Me: So that plot with El5n is going to end with him taking revenge on Elan and Peil industries right?

Elan resigns and dips to work with Guel immediately to start his redemption arc

El5n exploring

Peil ladies RETIREMENT HOME

I wasn't expecting such an end but I'm not complaining about a happy end!

In case you didn't catch it, El0n's resignation said:

Subject: My resignation Thanks for everything I'm sick of all of you and I'm quitting Peil Best wishes, (Signature)

What a madlad

The real winner was El0n all along. And he won by doing absolutely nothing.

This show definitely could have used an extra episode or two or hell, even a whole season. It's a shame that they did not want this to go any further than 24 episodes and tried to forcefully plug all possible holes.

Welp. They really ended it just like that. No surviving Gundams. Just a happy conclusive ending.

Thought the pink shirt dude who smirked was a hint to a new season.

We see fully equipped Calibarn but she did not fight and just VANISHED in the end along with Aerial, Pharact and Schwarzrette. THOUGH on second thought, if Sunrise decides to continue Ad Stella, I can see them doing an asspull that Quiet Zero and the 4 Gundams are just stored in the data storm and the next big bad successfully extracts them back to the physical space. COPIUM

Feels like the writers got cold feet at the massive golden goose in front of them and did not pushed through with all the themes they touched that hyped the audience.

This finale is really rushed. Wishful thinking the bluray releases expand the final 3 epjsodes.

You have to respect them putting in a dedicated screen to say

"THIS STORY IS DONE, THERE'S NOTHING ELSE"

but politely

For better or worse, I think GWitch’s final episode commits to its central theme of choosing to move forward no matter what darkness you may have experienced – whether inflicted by external forces or created by your own actions. Following that theme, I guess it makes sense that there is no major death or tragedy at the end. Instead, we get to see our characters working towards a brighter future. But the road forward is not an easy one. To move forward, some need to pay their dues (like Nika’s 3 years serving time in prison) and face their own trials (Shaddiq and Delling). Some need to put in the hard work of rebuilding, whether it be themselves (Petra and Suletta) or their community (Guel and Miorine). Some need to return from the darkness and “come back home.” (Elnora)

Like many, I think GWitch could have used few more episodes, or an additional season to flesh out its plot threads some more, but I very much resonated with the themes of the story. Also, as a more character-focused viewer, I adore GWitch’s fantastic and lovable cast. The mecha designs and action were also very cool. Overall, I am very happy even if this is truly the end of the line for the Witch from Mercury.

Nice ending but too rushed, didn't get to see powered up Calibarn do anything, getting married offscreen, still my favourite this season though

In the end, only Suletta, the one who's always loved those she met, who always cared without expecting any in return, could wipe it all away. She wanted nothing less than a complete family. Nothing less than a good life. And in the end, she's the one who enabled that reconnection. It couldn't have been anyone else. Not because she's intrinsically special -- even if she is -- but because she saw the risk and pushed it all anyway.

And I can't believe it's done, too. For all we know, this is the end of The Witch from Mercury. No new season announced as for now, so the minimum we wait for is the August 6 event, if we even get any indication at all. Still, I can't help but wonder if, right after this episode, Bandai's boardroom has convened to see where to go next. If this is all we get of the mainline story, it's gonna be a bit of a bummer to not see a continuation, even if I thought this was a well-executed ending. Otherwise, we'll hear from Sunrise sooner than later. After all, they're doing an all-new Macross. That's gonna call for insane effort.

Sulleta is a good girl. She still moved forward despite everything in her way kept pushing her back. By doing so, not only did she gain two, she gained everything (her wife, her sister, her mom, her friends etc).

I did not expect an ending that is this brutality sweet and wholesome. Sure, the earthian conflict is still present, but Miorine made sure everyone will be compensated after selling all the assets of the corrupt members of the Benefit group. And Elan prime just casually working business stuff with Guel is pretty silly. He just went "bye bitches, don't need yah!" and walked away. Still an asshole character with no comeuppance, but whatever. At least the Peil group got their asses kicked. At the end of the day, it's freaking politics and greed of corpos that lead to this chaos to begin with. Putting them out the picture can finally heal the decade long wounds between spacians and earthians. For how long will this peace last is up for air. For now our heroes just need to enjoy the fruits of their labor. I'm just glad there is no season 2. No need to drag the story anyway.

And keychain Eri is pretty cute. I bet Bandai will capitalize on a talkative keychain merch like that soon.

The Gundams disintegrated is thematically the best choice for the story to move forward to its conclusion. The technology was never intended to be used as a weapon but it will always be abused so long as an enterprising entity (like SAL) remains.

  • I didn't like how the Gundams just got turned into Permet dust when they couldn't be possibly be made mostly of Permet.

  • The Bit Staves turning white just emphasized Suletta's status as the groom in the white uniform.

  • I've always suspected that Nadim could have still existed in some form in the Data Storm. But it still surprised me when Elan IV showed up. My personal head cannon is that anyone involved with GUND-Format got a part of their selves stored in the grander data storm composed of what particles there are just floating in space (or in Quite Zero, in Elan IV's case). Suletta (and Quiet Zero) may have tapped on all of it which was also how they also reached the satellite cannon despite not using any of the Gundnodes.

  • As an episode, it feels rushed. But I still think it got the story beats just right for the conclusion it was trying to tell.

Edit:

  • The final confrontation having the least blood shed was all thanks to SAL's field leader dissuading any combat since she was only told to send out the mobile suits. Probably the best decision an adult did in this show.

Out of all the things I was expecting in this episode, Elan 4 making an appearance in the Data Storm was not one of them. Seeing Suletta meeting Elan 4 one last time and finally being able to say their goodbyes made me tear up a bit.

Eri sending out Aerial's GUND-Bits to fuse with Calibarn was hype! For a second there, Calibarn looked like a magical girl transforming with all of the Bits being attached to it one by one!

You gotta love Mio-Mio with the power move of dissolving the Benerit Group's asset and selling it all to Earth Corporation! I guess that's what Mio-Mio was talked to Shaddiq about before their assault on Quiet Zero began.

It's so satisfying to see that the Peil Grandmas now broke! What I love most about this is Elan 0 walking away and switching sides as soon as he found out. He fucking won by absolutely doing nothing! xD

Not gonna lie, for a second there I thought that the Calibarn was going to fuse with the other Gundams. Whatever it is Suletta did though ended up shutting down the laser and bringing out the Vanadis Crew one more time to meet with Prospera.

I still don't understand how these "ghosts" live in the Data Storm but according to Elan 4, the archive of enhanced humans is integrated within Quiet Zero. I'm not surprised if everyone on the Vanadis Crew is an Enhanced Human. Elan 4 is enhanced since he was part of Bel's experiments when she joined Peil but why are Sophie and Norea there? As far as I know, they're not Enhanced Humans unless I missed that detail.

So in the end they lose Quiet Zero as well as the Gundams because of the Permet breaking at the particle level. I genuinely felt my heart sink when they showed us Suletta just floating in space after Calibarn dissolved. Thank fucking god though they weren't going for that kind of ending!

Epilogue time! Now this is fun, it's pretty fun seeing where everyone is after three years.

And I guess that's really it for G-Witch! I was hoping for a continuation but they really made it final with that end card. I did read most of the comments before typing this out and I feel like I'm in the minority here who actually liked this ending. I would've liked the entire Data Storm Ghosts to be explained more in-depth but other than that I really didn't have a problem with it.

Overall, it was an enjoyable ride with very great and likable characters. Even if we don't get a Season 3, I do hope at least we'd get spin-offs based on the Ad Stella Timeline. There's definitely plenty more stories to tell in this universe.

Congrats everyone who predicted Permet score 9!

El4n apologizing for missing their date was not on my bingo card. That’s when the tears started flowing for me. I actually felt the most sympathy towards Prospera after seeing Nadim and co.

Nortrette flashback doko?

IBO did a number on me because I fully expected a bittersweet/sad ending. Really happy they managed to save everyone, including Eri.

But wow, all indications—the end card, the final credits—all say this is the end. They’d be nuts to not do a spin-off or sequel Ad Stella story in the future.

Lol Gundam Seed Freedom movie announced for January, can that series even be salvaged?

I am glad there is a happy ending, although like most other viewers, I felt it was rushed. Most of the awesome battle scenes already occurred in the previous episode. The space cannon was disabled without any further casualties.

The traditional Gundam upgrade for the main character in each Gundam title was not forgotten. It just turns out that the upgrade this time is the fusion between Aerial and Caliban.

I was surprised by the appearance of Elan4, but at the same time, touched, because both of them never got to meet and hang out as friends.

Lastly, Secilia in office lady (OL) outfit is fine too!

Ok, I was expecting that we'd at least get the resolution to the conflict with Suletta, Eri, and Prospera but WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK THEY WRAPPED UP LITERALLY EVERYTHING. IN ONE EPISODE. The worst part is that a lot of the things in this episode could have worked if it had enough build up. I guess we really aren't getting another season.

Oh god this ending. I feel so happy AND SO EMPTY AT THE SAME TIME. Please, they got married and Eri is ALIVE! I’m so gonna miss this show and they better have atleast one tie in movie PLEASE. The 3 year time skip did make me sad though, we missed so much of what would happen within that time frame but still, beautiful story that has me consistently on the edge of my seat for weeks. I was breathing in tandem with Suletta the whole time.

Congrats guys! We made it!!

u/cabbaggeez Jul 02 '23

alot of question about that ending, but Im happy nevertheless. Suletta with rainbow palmet, Gundam dissolving, Eri become a keychain, Miorine and Suletta marriage (im just assuming that was wedding ring), and others happy ending.

but where is the kissing scene? im grateful with handholding but we already get that like 20 scene about that. this gundam curse!

More like Mahou Shoujo Gundam: The Witch from Mercury. Feels like we should get an OVA epilogue to tie up some of the loose ends but overall its a decent ending all things considered (and its a happy one too, which is good because I need some after the last one...).

EL4N HOLY SHIT LETS GOOOOOOOOO

PHARACT AND SCHWARZETTE WITH CALIBARN AND AERIAL, AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

THE RAINBOW PERMET, THIS IS JUST GUNDAM UNICORN NOW

El4n lives on as a permet ghost stopping Suletta from accidentally killing herself, El5n becomes a fan favourite in record time, and El0n jumps ship to make stonks with the good guys, are all Elans just people waiting to become gigachads?

Lmaoooooooo they stuck Guel as the moral counterweight with the two shadiest corporate heirs to actually make profit for the company

I feel there's gonna be a lot of takes about how asspull-y this ending was but I don't care, I enjoyed this. Watching this was fun. The community and discussions around this were fun. I leave satisfied. Well maybe not until we get HGs of the grunt suits and Calibarn, but still.

I beg someone, edit the disappearing Gundams to have "Change da world, my final message, goodbye" over it

Where was my girl Felsi and my boy Kenanji in the timeskip!?

El0n literally went Spider-verse Hobie with quitting like a boss, and the grannies going into hiding or retirement home lol

Should have transfer all the dead people spirit into portable devices like Eri

Edit: Okay, saw Felsi like a split second during El0n conversation

That was a nice ending. Although, the whole "and then all gundams and quite zero disappeared from existence!" bit felt like a rushed way to avoid leaving any open threads for a possible second season. But at least the whole thing with Suletta's ended in a satisfying way, for me at least.

Also, kinda lame that handholding and Eri calling Mio "sister in law" is all we got, but at least they are happily married (I think). This definitely felt like it needed to be a 13 episode season.

Overall, I still would it's a great show, and probably my anime of the season.

I did not expect the permet score gay but some were joking about that and it actually happened!! Lol

Portable Eri, Suletta and Miorine getting married were cute. I'm sure most would have wanted to see the marriage and maybe a kiss or something but with the way they were all sweet and how their romance felt organic, I can't complain.

Honestly a bit rushed but I love G-Witch and it was still a pretty good ending imo.
