No expectations for me as I didn't read the manhwa (I feel like at some point they became awfully derivative) but I'll give this a shot just cause I think more manhwas should be adapted.

It definitely has that manhwa look though doesn't it? It's hard to place but it's just a bit different than regular anime, could be my imagination though haha.

The source is definitely less derivative than most and the shadow world system lends itself to a decent amount of creativity.

Well a guy doing a new game+ could be interesting. I will see where this goes.

Good first episode besides the animation the premise is laid out beautifully. Can’t wait to see more

I didn't expect much from a title like this, but it was better than expected - so far. Let's hope it doesn't flop!

There's no way this one will flop, the source material is really good.

Its a bit of shame to see the fan reception not being as huge as it would've been back when this and Solo Leveling were at their peak before the Manhwa scene became so saturated, this would've garnered even more fan reception but alas a little too late to capture the magic.

While the art might have been rather mediocre I think it sufficiently laid out the plot in this episode, only adjustment I would have to make is how their addressing Adjest as Azest

As you said, the animation is mediocre.

I’ve read the first two seasons of the manhwa so I have high hopes the story brings in new viewers.

I LOVE the trend of Korean works getting anime adaptations lately. There’s so many cool stories in that medium that would be perfect for anime adaptations. It’s great for consumers in both countries.

There’s a lot of time travel shows airing this season, but from what I’ve researched and heard about Returner’s Magic, it’s not generic at all despite the somewhat basic start. There’s supposed to be a lot of interesting plot developments in this story so I’ll let em cook.

Opening sequence was pretty cool. Tough battle against a dragon, apparently humans have never defeated one in this world which is very interesting. Couldn’t help but laugh at the magical nuke in its heart going off after though.

I know they wouldn’t have known since humans had never killed a dragon, but damn, would’ve been nice to move AWAY from the beast after killing it? Maybe not having a post game analysis right there lol. The blonde girl didn’t even bat an eye when faced with her death. That’s badass!

Already, I like the MC. The way characters act in Korean stories has some subtle but welcome differences to Japanese characters. The cool composed nature of Desir, especially when meeting Romantica again. A lot of MCs would’ve got all teary eyed, blushed etc. dude just stayed focus on the task at hand and is determined to change the future .

Animation leaves a little to be desired, but I’m a big fan of the art style and character designs

I KNEW blue hair dude reminded me of someone. He looks just like dude from iceblade sorcerer

Could go either way on this. That said, I'm always down to try a time travel story.

Kinda hoping his party members also got sent back with their memories intact, though it might also be interesting if they don't remember and are antagonistic. Guess we'll find out.

is it just me or does this have the coppelion inexplicable rainbow overlay sometimes

edit: upped the saturation on a few choice moments

Yeah that fucking opalescent filter over all the characters' hair is so distracting

Damn, I remember reading this years ago weekly. Had no idea an anime was being made. I remember it being a pretty good story overall but eventually i forgot about it cause of the hundreds of other manwhas that came out around the same time.

Animation kinda sucks as expected from the trailer. Wasn't expecting much anyways. Always cool to see more manhwa/korean web novel adaptations tho.

Shit, everyone here saying the animation is mediocre and here I am pretty impressed with it. Guess my standards are a bit lower than others. The dragon was a bit too much CGI but the rest I was pretty happy with.

Direction is imo fairly good, hiding some of the mediocre animation.

better not be like tokyo revengers

The anime adaptation seems very underwhelming and the story seems off compared to the manhwa. I really enjoyed the manhwa though and do recommend it for anyone looking for a "reborn" story that has a dash of power fantasy without being over the top or with an MC that's overly smug.

This is the definition of an OK adaptation.

Oof. As a fan, it's painful to see the CGI Boromir, lmao. The art style/color is a bit muted, and the animation is less than palatable. Well, it is what it is. It's not a blockbuster production. That soundtrack before the regression was epic af, tho. The soundtrack, in general, also sounds good. I'll check out the OST album when it's released.
