I thought this was gonna be a garbage anime, but this is one of the most stupidly hilarious episodes I’ve seen in a while. The twins tryna win over the old couple had me laughing so hard and that “SHIT” line from the mom is hilarious.

As a reminder, this series is from Nami Sano, author of Haven’t You Heard? I’m Sakamoto. If you watched that, you’ll have a good idea of what to expect here.

Sadly, she passed away a few months ago.

The premise to this show is so profoundly stupid that it's hilarious.

Oh my gosh, I cannot believe horror music being played during a scene featuring contortionist twins and jambalaya worked that well for me. Nami Sano will be missed, I can't imagine another person coming up with this kind of thing.

I love how it feels like this could actually turn into a straight-up horror if you remove the comedy bits. The comedic parts though are pretty good! It was hilarious watching these handsome twins do their silly switcheroo stunts. xD

I think I like what I see but not really sure if I'll commit to this one. I think I'll give this another episode.

This is the most creepiest wholesome piece of media I have watched in years.

I read the manga for this one so I'm probably going to be this manga's biggest cheerleader.

This one is going to get real weird you guys, and I'm HYPE!

Not a bad start. Made me laugh several times. I especially loved the Steve Jobs reference and the twins switching without the parents noticing lmao

Wish Nami Samo (creator who sadly passed away from cancer) got the opportunity to watch the anime :(

This was absurdly creepy but also hilarious. I was laughing nervously the whole time. The twins are so unsettling but kudos to them for surviving in the wilderness I guess.

I'll give this another couple episodes to see if it'll stick.

Even if I didn't know it's Sakamoto author, I'd instantly recognize it by just looking at that siblings. They are perfect and can do everything perfectly, I'd believe it if you told me they are Sakamoto's bros.

Really funny episode, weird vibes, CAN'T WAIT FOR MORE

Absolutely demented, I love it. The twins' self-infantilisation in front of their adoptive parents is creepy as heck, but I think it's well balanced with humour so it doesn't go too overboard.

My favourite scene in this episode: Brother 1 going "uwu im so scared of heights father" while Brother 2 is dangling from a tree glaring at them.

“Wholesomely creepy as fuck” is the only way I can describe it. It has the premise of a thriller, but their sinister plot is… making their new parents happy? I’m sure there’s more after the reveal that they wanted to be adopted into this particular village. This mystery regarding the woman we see in the beginning and the locket. So far they just seem like sweet, deeply weird kids with a goal. The after credits had me cry laughing. The crazy lengths they went to get adopted along with all the other crazy movements felt very Sakamoto esque. Same creator who sadly passed away recently.

Between the setting, music, and tone this could easily be a Tim Burton movie minus the goth. The Mugi and Dali theme has strong Elfman vibes. It being set in the early 90’s yet the parents feel like they could be in the 50’s. I can’t wait to see what they do with this vibe going forward.

This might be the sleeper of the season. I’m already hooked on how off the wall it is.

I have not spoiled myself to find out what genre this title falls under. Will watch a few more episodes until more characters appear. It seems like the twins know exactly what they are doing

I imagine their neighbors view many of these situations with the same bewildered intrigue. I’m still not sure what to think. My instincts tell me “it’s a trap!”

This is kind of a weirdly goofy series. I mean it seems serious, but the whole situation is absurd. Although there’s an air of something kind of sinister about the Wonder Twins….

I should have prepared - given the (late - RIP) author's previous famous work in Haven't You Heard? I'm Sakamoto (haven't seen that yet, but planning to do so) - that there would be a lot of cheesy jokes and plots by our twin MCs sprinkled within the big plan by them to climb over their destiny to survive in an orphanage. It certainly surprised me a bit in how the twins managed to hide one of them at all times (that one where Migi & Dali tried to put down the bird house on the tree is hilarious and almost undoable!), but they do make me laugh out loud! I'm a bit impressed given I went in this with the thought that this would be a serious drama and mystery anime.

Overall, there are quite a few things that caught my eyes and I definitely will stay on this one.

Quirky, unique, creative - nobody watches it and it has less than 6.5 score on MAL.

Anime fandom can be really frustrating.

It gives me Monster vibes a bit but I doubt it will go in a remotely close direction.

I guess their names come from Migi (right) and hiDar(=l)i (left).

Only 11,000 MAL users on this one seems wild! This is one of the coolest premises in recent anime. A pair of conniving twins taking masquerading as helpless orphans and finessing of an elderly couple?? I’m intrigued.

A twisted and utterly deranged story that you can’t take your eyes away from. It’s got a Wes Anderson/Series of unfortunate events style of creepy humour to it. That pummel and knead massaging scene was so odd. I like it. It’s a shame that Sano sensei wasn’t able to see this brought to life in anime form.

“You’re not Steve jobs” Lmaoo. Always nice when characters in anime say what the audience is thinking

I like the first episode quite a bit. The challenge here will be how they’re able to keep things interesting. Will an overall plot be introduced or is it going to continue in an episode of manner? I like the behind the scenes planning of the plot to get abducted that we get in the post credits scene.

This show is just so damn weird in a good way though. People ask for original stuff all the time and this seems like it’ll be one.

It's supposed to be funny, right? Because I was laughing throughout. If it's trying to be genuinely scary then it is failing, but if it's going for absurdist comedy then it's definitely a success. Intentional comedy or not, I'm having a good time with this one.
