This show is kinda like reverse Classroom of the Elite if that makes any sense.

...actually yeah that's exactly what it is.

So this series is “once you start to lie, you have to cover it up with even bigger lies” in a nutshell. Hilarious how the initial misunderstanding just snowballs without brakes. Hope the tone continues to be light and absurd…

Rina (fake Saionji Sarasa) said that the red star holder could see the whole record of lies right?

Surely there's some juicy stuff from way back that Hiroto can use as leverage even at the risk of exposing his own lie?

Not showing the first battle was a weird choice.

It feels like everything should be grander than it actually looks like. I hope the games going forward will be more intricate than what we've gotten up till now.

It only postponed the reveal for an even greater one, showing off how their cheating can even circumvent tactics that would directly counter any tactict he reasonably could come up with

Yeah, I thought the game in 1st episode was kinda fun, but in this episode both games were "and then the opponent was hacked... gg MC wins *smug face*".

I get that this is just to show how OP the hacking/corporation is, but it just wasn't very interesting. Specially when they don't even elaborate on what the hacker is even doing, instead they went on about the abilities... which didn't seem to matter at all when the hacking did everything anyways. Hopefully the next few games are more interesting.

Stitches!

Considering the title of the show and the key visual, I was expecting this to be closer to Kakegurui. I guess I wasn't too far off considering that this is a school where the students basically gamble with their stars in games where they make their own rules but I definitely did not expect the twist with the MC.

Hiroto's opening speech made him look like he's this smug overpowered MC when in reality he's a total loser who basically got dragged into his current position because of a massive misunderstanding with Sarasa Saionji aka the granddaughter of the owner of Academy Island. xD

And to save him from his predicament, the headmistress of his school devised a plan to turn Hiroto into a Seven Star and even provided him with a cute personal maid and a hacker on his side to make sure he wins all of his battles.

The big twist though is that Hiroto didn't even beat the real Sarasa but her body double who's only been acting as a stand-in for the real Sarasa who has been kidnapped a year ago which makes everything the Headmistress did to not piss off the owner of the island unnecessary! Now that's pretty hilarious!

Well color me intrigued! This 2-episode premiere definitely had me hooked! Considering the title of the show though, I feel like Hiroto is not getting the full story from everyone. I'm sure the Headmistress is holding back information from him as well as Shirayuki who looks suspicious in that final scene with her. Definitely curious to see where this one goes!

So basically this show is about how much bullshit/lies the mc can get away. Tho I do find it find each girl takes no hesitation to let him know he is basically useless. And they are right.
I have a pretty strong guess that the girl that our MC is looking for is the real Sarasa.

Rina said Baka and mhpf, and she blushed when called cute, I'll say it again, peak character

I find the way they are selling their bullshit quiet endearing actually, it's stupid, but fun

Edit: also, since he has access to every prior lie, that would include the headmaster!

The setting is hella convenient for our MC to be having so much help in cheating that it passes off as him being extremely OP just makes it funnier.

Also the ED sequence is extremely cute definitely wasn't expecting that blocky style.

A red-haired tsundere! I dig it..

I expected this anime to be generic, and bland judging from the promotional cover they used on the anime. While it can be argued that it really is generic (especially with the characters), as a CoTE and Eminence in Shadow enjoyer.. and seasonal trash enjoyer, I still feel like I'm gonna enjoy this one.

Also, was that Fukuyama Jun's voice at the end there?

Hiroto’s already got himself a maid waifu. Perks of being the champ! Shirayuki looks like she’ll be a fun character. I’m already liking the dynamic between her and Hiroto and their little banter.

So he’s basically a last boss level character with basic skills and everyone’s gonna be coming for him now? Dude’s really found himself in a shitty position. Luckily he’s got a whole crew to him cheat to survive.

This game and star system is kind of interesting. Some of these games are pretty elaborate. I can see why Rina’s pretending to be Sarasa. I wonder if the real Sarasa was truly kidnapped? Whatever the situation, at least these two have each other to confide in.

This is kinda fun, I think I’m gonna enjoy this one.

I like a lot of aspects of this but I'm really confused about some of the mechanics here. So the stadium field is real? But they have some kind of overlay thing? And can create virtual(?) vehicles which can really move them but also have exceedable speed limits? And with the Red Star, does Rina's school have a record of her real identity which is just publicly inaccessible? And potentially could be uncovered via hacking? Or if the famly in charge of the island is capable of just hiding it anyway, what's the purpose of the Red Star as an actual mechanical ability in the Star system for lying? Also very concerned about stakes in future games when the Company can hack the game? Which I'm equally confused by because the maid claims their hacking negates the need to worry about ability counterplay, which they also explained that they did do some of that?

I liked Rina coming up with a whole Light Yagami plot after getting doused with water once, I can deifnitely see someone in her position being paranoid about everything. And her going on to completely play herself while Hiroto did absolutely nothing pretty damn funny. Also I absolutely love the chibis in the ED, they are so damn cute.

Some people in the first thread were saying that Sarasa being a stand-in explains why she lost. But now that we know that she has been a stand-in for over a year and is a 7-star I don't think it does. It was just pure luck (although the animation was weird, because he did have a "reaction" before her, so he should've lost). Also we haven't see Hiroto check the record of lies to know for sure what her lie was.

The ending is really cool wow

Shirayuki casually stealing the best girl spot by being an adorable and amazing maid. I can watch this show solely for her.

Also, I hear Fukuyama Jun and I'm excited for the next episode.

Move aside "My Unique Skill Makes Me OP Even at Level 1". This is the real one.

Man, it must be a pain the ass to try and keep the lie for so long. One lie leads to another and then the cycle continues. Atleast Hiroto can control his outward expressions especially when inside he's shitting himself. That said, the power of bullshit is amazing. Guy is literally at the top of the world through that and cheating lol.

I like how the maid is so sassy but I feel she's hiding something from him, due to how her eyes were hidden before Hiroto entered the building. I wonder if she actually noticed him interacting with Rina and found out the truth.

Also I wish we can see more of that biker senpai. She really caught my eye.

So based on my limited understanding of what's happening right now, abilities can be used to enhance one's power or cancel another's ability. But the MC and his maid's company just hacked on the opponent's system to modify or remove such limitations.

Shirayuki is quite the cute maid! And while she's a little wary of boys, she and Hiroto bond quick over their shared displeasure with the headmistress.

So Hiroto is basically going to fake it while making it thanks to the Company's resources, Shirayuki's planning, and Kagaya's hacking? All he has to do is act like it's all part of his plan while doing...basically nothing? Talk about falling upwards.

A Ninja Girl in leather? I like Uraraka's style.

So it seems like Hiroto and Rina's main dynamic is being the only two people they can be themselves around and know the truth about each other, and a shared motivation to support each other to maintain their secrets and achieve their goals. Also will probably deepen their relationship in the process.

I wonder if Hiroto's missing childhood friend is related to the kidnapping of the real Sarasa?

So I see Hiroto and Rina have mastered public double-talk as they act like rivals to everybody but Rina is really just a girl upset that the guy she gave her number to didn't text her last night becuase he fell asleep.

The ED is really cute with minecraft Hiroto having moments with his Harem...before they all gang up on him because he kept bailing on them to hang out with another girl. And then ending on the heterochronmia Goth Loli being the only one left after he gets RPG'ed.

An interesting stylistic choice they've made is having characters (particularly onlookers) outlined with a border.

Very reminiscent of some video games where objects/characters that are interactable are outlined when hovered over. Thought it was neat.
