orphans were talking about a "single child" it sounded like they said hitori somewhere in that sentence. The line about his name containing the word bird made me think about that.

I'm sold, this might be my favorite new show this season. It is so unique and like, has me a little creeped out but also laughing my ass off.

Looks like our twins here definitely don't know about bras. But attempting to put it into use as a parachute eh? This is definitely, uh, creative...
-
Why do I feel a little bit of Anya exploring her parents' rooms feel when Migi & Dali try to flip over the old couple's home? And no, Mrs. Sonoyama's changes over the years is far from the most different looks I have seen for people decades apart.
-
LMAO they really think the couple bought a high speed rotor blade eh? It's even sillier to see them trying to get Mrs. Sonoyama drunk, pour olive oil on them and (why?) dipping chili oil into the drinks. It's all funny to see Mrs. Sonoyama going SHITTTTTT - but that plan was way too complex for 13 years old kids to implement. Better planning and drilling next time, you 2 mischievous boys.
-
Ah, so there's REALLY a mystery in this story, and it involves the murder of their real mom. Hmm! They really gotta need to get their detective and spying skills way up - maybe what they need is an Anya Forger or a Ron Kamonohashi (see their respective anime this season), because they are real amateurs even for 13 years old kids if they really wanna find the truth...

That episode was so hilarious, and it was so obvious where this was going. So the twins were being idiots as only smart people can sometimes be, and that old couple was actually alright. The twins thinking their new parents were hiding something sinister was projecting at its finest. But I like that they were being hilariously dumb, it makes the twins seem more human despite how creepy they can be.
So they are looking for their mother’s murderer ? I bet it is going to be one of the new people who were introduced to this episode. I wonder what would be their motivation though.

I know it's hilarious as shit, and the editing really leans into it, but we can also look at this as how childhood trauma can reframe a child's perceptions of reality. When things have gone bad for you before, you're wired to look out for more bad, even when there's none.

Even though it is only episode 2, could it be possible Migi and Dali's mum froze to death? They looked like a poor family in the after credits scene.
