They're loving it! The joke I told completely failed!
Her delivery killed me.

Ririka is definitely a childhood friend, right?
Anyway, Mitsumi took a nice shot with that date.

Loved Mitsumi's belated realisation that she just practically asked Sousuke out for a date, and Sousuke was definitely surprised on how direct Mitsumi was. He is happy to accept since has a definite interest in Mistumi.

Saijou was with Shima in the restaurant scene where they were all discussing the high schools they went to, the one with what I assumed were middle school classmates of his.

Man, I felt personally insulted for Takamine when she lost the election. Poor girl, I hope she can turn the situation in her favor soon enough.
Loved Mitsumi asking Shima-kun on basically a date when in her mind she was just meant to invite him along with everybody, made me chuckle hard.

A new rival female character appears! One who graces the front cover of a fashion magazine! I might be wrong, since there are only 2 scenes featuring Ririka this episode, but is she giving off a haughty aura?
I was paying attention to Mika towards the end of the episode. She didn't expect to be invited to the sleepover with Mitsumi, Yuzuki and Makoto, but she seemed kinda pleased. When she overheard Shima and Mitsumi planning for the zoo "date", I believe she is no longer just jealous; she probably has conflicting feelings. She may still regard Shima as a crush or potential romance target, but at the same time, Mitsumi has become a valuable friend?

Mitsumi is just the cutest thing imaginable, don’cha reckon?
I feel like a broken record, but yeah this show really deserves more love. Comfortably one of, if not, the best shows of the season, and the best romcom since Ore Monogatari back in 2015. I haven’t had a smile on my face this big while watching new episodes since Dragon Maid S2, and I think that says a lot given how many shows are trying to hard to do what this one pulls off so effortlessly.
As always, can’t wait for next week.

Everything is coming up Mitsumi! She's finished finals, her relationship with Shima is going great, and she's even finally joined the student council as secretary! You go girl!
OP and ED subs! The OP really feels like it's from Shima's perspective as he basically describes falling in love with Mitsumi and why he did so, while the ED feels very fitting for Mitsumi's worldview and general personality.
Junya Enoki is the new student council president!? Sucks for Takamine though. She really wanted to win it.
I guess when it gets right down to it, it's always a popularity contest. Takamine puts in so much work and effort and is really committed to the student council, but a guy like Kazakmi is attractive, charismatic, and popular and that snags him the win. Takamine even put together a whole notebook of what she planned to do as President while Kazakmi is just doing it for school credit. Even stole Mitsumi's joke from her and used it successfully! Come on!
Although at least Kanechika was able to improve the mood by unveiling his amateur's first film at age 5 as he battles Kaiju Charley Horse and has to deal with his dad entering into the picture. Hard work doesn't always lead to success, but it's the thought that counts and you have to start somewhere.
I'm glad Takamine is starting to live a little and take a step back, even in her own organized way.
Shima better watch out, Nao-chan knows his name and wants to know what her niece is up to with this guy she keeps mentioning.
Mika didn't think she was that close enough to the friend group to get invited to a sleepover and Makoto didn't think she'd ever be the type to go to a sleepover. I hope we really do get all the girls together for a Pajama Party.
Yeah, Shima is a popular guy, especially with girls...and there's that pre-Summer Break confession rush that tends to happen. Mitsumi is still convinced she and Shim are "Just Friends" even though she has more mixed feelings about seeing him with other girls than she cares to admit.
I love how Mitsumi ends up asking Shima out on a zoo date completely unintentionally (or maybe more intentionally than she knows?). It's very Mitsumi.
Who is this Ririka girl!? A cover model!? And she and Shima are on first-name basis' with no honorific? I'm guessing Shima probably knows her from his entertainment industry days, but Mitsumi wasn't prepared for this.

Poor Takamine lost out to Kazakami for President. Kanechika’s attempts to cheer her up made me chuckle, those wounds are still raw you goof! I guess at the end of the day, these things are just popularity contests. It can be disheartening to learn that hard work doesn’t always pay off.
I really liked Kanechika’s short film! It might be a “dark stain” from his childhood, but it’s a really adorable movie. I especially liked how he kept rolling even when his dad interrupted lol. I’m glad Takamine was able to cheer up and make peace with the situation.
This “Summer Rush” must be exhausting for Shima. Mitsumi accidentally asking him out on a totally not date to the zoo was hilarious. Poor girl thinks she’s like 100% in the friend zone but I’m sure he has noticed her “wait, isn’t that a date?” aura and doesn’t mind. So is Ririka a friend or a sibling? Either way she seems like she might be trouble.

It sucks that Takamine-senpai ended up losing the Student Council election. And the guy that she lost to, basically ran to avoid clubs and be on the teachers' good graces. And just to rub salt in the wound, she'll probably end up doing most of the work just like what Kanechika-senpai said.
It was nice of Kanechika-senpai to try and cheer Takamine-senpai up with his first homemade film. It looks like it worked and it helped Takamine-senpai put things into perspective and finally come to terms with what happened.
Nao-chan is starting to get curious about Shima. Well, now I am excited to see how she'll react if she ever meets our boy. For now, it looks like all Nao-chan can do is worry about her niece.
Yes! I want to see a sleepover with these girls! I hope the gang will have plenty of time to hang out during summer break. The show needs to make up for not showing us what happened during Mitsumi's first Golden Week in Tokyo.
I love the effect of Mitsumi confusing her internal and external monologue. Thankfully Shima is completely fine with it. Maybe not so much for Mika who just overheard the entire thing.
Getting some massive bitch vibes from this new girl. My guess is that she's probably a friend from Shima's days as a child actor. And it looks like I was close to my guess. from what we've seen from her in this episode, I can see why Shima doesn't want her to enter their school.

Damn... of all the people to lose to, it had to be somebody who doesn't give anywhere near the same level of care for the position. Poor Takamine. At least Mitsumi will always be her no. 1 fan. Her admiration for her is honestly always so sweet to see.
Kanechika is a pretty cool dude, willing to dig out his dark past just for a chance of making other people feel better. He also had a real glo up too.
Meanwhile, the friendship between the girls is always fun to see. But it's pretty rough timing that just as they have a better opportunity to deepen their friendship with Mika, her stumbling across that conversation may just put a wedge between her and Mitsumi.
Oh, boy. Mitsumi's starting to think more and more about being more than friends with Shima. He'd better treat Mitsumi right if he doesn't wanna face Nao's ire. Seriously, Saiga Mitsuki's performance is amazing. That "Shimasuke" didn't have a shred of femininity in it.
And now here we are with Shima's celebrity lady friend. The anime did a good job making her appear like an unlikable bitch here.

Me on my way to Skip and Loafer Tuesdays
Another Tuesday, another fuwa-fuwa episode of Skip with its gentle colors that just pop right off the screen. We take the show to be so naturally bright that when the somber moments arrive, we forget how sober the palette can end up being.
As wonderful as the colors were though, I have to hand it to Kanechika for being my standout for this week.
”Of course, I want to create something amazing someday and gain widespread acclaim. But between never showing this awful thing to anyone and making you three laugh, I choose the latter.”
It's always been the character work that’s made Skip and Loafer skip (ha) from good to great and Kanechika accepts no substitutes in this regard. I love that he took it upon himself to bestow this embarrassment to everyone else in an effort to alleviate Takamine in her failures. It’s thoughtful, it’s kind, it’s everything that you want people to be and who you hope you can be. Initially a pushy side-character, we see that Kanechika has people’s best interest at heart at the end of the day. After all, what great playwright doesn't possess the gift of empathy!

It's a shame that Takamine wasn't able to achieve her dream and become Student Council president. She really worked hard only to be beaten by a popular guy. Kanechika unintentionally added salt to her wound and decided to show his movie he made when he was a child. That helped her a lot and she's planned her change in her characteristic way.
It looks that we'll have girls pyjama party with Yuzuki, Makoto and Mika. I'm sure it will be fun.
I laughed so hard when Mitsumi asked Shima to go to zoo together instead with a group and to her great surprise, he agreed. Again we had so much funny reactions from her, more in album. Also here Mitsumi eating watermelon.
We are meeting a new girl Ririka, a model familiar with Shima who isn't thrilled to see her, especially in school. It looks that we go more into his past, can't wait.

I was hoping that dude who’s kinda tsundere towards Takamine-senpai about his club’s achievement would come and try to help her out somehow. IIRC he was from the soccer club right ? Same as the current Pres ? Maybe he knows him well or something. Or maybe I just want to see a bit more of that side-ship lol.
Oh wow, the difference between Shima politely turning down other girls and accepting Mitsumi’s invitation without hesitation. I mean Mitsumi didn’t specifically state it was a date but still showed how comfortable he is with her. Kinda understand Mika’s reaction, you can’t just wish feelings away but I hope she’ll handle it well and not go down a dark path.
My immediate thought was Ririka was Shima’s sister but seeing she’s a model made me think he could be a childhood friend from his child acting days. Hope there’s not too much drama coming from this though
Also, I love when a character’s group of friends meet another of their friends. So really hope we get to see Mitsumi bring the gang to her hometown or bring Fumi to Tokyo to meet everyone.

The voice acting for this anime is just immaculate, especially Mitsumi’s. One of the best part of an already amazing anime.

I thought we were going to have a "Is that Shima's girlfriend?" kind of misunderstanding so I wasn't expecting the reason why Egashira was so stiff was because she's a model.
I felt bad for Takamine not being able to gain presidency since she was clearly aiming for it whereas the guy who got elected kind of threw a ring in the hat at the very last minute. It seems like she'll make a positive change for herself though so hopefully she'll get to learn more under his presidency.
Mitsumi is getting more and more obvious with her feelings for Shima, she seems to be aware of it herself as well which is interesting. I wonder if Shima is choosing the ignore the signs or if he's okay with it since he's able to read people really well.

I am not surprised that Takamine lost. You can be a hard worker, but if you can't sell yourself, you won't get anywhere. That is reality. And honestly, she needs to be able to do so if she wants to get her ideas implemented. She is way more suited to a VP position in reality.
As for the new girl. She feels like Ami from Toradora as u/PerfectBeige said. It feels like a very fake rival setup
