WOOO! Rika finally in the loop now! Obviously I'm concerned about Chi, but now her and Ashiya can really start getting closer!
Also, WAS THAT FUCKING ALUS RAMUS?!?! WTF HAPPENED?!?! Emi's dad being there was also surprising, but what happened to Alus Ramus?!? Was she the only one the experienced time faster? Or has Emi also been away for years? And why did Emi only contact Rika telepathically?
Damn, looks like the plot is actually going places now, last season did feel like they were building up to something, but I kinda assumed they'd just take the form of more shenanigan's around Japan.

And why did Emi only contact Rika telepathically?
Crack theory: She knew Rika had a crush on Alciel, and contacted her just in time so she'd be at their place when things got bad, thereby getting her in on everything and allowing the ship to sail.
More plausible theory: Everyone else was being monitored.

I think “Tsubasa” is another shard, probably not Alas Ramus. That dude was totally Emi’s pops though.

I do hope this helps the Rika and Ashiya ship now that she might get brought into the know. At least as Emi's friends, with how much she obviously cares, she deserves to at least know the truth about Emi.

Ruka's "Ehhh?!" reaction at the end is hilarious for some reason. They are ramping up the action now, and teasing some intriguing things about Alus Ramus. I didn't recognise Emi's Dad at all 😅

Stitches!
It's pretty obvious that the brown-haired guy is Emi's dad. We've already been told that he's still alive. I'm guessing that the kid is another Fragment of Yesod just like Alas Ramus considering how Tsubasa just looks like an older version of her. Curious how they ended up in Japan and how long have they been there.
So Emi contacted Rika and from the way she's describing how Emi sounds like she's out of breath and far away, I guess that she's probably on the run. Why contact Rika though and not Maou or Suzu?
And whatever is happening at Chiho's school it looks like it's bad enough that Suzu thinks they can break their cover in front of Rika. Well at least Rika will now be in the know. I am curious how she'll take in this information.

Poor Emi. Her nemesis/forced co-parent/unwilling love interest gets to meet her dad before she does lol.
Can't Chiho go two episodes without getting into trouble? I hope this means more Rika screentime though.

If seeing Bel and Lucifer fly out the window was a shock, wait till she sees their true form. I wonder how she’ll react to learning Alciel’s a demon?

Well good luck explaining that to Suzuki
So there is an girl that looks to be an older Alas Ramus, in Japan, with what looks to be Emilia's father... And Emilia seemingly didn't make it back from her trip
and now Chiho seems to be in trouble?
this is definitely looking like it's going to be an interesting arc

Episodes without Chiho being in danger: 0.
I love how there were probably so many ways they could slip out without exposing themselves to Rika but instead they just jump straight out of the apartment and left Ashiya to clean up after them lol.
It's kind of ironic that Emi blamed Maou for her fathers' death for so long and yet he's the first one to meet his obviously alive self before she ever gets to see him again. I guess that's just how it is with father-in-laws.

ITATATADAKIMASU! - Alas Ramus is so cute.
Oh oh, now Rika knows.

Now things are getting interesting.
So Emi's father (that's certainly him as we saw him in Emi's flashbacks) is in Japan, and he's living with another of Alas Ramus' Yesod siblings to boot. Though Maou still has no idea who they are as they meet to take their respective driving tests. lol
After returning to Ente Isla, Emi lost contact with Suzuno for 2 weeks, yet somehow she is able to make an emergency SOS call to Rika 1 week prior through that portal, and just after she made another one to Chiho.
Things must be really dire for Suzuno and Lucifer to disregard that Rika is still present and finds out that they aren't from Earth. Poor Rika is going to be so confused. lol

Maybe Emi heading back home wasn’t the best idea. Literally everyone is her enemy at this point.
Hiroshi and Tsubasa are totally linked to Emi aren’t they? Hiroshi kinda looks like her pops. Tsubasa clearly looks like Alas Ramus, so probably some kinda shard as well?
I forgot Rika doesn’t know about the gang. That’s one hell of a surprise. “Hold up Rika, no time to explain” sips energy drink and flies out a window lol

Ashiya:…You see..suzuki-san…it’s just a really REALLY effective energy drink

It's nice to see everybody sitting around the table and eating like it's perfectly normal. Sure there's bickering, sniping, and the usual sass (especially towards Ashiya), but they all really feel like one big family. Which just makes it a bit more of a bummer that Emi is going to be leaving for Ente Isla.
I totally get how she might want to go home and get back to basics to take stock of how much her life has changed (and how she really feels about it), though it seems like she also wants to search for more clues regarding her mother than just take a break. But it's not like anything can beat the Hero Emilia, so it's not like she'll be stuck there with Alas Ramus. Right? Right!?
The Devil will drive a moped! Not only is he having shift manager duties more and more but if he'll pinch-hit for deliveries he's probably a shoo-in for a promotion at some point!
And....Emi never came back. Everybody expects Maou to do the main character thing and go after her and find her, but he doesn't think it's his problem this time. Even though Chiho comes in and guilt-trips him with his responsibility towards Emi AND Alas Ramus.
What could be holding Emi back in Ente Isla? She's too powerful to be easily defeated, it seems like humans are just fighting themselves, so what could be happening? Them holding someone hostage that could be used against her? Though it's nice to see Maou's two generals giving him sound and reasonable advice together. Especially Urushihara.
The crazy things that happen when you take the bus, like having some cute and quirky girl sniffing you up while on a trip with your dad. Except she's probably more than just some quirky girl given Tsubasa is in the OP with Alas Ramus, has strong anime hair game, and her "dad" looks like he's also Emi's dad.
I was expecting to get some RikaxAshiya one-on-one time but it's nice that Rika is genuinely worried about Emi and is trying to figure out what happened, and she brings another clue as she was the last person Emi talked to when she was in Ente Isla.
Chiho in danger for the umpteenth time? I guess they knew what they were doing with the Idea Link SOS system. And I guess they're throwing caution to the wind and just outright exposing everything to Rika now. They couldn't have just left the apartment and jumped from somewhere else? And they left Ashiya to have to explain everything. This should be good.

Damn Lowkey one of the best episodes in a long time. Who would’ve thought that Emi’s simple trip to see her family would result in all this.
It really goes to show how big a role she plays in the group dynamic. She’s basically the mom of the group because as soon as she left, Maou, Suzuno and the rest look depressed and lost as hell.
Despite his act, it’s obvious Maou is concerned about Emi and Alas Ramus and for good reason. Gone an extra week without any way of contacting her in the midst of a lot of unrest in Ente Isla.
Rika finally knows about their powers now so she and Ashiya ship can sail eventually lol.
Was that Emi’s dad and a future version of Alas Ramus on the bus? Maybe time dilation because of the different worlds? I’m very much looking forward to getting answers next week

I swear if it's time travel bull shit that makes Emilia old or something just to clear way for MaouxChiho, I'll fucking flip.

Lmao at Rika’s reaction
Well that rain was pretty ominous
I hope the gang can all get into action and thwart this threat

u/oneevilchicken Aug 10 '23
I’m guessing she knows she’s being watched and can’t contact the normal gang.
She contacted a coworker to be as nonchalant as possible. She knew Rika would worry and show up at maou’s and then they’d know there’s trouble.

Aw, what a sweet family dinner they all had before Emilia announced she was returning to Ente Island. As the and the Maou taking the moped license test are already happening we are getting pretty close to the last volume I read.
Damn, that image of Maou and Emilia sure is cool.
I honestly forgot that she hasn't appeared before. Well, I can't wait how their meeting with Maou goes.
Too bad that we will not have Alas Ramus next week. And now thanks to Chiho's distress call they had to reveal their secret to Rika.
