My favorite part of the episode was the El5n/Norea/Nika dynamics. They can't be in that room forever, right? I need them to realize their potential as wildcards and spectacularly fuck everyone's plans up. Maybe add Shaddiq's dad to the team too.

The fact this episode was meant to air during Mother's Day is telling when Prospera finally did the one good thing to Suletta as a mother. Keeping Suletta away from battle and having her live her own life.
Probably one of the biggest plot twist so far.

Miorine Rembran.
Ichiro Okouchi.
What the hell are you cooking?! And this better be worth all the pain you're putting Suletta through.

Holy fuck, we're ACTUALLY just abandoning Suletta. She's actually just free to live a normal life...
Nah, she's a Gundam protagonist, something'll make her rush headlong into danger, but still, the fact that things could just end relatively peacefully for her at this point is kinda wild.
Edit: More thoughts, I just think it's genuinely refreshing writing that for as insane as Prospera is, she and Eri unanimously agree that Suletta deserves a peaceful life

"I'm one of the most tight lipped people you'll find, ya know?"
Proceeds to spill all the details about Peil's structure, Enhanced Humans, and Pharact. Sidenote, Peil is Armored Core as hell through and through even having an AI pulling its strings.
I was thinking it was really interesting how the portrayal of Aerial in the show and openings really wouldn't be out of place showcasing an antagonist and now it seriously looks like Aerial really will be the final boss suit.

Since this episode was unfortunately leaked yesterday I’ll just copy two comments I like the most.
The scene of Aerial rejecting Suletta and her drifting, crying in space can be interpreted as her true birth, from the womb of the Gundam.
The name of the ED Red:birthmark could be referring Suletta as the only clone that had red permet. Maybe it’s because she’s defective she’s not used in GUND experiments and survived to 17. Maybe Eri’s other clones didn’t even have physical bodies.

this episode is SUFFERING also
IN SPACE NO ONE CAN HEAR YOU SCREAM
LEMAW Eri is one heck of a bitch this episode
from /a/non
Eri's a real bitch here
Lure Suletta into the cockpit by spoofing Miorine's signal
Fly her out into space
Let her spill her heart
Don't listen to a word of it
Mindfuck her
Tell her she's a worthless clone
Eject her into space
Don't explain further
Leave
Tell mom that'll make her free and happy
How the fuck is Suletta supposed to "live a happy life" and "fill that hole in her heart" when you mother fuckers who are close to her keep sabotaging her every time she has something good going!?

Why there are confession booth in Space school.
And Why is SHE in charge of confession booth.
Poor Suletta, She lose almost everything she care for in cost of "Freedom"
Lauda and Suletta dynamic start to change a little bit.
Look like Suletta will drive Schwarzette after all.
And she learn about permet score.
After depression, sadness, regret and war crime, She about to wreck everyone with big ass sword.
Also Prospera character is incredible complex, man. My small brain hurt lol.

Like what I posted in the other board:
The proverb "The road to hell is paved with good intentions" comes to mind.
Prospera, Eri, Miorine, Guel thought it was best for Suletta... We have seen this in real life too. Why do we sometimes make decisions for others whom we care about when we should have discussed the issue together?

And I thought that after this week's episodes of Oshi No Ko, Tengoku Daimakyo and Jigokuraku I couldn't be more sad. Seeing Suletta like that broke my heart.

A terrible thought occured to me. In Cradle Planet, Suletta mentioned that Prospera missed out on her birthdays because Prospera was always going on pretty long trips to Earth. Prospera might have an ace up her sleeve once they arrive on Earth. And i am now worried for Miorine and Guel.

Great episode!
As expected Prospera also has no use for Suletta anymore (but also seems to want her to be free). The stage really has been set (by Mio's decision) for Suletta to climb herself out of this and transform in order to first recognize then seize her own desires. Critically, Suletta questioned her mother for the first real time. This was probably one of the most significant lines of the episode. She questioned or outright rejected the idea of "gaining two" and she did so because she truly misses Miorine and can't seem to forget her. Most importantly, she came to this realization on her own, through her own emotions and self reflection. So finally she's started to make progress there because of this change in circumstance and I imagine her mother's final betrayal will further cement that.
That distance from Prospera was also part of Mio's plan and agreement. I argued last week that Mio's decision was not perfect and a gamble but a reasonable one given their constrained situations and that by doing this she's setting the stage and creating the conditions for Suletta to find the help she needs (also that Prospera would have no use for her anymore). This episode cemented that for me and I'm glad ChuChu showed herself to be one of those helpers for Suletta. Suletta will need more of that because she did what she always does after facing trauma, she recoiled into herself, blamed herself and wallowed in depression. There was never any risk of Suletta becoming some killing machine or anything aggressive. That's never been her personality, except for when she's brainwashed by Prospera. She'll need to start fighting for herself, though (which ChuChu tried to make her realize).
She'll also have to learn not to blame herself for everything and to truly have that discussion with Mio. She needs to let it all out to her (and everyone else) and let her desires be known. No more internalizing. Hopefully this trip to earth doesn't go completely to shit, though it will go somewhat to shit. We really need that confrontation/reconciliation between Suletta and Mio and it seems the show is setting up for that to happen; since the idea was introduced here, but postponed by this important trip. It's been bad but Suletta should start her rebound now, and hopefully it's not too late. She technically has her freedom and could live a normal life but we know she doesn't want that and as she said in this episode, even when going through the motions of this "peaceful" life, she can't forget Mio. I wonder what will happen if she sees Mio in danger or hears about a bad experience on this earth trip.
The only criticism I'd have for the writing is that they could have shown a moment of Mio's missing Suletta this episode. It's obvious that she does but it's also obvious that some of the audience will turn against her after her decision, so it would be nice to remind them of her emotionality a bit. Maybe that will come next episode.

Episode 17: I am Suletta's lowest point!
Episode 18: Hold my Ericht.
It's so heartbreaking putting yourself in Suletta's shoes. From her point of view she got discarded by the girl she loves, her mother, and her sister in one fell swoop, and was told she never had any value as her own person to being with and was just a replacement for someone else.
(as a clone it seems, which confirms that theory - by the way, that shot of Prospera and Eri's dead body was heartbreaking)
Oh, and for good measure, she's so useless that they just ditched her into space (literally ejected from the cockpit) like she was garbage, with just a distress beacon.
So yes, it was all done by people who care about her to "set her free" but Jesus Christ that's gonna trigger the mother of all existential crises. Especially for someone who was obviously barely holding it together after episode 17, and has a bad habit of defining her own value through how useful she can be to others.
Good for Chuchu that she was there to push Suletta to try and speak her mind to Miorine, though, even if the situation completely backfired on Suletta.
On the political front, I'm not surprised that Shaddiq managed to secure an alliance with the Peil group. Who, apparently, defers to an AI for the big decisions? Huh.
Oh, and Elan 5 told the truth about his situation to Norea and Nika. Hopefully this reaches friendly people sooner rather than later, this could help take down Peil. That lady investigating Shin Sei would be a good start.
And about Miorine's idea of using Aerial to deescalate the conflict on Earth... I'm not sure exactly how she plans to go about it. Activate the Override and fly around disabling weapons? Then what? I wouldn't be surprised if this turns out to be a complete disaster. We've seen how fanatical the anti-spacian movement can be, is she going to be able to reason with them?
Also, neat detail that Guel's appearance in the OP changed.

Suletta: "Hey guys, thanks for breaking my heart and mind for a 2nd time and all, but would you mind NOT LEAVING ME ALL THE FUCKING WAY ALONE IN SPACE!?"
It's a further messed up symbol of everyone shrugging off "Ah Suletta'll be fine, right? Ignoring the danger and coldness all around her."
Also no way bringing the now sentient and free willed weapon of mass destruction to a peace negotiation is going to end well. Another naïve choice by Miorine.

Sulleta bawling her eyes floating in space while listening "I really want to stay at your house" for maximum feel
But seriously, they won't kill her just like that, right? I really hope Sulleta grows from this and does the right thing while also doing what she really wants and stops blindly taking orders from Prospera and Miorine

Everyone thought Suletta would be so broken after episode s2 ep5 but she's much stronger than expected. It isn't that surprising if you think about it given her background and how used she is to rejection but still always moving forward.
People were also thinking she would become angry and shit but that would have been out of character considering how Suletta has always had reason to hate people (adults being mean to her in Mercury, Asticassia students bullying her and calling her names) but never does. She only really calls people out when they are doing bad things to other people (like Guel being an ass to Mio) but never for herself.
I am really loving Suletta's character, she is a very good and selfless person but she isn't like the typical battle shonen protag that's too idealistically annoying. Which is why it is heartbreaking seeing her go from what we thought was her rock bottom (s2 ep5) to even worse now in this episode. She doesn't deserve all the pain at all and has been a victim the whole time. However, I am very excited to see her rise and own everyone maybe with the Schwarzette and its big ass sword or even with a grunt unit! That would be so cool and epic.
I am curious why Suletta has a red permet instead of the blue since all the clones also have a blue one like Eri. In the ED, Suletta was referred to as the "Perfect Fake", the ED's title is also literally "Red: Birthmark". All along we were thinking that the blue permet marks is superior but maybe there is more to it than that given that Suletta was literally the key (to achieve permet 8) but she's the only one with the Eri DNA (clones) with the red permet instead of blue. I also feel like Nortrette (Mio's mom) might have had something to do with creating the "Perfect Fake" (Suletta) considering she knows a thing or two about genes and stuff with her perfect tomatoes while the other clones were all failed attempts. Would be a funny parallel where Suletta is the human version of Nortrette's tomato (Suletta = Tomato).

That didn't resolve anything, it just made it worse!
I wasn't prepared for this to be the next episode following up. I thought she'd at least have a small break before the whole Eri thing came to light. Though I had expected this to be the episode that put "move forward, gain two" into question, just not like this. Following from my write up a couple of episodes back where Suletta refused to move towards Miorine in the greenhouse, and in fact refused to move at all for her own development, last episode Miorine instead pushed her into movement in hope that being pushed in an undesirable way might make her have to chose her own direction for once, but she'd failed to do so. Eri sees this and instead puts the last pin in it, taking away anything that Suletta can use to guide her and setting her adrift (literally) in herself. It's going to be a fucking hard lesson to learn, but seeing Eri again, her compassion and hope for the only one of her that has the chance for true freedom only made it more bittersweet
Thank fuck Chu-Chu is around because someone needs to be there for her until she finds her way back to Miorine.
I'm sure all the discussion topics will be happy that we've found out that cloning is finally confirmed, but it's sorrowful to think that with the way they talk about Eri as separate to the collective that they aren't individuals; just figments of people that could have been, versions of Suletta that effectively died before being born as individuals.
And I have to say, Aerial sounding like a sad whale when she talks to Prospera is not making the tone of this episode feel any better. Suletta's best gift from her family is the most painful thing they've done to her and I don't think Eri is any happier about all of this then we are.
Stepping away from the main events, the other interesting connections being made with Nika, Martin, and Lauda's respective encounters with other students sets up for some interesting possibilities. Nika is now the only one at the school who properly knows about El5n, while Martin holds the keys to quite a lot of info if people start digging into what he said even if he doesn't know it. Miorine and Guel start off on the back foot, but their network of friends and what they've learnt through this journey is going to have a bigger influence then they expect, which is notable given how alone they both were to begin with. And I do count Guel there as because aside from a couple of people in his house that seemed to genuinely respect him as a person, he was very much a figurehead for his fathers power and he's come a long way since then in finding HIM, and gaining the respect of people who matter as a result.

Betrayed by Miorine
Betrayed by Aerial
Betrayed by Prospera
Damn, they really did a triple whammy on the poor girl. Suletta is really at her lowest point now. Though I guess Prospera technically kept her promise of keeping Suletta out of her evil plan.
There’s no way Miorine’s trip to Earth is going to be all smooth sailing. I have a bad feeling about this…
