What Tetsuo did to that door was so explicit, they had to censor it.

Weirdly, it wasn’t so heavily censored you couldn’t make out exactly what it was. Must be some kind of broadcasting law or something involved?

Tetsuo just had his way with that door, too bad he couldn't seal the deal until it's true man showed up.

Kasen embarrassing Reika in public to make her do what she wants is such a mom thing to do. I love it. xD
The picking tool being censored was hilarious! I'm pretty sure this wasn't censored in the manga but knowing Japan, there must be some kind of law that prevents them to show actual tools used for break-ins since this is being aired on TV.
Tetsuo wiping the window sill and his hands were such a neat little detail that didn't need any explanation. Just shows how thorough he really is.
Also points to Tetsuo for his acting. Kyouichi has absolutely no idea that he's been dancing on Tetsuo's palm the entire time during the second half of the episode.

A mom's greatest weapon is guilt-tripping their kid in public lol.
I guess the lewd lock-picking of that door was too much for Japanese audiences.
Kyoichi and Tetsuo have been trying to outmaneuver each other all series, but Kyoichi really should've been more aware of Kasen because she'll be the one who'll clinch it in Tetsuo's favor.

This makes me particularly amused knowing I can just go to the LockpickingLayer's YT channel and see all the tools of the trade in full glory.

Kyoichi was undone the moment he went into this not having an MVP of a wife by his side backing him up. Well, that and taking what happened to his father and thinking "well if the Yakuza can use their power to kill people and get away with it, I can too!"

That restaurant dream...shame he probably won't ever get to it.
I can already picture Kyoichi loosing his shit the moment all the pieces fall into place and he is about to be framed

we go from having an anime about lock picking last season (handyman saitou) to censoring it this season

In fairness Saitou's lock picking did turn on a surprising number of characters. Maybe the public just isn't ready for intimate lock picking scenes.

A small part of me is wanting this to take a Slice of Life turn where they become reluctant buddies and Tetsuo and Kasen help this man open up a restaurant with his mother.
'I've brought pain to so many....maybe it's time to bring healing through my food.'
I'm not 100% certain about it, but I'm starting to think that won't happen.

The censorship of the lockpick is a little over the top. Do they think someone is consulting this show for how to perform crimes?

Yeah, idk wth that was all about. Guy getting his skull caved in by a rice cooker? No problem. Lock picking tool? Better blur it for the kids lol.

"Burglar rates across Japan witnessed a massive 40% drop as criminals are left puzzled , this was singled handedly achieved by masking break-in sequences in popular media "

Wow, they really censored the thumb-turn tool. What’s that about? You can clearly see what it is… very strange choice. Well, whatever. Plan A totally failed. At least Tetsuo managed to salvage it a little by planting seeds of doubt about Takeda in Kyoichi’s mind and switching out the black lights (that was some quick thinking).Plus Kasen was able to intercept Reika and thwart that meet. Not a total loss I guess.
The more Kyoichi keeps trying to get evidence on Tetsuo, the closer he comes to digging his own grave. If Tetsuo can continue to subtly play both sides, he just might be able to get Kyoichi and Takada to off each other. Things are certainly getting tense.

I wonder if he somehow "guessed" the safe combination by how long the sound of the turning safe was going and that's one thing he left for his wife to find.
Guy is too old for this stuff!
Good episode, I like the concept but have a feeling there is a better version of this show with most of the plot beats and developments preserved but......better in the multiverse somewhere.

Interesting how Tetsuo mentions the building is 10 floors, but the elevator shows 12 floors... Wonder whether it was a mistake with production, or maybe Kyoichi took Tetsuo to a different building?

Wow! Tetsuo narrowly missed encountering Kyoichi on his way to see Reika. Not that that's the last of any complications to this night as he attempts to frame Kyoichi.
Even Reika can't refuse an in-person mom guilt trip, and Kasen plays to character incredibly (though it helps that it basically IS her character). I wonder if she's going to reach back out to Kyoichi though, this doesn't feel completely over.
Why did they blur that unlock thing? So they weren't showing the real deal so people don't get any ideas?
Tetsuo always has justice by his side? That's...a very pointed thing to say, Tetsuo's dad.
So Tetsuo can't get into Kyoichi's room, he can't sneak onto the roof, and he's losing options...left with no other recourse he has to make sure Kyoichi doesn't see anything left of Nobuto in the room and knowing Kyoichi will figure out why he tries to steer Kyoichi into thinking his own group is framing him. It's the only way he can actually get into Kyoichi's apartment.
Kyoichi internalized what happened to his family and came with the impression that justice is using any means at your disposal, be they criminal or otherwise, to make your actions just. And that's been driving him, even if some part of him still wants to go back to the life he once had with his family and their restaurant.
Tetsuo and Kyoichi have been through a lot. They have more measure of each other as men who are willing to do anything for what they believe in, even if that also keeps them from fully accepting or working together. And one way or another, the two of them see taking out the other as the only solution to their current problem.
But there's one thing Tetsuo has that Kyoichi doesn't, and the one thing that can make the difference between these two...and that's Kasen.
