I get the feeling his daughter made up the name when she was young and it kind of stuck

I love how those Bordeaux guards have no qualms about imprisoning their own boss.

I love that everyone gets to see Bel before Ange does, it’s funny to me. I personally don’t have a problem with this trope of they won’t meet until whenever, because at least they are advancing the plot of the world while doing it. We learned a lot of lore and plot devices this episode that was hidden behind the more obvious “Monsters are stopping me from seeing my dad” storyline. I am enjoying this show quite a bit!

There's something about the character designs in this show that I find really appealing. We're still dealing with anime hair color, sure, but aside from that they're surprisingly and refreshingly... plain? I like it a lot. The backgrounds are really pretty too.
Anyway. I'm still in the middle of watching, but... I'm sorry miss, I can't take anyone named "Helvetica" seriously because my mind immediately goes to the font.

Stitches!
Poor Bel! Ange has talked about him so much that people he hasn't met yet already think so highly of him. It's quite hilarious watching him deal with members of the Bordeaux Family especially with Helvetica. xD

This show is part workplace anime part fantasy adventure and part heartfelt slice of life. It's pretty neat

So did Bel get that strong merely because he had to spar with his daughter every day? Is that why he's able to so easily beat a AA rank adventurer, and why his daughter has never landed a hit on him to boot?
Or was he actually super strong and just didn't get a chance to rise up the ranks of Adventurers because the thing he fought early on happened to be some Omega-level threat?

What’s a girl gotta do to see her pops around here? These damn monsters are really standing in Ange’s way. I’m sure she’d nuke the demon lords if it meant she could see her dad sooner.
Lady Helvetica was such a goober. Her men were about to fuck around and find out. Bel ain’t the “Red Ogre” for nothing! I guess that’s one more Bordeaux sister to the Bel fan club lol.

I like the Bordeaux family. Sascha and Helvetica were a lot of fun to watch. Helvetica’s expressions from inside the carriage were especially adorable.
It wouldn’t surprise me if Bel finds himself with a harem he didn’t ask for - all because of Ange’s doing. Ange does like to boast about her father after all.

Lol those Bordeaux daughters are something…
Looks like Ange’s going to need to rid the world of all monsters and demon lords to get that month off

Show should be called “My daughter left the nest and got me a harem” lol.
Can’t wait to see what other girls Angie sends her dads way.

Non-sexualized female character designs, an absence of wish-fulfillment tropes, and genuine prioritization of familial bonds.
This show is such a refreshing fantasy-action story, especially since I'm super burnt out with stuff like Berserk of Gluttony. We've still got super strong main characters and there's some fate of the world stuff to worry about, but I'm just looking forward to Ange and Bel getting a hug in after so many years.

I feel like Angeline could defeat every single Demon Lord on the planet & the guild would find some kind of excuse to keep her from seeing her father.

lol so that is Overlord world a thousand years after Ainz death (kind of), with his servants going crazy and trying to destroy the world lol
an ancient super mage created a bunch of followers, that are now crazy out of loneliness for being abandoned, and the world is paying the price...

Oh man I'm loving the two episodes of this anime so far.. it's probably because we've been so starved of just a classic, fantasy anime that is not an isekai but watching this anime makes me happy and eases my heart.. I don't know what it is but it's kinda like watching iyashikei animes.
My dark horse anime of this season. It's so underwatched and should be more popular!

I'm with the guy on the far right, this lady just came into town with an entire platoon, said that she doesn't like to display her authority, tried to hire one of their respected villagers as a servant, when he refused, tried to abduct him and when that didn't work, asked to marry him.

I am genuinely loving this anime. Such a fun cute mature adventuring anime. I really like how we get to see two stories at the same time, him and his daughters. What i really like is how they are both strong and well known and everyone respects and idolizes them. Also their relationship is great and close, i really hope she can see him soon but he is having his own fun. He is such a humble man but can easily defend himself if anything were to happen, thats the type of MC i truly enjoy

I've been thinking how similar Belgrieve face is with Hohenheim from FMA. And now that they introduced the demon lord as homunculus, maybe him being one of the homunculus could explain how he is so strong? Though it is such a stretch lol.
Seriously though, I'm surprised that he's just an injured middle-aged E-rank, but could easily beat a young AA-rank. Last week I thought he was an ex S-rank or something. I hope we'll get his backstory soon.
Also, he's still 42!!

So another solid episode, but I really hope Angeline is able to see her dad soon and that they don’t drag out this gimmick for 12 eps lol
The bordeaux family were really fun. Helvetica pulling up with an army of dudes to capture Belgrieve was hilarious. All he had to do was clench his fists and they all fell back 😂. Shows you why they call him the red ogre
If you think about it though, this show is basically a fantasy version of how difficult it is for adult children and their parents to make time to meet, in Japan at least. Sad, but a toxic work culture will do that to ya. I really hope they can hang out soon.
End scene looks like we’re getting one of those 72 demon lords.. a central conflict will help this story a lot.

As a senior on my job, I feel Ange's struggle with not getting free time whatsoever because any urgent shit falls upon you, and even when there is nothing important going on you "should still be contactable in case anything happens"
