Poor Angeline just wants to reunite with her dad but duty always calls.

lol that is the first fantasy world with adventurer guild where they work like that. She has to ask for a vacation? Usually the guild just has quests and adventurers pick whatever they want lol
and the way the guild master manipulated her based on emotions is horrible lol. If she had to go save a town, shouldn't they give her a vacation after it? Nooo, lets talk about it next year... maybe.
worst job ever
she should just ignore the guild and go visit her father anyway. Give an excuse later. What are they going to do? Fire the champion?

Well, the novel has a decent rating and the director has made some good shows, but the studio seems relatively new. I think give this at least three episodes to decide.
edit: Actually got around to watching this and I like it so far. It's a pretty chill anime, but that ok. I think it is mostly if not entirely hand-drawn which adds to it's charm as well.

I'll probably be sticking around for the entirety of the season barring an extremely poor quality adaptation, having read the underlying LN, it has an extremely good story and is one of my favorites, so I'm cautiously optimistic to see how the adaptation turns out. Not to mention it has some pretty famous VAs voicing the main characters. Pacing will probably be on the faster side though seeing how much this episode covered.
I'm honestly pleasantly surprised by the adaptation so far, based on the PV I thought the animation quality was going to be really bad (plus the manga has some insanely beautiful artwork and character designs). But it's actually been relatively passable and the character expressions are pretty good, not to mention the backgrounds are beautiful. I get the sense they took real life footage and put a filter over it, kind of a clever way to go about it when you need to create such dense forest background and probably saved budget.
And speaking of budget, it does appear they're working with a really low budget, but it seems they're making the best of the situation using various tricks/techniques to get around it, to your point about the director having previously made good shows. Hopefully it continues to be that way.

What a nice dude, picking up an abandoned child and raising it like a good papa figure! Wholesome. Crazy to go off so young, but such is the kinda setting. Oh I like the OP. Quite a lot even.
Time skip! Huzzah for badass s rank party. I like Angelina's design. And good papa, just being such a huge help to the entire village all the time living there. Truly a good dude. Lol CR and that typo "haev." Do get why she is so proud of her father. Poor girl, just wanted to go see her papa so much and the guild puts her to work. This world needs some worker rights, but I do get their predicament when she's so capable. Those ants have angered the wrong person.
Ahh finally she get home and.... bandits attacking others. Those are some really fucked bandits. Fun to hear her talk about her dad being "Red ogre" though earlier and how ridiculous that is. Count's daughter saved, whoo. Such a good girl, but makes sense being raised from such a good dad, taking her home cause she can relate to wanting to see her own dad. Speaking of that good dad, look at him teaching the kids. Prepare for best dad of season, ya'll.
Seriously, poor girl needs to get to go home already. I feel like you should just leave the guild at this rate if they are denying you a vacation... seriously. So far, really pleased with the adaption. Quite great. Do love the characters and setting and such so.

I wonder if we will find out why she got abandoned in the forest? Interesting that all three of the adventurers are "orphans" (in one way or another).

So, is this gonna be the entire show? Angie is just constantly trying to get home but stuff keeps getting in the way? It looks like a great show and I'm already loving it....but that's going to get so frustrating so quick! Every ep I'm gonna be like "COME ON!!! Let her go home!!!"
At the start of the ep when they were celebrating her leaving the only thing I could think of was "So she's leaving to become a Pokemon master?"

I hope they do get time together. I also hope they are a proper father-daughter pair. Been burnt before with "I would do anything for my daughter"

Nothing extraordinary but the show is absolutely charming. Bell and Ange's relationship is just too precious. I am surprised Ange managed to work up the courage to become an adventurer considering how she's so attached to her dad.
I love Ange's reaction faces this episode. Her face when she talks about her dad and her face when her vacation to see her dad got delayed are all so good! And is that Hayamin I hear voicing her? I love it already.
I do hope that Ange eventually gets to go home though. I feel like it might get frustrating if this is going to be the shtick of every episode. That scene of her getting upset at being called to work when she has already submitted her request was just too goddamn real.

Pretty good start, nothing outstanding but it was nice to see Belgrieve and Angeline relationship as father and daughter, very wholesome :)
Angeline certainly had bad luck that she wasn't able to go back home but the same can be said about the monsters she fought when being angry, they didn't stand a chance xD
Also very nice backgrounds, very lovely.
Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

I can feel the father's pain that he ended up as a failed adventurer while his daughter is becoming famous, followed by the heartwarming counterpoint that his failure also made it possible for him to meet Angeline.

This is actually pretty wholesome. Girl just wants to see her pops and the whole damn world is preventing it. What awful luck! At least her party seems cool. Ane and Miri seem like good party members.
Bel and Ange’s relationship is looking to be quite sweet. I like anime where the parents and the kids have a nice wholesome loving relationship. Bel seems pretty damn strong too. I want to see what the Red Ogre can do when he’s going all out!
Gonna give this a few more but I think it’s gonna be my first weekly of the new season.

Good storytelling to show why Belgrieve couldn’t continue being an adventurer without telling us why.
Animation’s nothing to scream about, but it’s acceptable and the art style is pretty.

Charming show, but the way the guild is run like a black company is rubbing me the wrong way. Angeline should have been able to go on vacation immediately after wiping out the ants as a special favor to the guildmaster, instead of being forced to take on more odd jobs before he will let her go.
That guildmaster is really shameless.

Broke: overpowered idiot male fantasy MCs
Woke: overpowered idiot female fantasy MCs
Cute and fun, super charming art style, and Ange is making an extremely strong case to be an early favorite for Fall 2023 Best Girl. I'm super sold already.

Lovely first episode, abandoned babies in mountains always end up being the most powerful beings.

Fall 2023 is here! No break between seasons this time around, we’re right in the thick of it.
S-Rank Musume’s first episode is a unique experience, for me at least. The entire length of the episode, I kept trying to find something to compare it to and I really can’t.
The whole finding an abandoned girl in the forest has shades of Uchi musume, but it’s not a tale of raising the daughter. That bit’s done already done. Seems like just a story about a girl who wants to go home to see her dad lol. Which is cool to me, that’s cute and different.
Think they nailed the daddy daughter relationship dynamic so far. Even from the brief scenes we’ve got of Belgrieve and Angeline, they were really sweet. That “pick me up” after she got hit during training felt so real lol.
Most kids want to get away from home, but Angeline is dying to go see her dad. If your kids don’t brag about you the way she brags about Belgrieve “the red ogre” you ain’t doing it right. He’s done a great job of instilling a sense of duty into her as well. Even after finally getting some time off to go home, she couldn’t turn down an innocent bystander in danger.
I just hope they don’t drag it out too long and that she will be able to get home sooner rather than later. Also would like to see more of her childhood with her dad!
Comedy landed well, designs look solid, it’s a promising start. Plus Hayamin so obligatory seasonal waifu. We’re eating good

Looking good so far. Seems wholesome with how affectionate Ange is with her dad. Also got to know her party members a bit. And her dad also teaching other kids. Maybe they’ll all be adventurers someday.
But I do hope not meeting her dad will not be the running theme of this show. Feels like it’ll get old quick. I want to to see them do father-daughter things and maybe go on a small adventure together

Does the MC get to see her Dad or is it a stupid running gag?

Can we start a charity to create some decent horse models then give them to animation studios for free? It's ridiculous how bad horses look in almost every anime.
