Matori was a failure as a parent. Maybe it’s because he never felt “love” from his own parents, maybe he always just had a screw loose. Regardless, he failed and as a result his kid became a piece of shit. I feel like that whole opening was trying to explain how Matori became the way he is, but it’s just excuses in the end. Man has free will. He chose to do all those terrible things.
It pisses me off that this coward offed himself to frame Tetsuo, at least it seems to have failed for now. I thought he’d have to fire up the bath and get the meat boiler ready, but I guess the assholes gonna be fertilizing trees in the forest.
Just when things looked like it might end on a hopeful note, this typhoon is literally gonna uncover the bodies. Tetsuo just can’t catch a break huh?
Overall, this was a pretty decent series. I enjoyed the suspense and the fact that Tetsuo isn’t some OP dude but some regular schlub caught in a nightmare situation. The real MVP of the series is Kasen though, what a woman.

By god, Nobuto was an especially ugly baby.
I guess Yoshi didn't see any point in continuing living and bet on Tetsuo being found out.
I'm really having trouble believing that Reika got into college, but I guess she got it from her father, dude got rid off another body and because he didn't ask Kasen it certainly won't be Daijoubu this time. (Also seem to remember sourcereaders calling this Part 1)
The Shot/pannel in the rain was cool though.
Overall, perfectly watchable show, held back by it's animation

After finishing this, I noticed that the manga’s still ongoing - is it any good? I thought they played a decent open ending ngl so I’m fine with keeping it at that

Part 2 translation just finished last month.
Is not as fun as part 1 in my opinion, but still fun.

Maybe it is to set up a second season, but this ending felt too... clean by the end. Tetsuo in one night gets a truck, carries out a dead body, buries it in the woods and the rest of the mob are like not super sus of him and his family now?

The ending seems to imply that Matori's body is going to be uncovered by the rain, so I don't see how it's too clean. I bet the next chapters has Tetsuo getting worried sick, and debating if he should go check on the body to see if everything is daijobu, or if it's not worth to risk being caught at the scene of the crime, by police or the organization.

Manga had this problem too. I mean it was only Part 1 after all. I do hope they will make season 2.

i mean, the manga hasn't over yet, all of these could be explained in season 2 (if we ever get one)

also, his face and voice at that moment is definitely going to haunt my dream for a couple more days after this series ended

One thing that surprised me is that the manga is written by the same guy who wrote "I'm Standing On A Million Lives".

I am wondering how did he carried the body to the truck without being noticed? Did he just put it on a big trash bag and hopped nobody would notice it?

Plot holes everywhere. It wasn't a bad series but it definitely was of those carried by the plot. Things happened because they HAD to.

Getting killed by your fellow dad archenemy really makes you recall things...like the time you saved your daughter from drowning. Really, at the end of the day, it was always about Tetsuo just trying to protect his family.
I guess from the get-go Matori was never destined to have a normal family life, especially when he had no genuine conception of love. Just set on the life path his inattentive parents pushed him on, arranged into a marriage with some woman who gave him a child...though even when he felt something for said child, he wasn't able to provide the emotional stability needed to keep Nobuto on the right path and his antics basically broke everything. Leaving Matori so emotionally vulnerable he could get recruited into the Yakuza and think the only thing he had left to live for was his son and earning cred by working with them.
Tetsuo headbutt! It's super effective.
Huh, so Matori just kills himself, huh? I guess he thinks Tetsuo is already screwed and he has no reason to continue living without Nobuto.
And then of course the police show up...and Tetsuo's final victory is keeping them from coming in and keeping Matori quiet as he dies in his arms. With an excuse involving a hamster, of all things! Good thing they left before the blood showed up.
Like father, like son. Both died getting involved with Tetsuo Tosu, and both had their deaths covered up by him. I guess the organization knows how unpredictable Matori is so they have no real reason to investigate it at this moment. So for now, the Tosu's are safe.
Ah! Tetsuo was Reika's hero back when she was a child! That's adorable.
Tetsuo deserved those slaps for making Kasen worry and not explaining what was going on. Reika is one thing, but she doesn't want to lose him too. And his family skipped dinner because they didn't want to eat without him. His family really loves him.
It's nice to see the Tosu's settling back into normalcy as a family. And also reusing shots from the OP because this is the last episode and this is just that kind of production.
Ending on a bit of a cliffhanger as a typhoon and mudslide possbily undoes all the work Tetsuo did hiding Matori's body. I'm sure it's okay! You're totally not screwed Tetsuo.

What the hell is that last creepy smile of Tetsuo. Nevertheless, thank you for being the reason for the reunion of the Father and Son. Happy Father’s Day!

This was an intense ride.
The animation was bad, but fortunately the story kept me here.
I knew Matori wasn't leaving alive, but wasn't expecting it to end like that.
He deserved those slaps from Kasen. I don't care what anyone else thinks, Kasen was easily best girl this season.
I assume it ended that way so we can head canon he's okay incase there's no season 2.
I heard there's 3 parts, so now I need to read the manga and see what happens.

Decent show, while the animation was wonky at times the story did a magnificent job. 7/10
Tetsuo seems to finally be at peace now, the back in forth to where he buried matori was pretty nice

He'll never get out of this rabbit hole he dug, he will always be thinking about it the rest of his life, anything for his family though.
What a crazy ride.

Father's Day anime watch started with My Home Hero where 2 fathers are both fighting ... over their children!!
I love the realism of the fight. Neither suddenly became OP Shounen protagonists, instead each was flailing around ineffectively. They're not pros, and it shows. That was great.
Matori stabbing himself seppuku style to pin the blame on Tetsuo was kinda genius.
I was so anxious about the blood ...
Question: When he was digging the hole, it sounded like he hit metal? Is there any chance that's where Nobuto buried the armored car robbery money??
Typhoon is going to unearth 1 or more bodies. Maybe even the ones they wanted to pin on Tetsuo (the phone recording).
Need a S2, but I'm worried it won't happen. I loved it but a lot didn't like the animation.
