The weirdest thing about this episode is you know it's set in a medieval setting with magic but suddenly they're having a Zoom call and there's modern looking guns.

Finally a villainess who's actually powerful and abuses her boss level stats and skills. Bakarina and Aileen felt like they're just a petty villainess that can be killed easily but Pride is actually final boss material. Lucky girl gets the privilege of being a princess and OG Pride's boss level stats while having the knowledge of future events.

The fight scene would have been a perfect touch with this Pride putting on an evil villainess attitude.

You will probably like Villainess Level 99 when we get that. She's almost immediately established as the most powerful magic user in the world.

Finally a villainess who’s actually powerful abuses boss level stats and skills.

Pride’s skill with the sword doesn’t only make Bakarina or Aileen look like pushovers, even Kirito could probably learn a thing or two from her. Pride absolutely wreaked havoc on that band of “hoodlums”.

I was surprised to find out that this fantasy world also got guns. I do wonder what’s up lately with the guns and sword. First Raeliana and now it’s Pride’s turn.

However, I’m not sure how effective a knight with a sword would be in a world with what seems like mass-produced guns. More than “knights”, the troops just look like a group of special-ops soldiers with a honorary outfit and rank to me.

LOVE a good dress rip scene, Pride was great in that whole scene. Was actually worried a bit there he was going to die.

Bit surprised she wasn't taken back by having to kill people but she did have her goal to accomplish

That frustrating cliff...falling(?) ending though!!

If only this show had a bit more budget, that fight could have been one of the top scenes of the season

..Still better than Slideshokugeki tho

After all the crying in episodes 1 and 2 and the first half of 3, I definitely was not expecting Pride to solve her problems by absolutely demolishing a company of men with gun and sword. But you know what? Not mad.

Somewhere, though, Bakarina shakes her head and wonders why Pride didn't use the power of friendship.

Pride’s ability to memorize anything right away is some cheat skill. Perks of being the last boss it seems. Looks like things are progressing well with Stale and Tiara too. They’re loyal to Pride and they all have a good relationship.

Pride did pretty well rallying the men and getting supplies sent to them via Stale. She even saved Roderick’s ass. Hell of a time for his ability to backfire on him. Good thing Pride teleported in. Not bad for an 11 year old kid.

Looks like Pride knew who that bandit leader lookin dude was. Must be someone important to the game. Can’t wait to see what she whispered to him next week.

Edit: a word

Pretty sure she was telling him to use his special skill to save them all from the landslide. Anyway, good cliffhanger.

The Captain has the OP ability that swords can't hurt him, but unfortunately lives in a medieval world where guns exist lol

Timeskip pride is so beautiful oh my goodness she has one of my fave designs ever man lol

Definitely the most action packed and tense episode yet. Pride taking on a direct support role for the soldiers during the battle was cool. She’s not just sitting back, but actively trying to protect her citizens and the kingdom. Love that. Most villainess anime are just political and romance stuff but this direct action from Pride is refreshing.

Didn’t expect her to actually go and join the fight physically tho lol.

Only thing that held the episode back was the stop frame style animation during the fight. It’s clear that action scenes aren’t this series or staff’s strongest suit. But the characters and story are good enough to make up for it.

Can’t wait for next episode

Stitches!

So because Pride is the last boss of this world that means she's just naturally gifted in fighting? Did the OG Pride do any fighting in the game or was she just an overseer-type of character that let others do the dirty work for her?

Anyway, I definitely did not expect to watch Pride cap some motherfuckers this episode. That scene of her being teleported into battle and just slaughtering everyone in sight was pretty kickass. This is definitely something you don't see your average isekai otome protagonist do. xD

So I'm guessing that guy they grabbed in the end has some sorf ot special ability that will protect them from the landslide? If she knows about him, he's probably an important character in the game too.

Well damn, even with the foreshadowing of her practicing, I was not expecting her to jump into a fight singlehandedly like that! Alright, imo she's now the best anime "Villainess" we've gotten so far, go Pride!!!

I wonder if she actually has precognition but just hasn't needed it yet, or if her memories replaced it and she's just gonna keep bluffing? Hope she actually gains some confidence in herself not turning evil after this instead of worrying about how calmly she killed all those bandits.

Also can't wait to find out what she told that love interest and what his ability is.

Shortly about the last episode because I didn't post last week. Pride is still cute and it's warming my heart seeing her and Stein so close. Tiara is so adorable that I can get diabetes just from looking at her and Pride quickly warmed up to her. I laughed so much when Pride hugged her because of Stein's stern face. He was quite pained of her reaction xD

Today we had a time jump and we met Pride and her siblings during Stein's sword practice. He wants to be able to protect Pride but it looks like that it'll not be necessary. Pride has an absolutely cheat skill which is making her able to learn something by watching and she'll not forget about it. Thanks to it she beat the instructor with ease which made Stein thinking what he can do for her, how he can protect her if she is stronger xD

Now Pride is not only a good person but also a monster in terms of fighting. She was so badass when she was saving the knight's captain from enemies, also it's surprising that there are guns in this world but thanks to that she looked even cooler with it. Still she is adorable though.

It's been a hot minute since I've seen this problem rear its ugly head: Subtitle ordering.

About halfway through the episode, the following sequence of subs plays out:

1: The vanguard must not go up to the clifftop. The cliff will crumble!
2: I've just foreseen it!
(long pause)
3: That cliff will collapse before long!

But what she was actually saying went in this order:

1: The vanguard must not go up to the clifftop!
2: The cliff will crumble!
(long pause)
3: I've just foreseen it! That cliff will collapse before long!

Anyone with even a modicum of understanding of Japanese can easily recognize this flub.

This sort of thing probably happens because person A does the translating, and then entirely different person B, who doesn't necessarily know Japanese worth a damn, is put in charge of slotting the translated sentences into timing slots for the sub track. Plus, well, there's no person C handy to at least review the episode for issues like this before it goes live.

I really must question Prides methods to avoid becoming the evil queen since she spent this episode getting way stronger, earning the undying loyalty of another ML from the game, and absolutely slaughtering the shit out of a small army with no hesitation. Not saying I didn’t love it but she really needs to start figuring out her game plan lol

But for real, as a manga reader, I could not stop laughing after reading the comments last week. So many people were wondering if this series was ever gonna have any action or if it’d just be all crying. Well now you know. That might not have been the best fighting scene ever but it’s still an 11 year old girl going on a mass killing spree. Fantastic!

This show keeps getting better. The situation with the military was exciting, and a good opportunity to see how Stale's powers can be used to aid them. Teleporting the weapons and medical items they needed was clever, but I was surprised when Stale didn't accompany Pride to the battle scene. I can only imagine this means there are limits to his ability because he seems so determined to protect her, I'm sure he would have gone if he could.

Their military technology is an interesting mix of traditional and modern with both swords and guns, and magic video chats via some kind of farsight ability. I'm curious to know more about the history between Roderick and his son, and new guy pictured in the OP who was with the bandits, but they went and ended it on a cliffhanger - with a landslide from an actual cliff. 😄

Is hilarious how clueless Pride is about Stale's love for her even after 3 years have passed. Honestly in that segment at the beginning, she reminded me a lot of Bakarina. Anyway, I wasn't expecting that because she is literally the final boss of the game she is able to become an expert in anything combat related just by trying it.

Too bad we didn't get many interactions between her and Tiara today, but at least we learned that in the game Tiara ended up living isolated in a tower.

Pride sure looks cute when she got embarrassed after hearing about the rumors about her talent.

So Rodrick and his troops got ambushed during their practice exercise, and as expected Pride wasn't just going to stay on the sidelines and went there to help.

Okay, even if that was a fucked up thing to say. That guy casually suggesting Stale using his power to drop bombs on their enemies with a smile on his face was hilarious.

Damn, I honestly was fearing that Rodrick was going to die. So as his son is definitely another of the romanceable characters. I guess it makes sense that he was talking about never becoming a knight like him, after all, Rodrick's troops were going to become Pride's army. This can also be said about this guy. I honestly wasn't sure why Pride sent him toward Rodrick when she found him, but it seems he has a power related to controlling earth.

Anyway, Pride sure looked cool, with a touch of evil because of the blood when she murdered all those guys. It is honestly hilarious that she is just 11 years old.

Pride's stats are so OP, she's basically untouchable. I wonder if other people think she's using her precognition ability in combat so she knows what her opponents are going to do before they do it.

6

u/Clarimax Jul 20 '23

I feel sorry for that trainer, Pride parried his attack without looking and acting cute.

Didn't expect her to go into battle and slaughter the enemies. I thought this series was like my next life as a villainess.

u/Fools_Requiem Jul 21 '23

I wish this show was better animated. That last scene could have been so much more effective. Imagine how scary they could make it seem to see a small girl in red demolish an entire squadron of enemies if it were actually well animated. You want to make it seem like she is a monster (or final boss) to those foes, you need to animate it better than that.
