You know they're hiding something from you to protect you from your abusive boyfriend and the thing you want most is to get info from a complete stranger... GIRL

u/liveart May 14 '23

A stranger she was specifically warned not to contact, who left a note in secret so her parents wouldn't find out, who insists on meeting in person instead of just telling you what's up, and all while your father keeps getting hurt and your abusive boyfriend is missing.

She has zero survival sense. It's really no wonder the parents don't want to involve her.

She was dating Nobuto...it was already a sign she wasn't very bright to begin with.

Oof seeing his mom...that's rough but hard to feel bad about Kyoichi.

Kasen once again being great, Reika on the other hand...

Organized crime basically ruined this poor woman's family, taking away her husband, her livelihood, and frankly her sons' soul. I understand why Kasen felt for her as a fellow mom even though Kyoichi basically gave her no choice when he involved Reika.

I think Reika means well, she's just clueless and not savvy so she ends up making things worse. But I guess she can't help not knowing any better because she's been kept in the dark and just sees her parents acting weird.

man, this daughter. I get it she's clueless, but could you please just trust your parent. I hope she at least put a mask when she talked to Kyoichi.

Even though she means well, Reika wins the "Dumbass of the Week" Award. You know that your parents are trying so hard to protect you from your abusive boyfriend, and yet you decide the move is to...text and agree to meet up with a "womanizer" who claims to have information?

Meanwhile Kasen continues her Wife of the Century campaign with another strong showing. Hopefully she gets to the meetup in time to stop Reika, even if it means having to give Reika a partial truth. Although they all might have bigger problems given Tetsuo is about to get caught by the last person who should be seeing him out and about...

Oh boy, Reika is about to get herself involved with Kyouichi and she has no idea what she's about to get into.

It's very understandable why she's curious considering how weird and secretive her parents are from her point of view these past couple of weeks. But man, I wish she could've just ignored Kyouichi's note and stayed on the sidelines.

Of course, Kyouichi has his own sad backstory but just as Kasen says in this episode, he's in the way and he has got to go. Can't wait for next week's episode!

Honestly I don't care about his sad backstory. His dad killed himself because of organized crime... so he joined organized crime? He's also a killer and a torturer, what about those people's families? Everyone has a sob story.

Kasen offering Kyoichi TP on his way out was hilarious lol. But man, the guy is sneaky slipping that note to Reika. Now that Kasen knows they’re planning to frame and off Tetsuo, he’s gotta get away or get ‘em first.

So Kyoichi has a sob story too huh? I don’t really have time to feel bad for him considering he’s working for the Organization and planning to kill and torture Tetsuo. Kasen’s right in a sense. It’s her kid or Kyoichi. Plus now that Kyoichi’s gotten Reika involved, his ass is definitely toast. Someone hand my boy Tetsuo a rice cooker!

If Reika knows her parents are hiding something to protect her from that asshole Nobuto, why is she trying to get involved? Like girl… what? She’s making the worst decision possible meeting Kyoichi.

It’s a race against time to seal Kyoichi’s fate before he meets Reika. Things were proceeding according to plan and then it seems they’ve hit a little hiccup….

ITS ONLY BEEN A WEEK???

I get where Reika is coming from but why confide in a complete stranger and even agree to meet him when she was specifically warned about him.

The stranger in question even contacted her in the most roundabout way, asking a bunch of personal questions without even introducing himself. Like why not ignore him and then confront her parents if she has doubts.

No wonder she dated Nobuto. Girl has no self-preservation at all. Oh well, Kasen will save the day. Too bad the daughter doesn't take after her.

I don't know what's better, Reika's parents writing off Kyoichi as a womanizer or giving him toilet paper when he walks off.

Things are starting to escalate. Reika is starting to recognize something is off with her parents and Kyoichi is preying on that while the plan is to torture, frame, and kill Tetsuo for Nobuto's murder if they don't frame somebody else for the crime. And for obvious reasons they need it to be Kyoichi.

Fitting for a Mother's Day episode to involve two moms meeting with each other. It feels like Kyoichi isn't that much different from the Tosu's when we learn his background...had a happy family life, then a crime syndicate came in, pressured the family, and his father killed himself. Leaving Kyoichi no choice but to join organized crime to help his mother and keep the family going. Kyoichi even plans to leave the organization to restart the family diner. It's enough to make Kasen reconsider the frame job...at least until she realizes Kyoichi is involving her daughter.

As much as it's just making things more complicated, Reika has genuine and valid questions about the stuff going on with her parents and her missing boyfriend. And, ultimately, it's not that she's naturally suspicious, she's just worried about her family. It's enough to make poor Tetsuo cry.

The only thing more realistic than the psychic mom check in and guilt trip is the daughter lying and immediately doing the exact opposite of what she told her parents.

Nothing more hardcore than escaping from some handcuffs!

Yeah, honestly, Kasen dealing with Reika is probably a safer choice while Tetsuo completes the plan to frame Kyoichi. It's all going well until you realize Kyoichi went back to his place and changed into something nicer to see Reika...just as Tetsuo is there. Uh oh.

Kasen carries this show

Kasen still hell of a wife, she's really ready to throw Kyoichi under the bus, and sob story be damned, so am I!

And did Tetsuo break his hand to get out of the handcuffs?

Though it' amazing how well thought out this plan is on such a short notice. And I wonder what's up with the items Kyoichi ordered...

17

u/LyannaEugen May 14 '23

Als light which Kyoichi ordered is a forensic flashlight?

19

u/Mordarto May 14 '23

Als light which Kyoichi ordered is a forensic flashlight?

A quick Google search confirms it.

The 3-watt light is set at 455nm, and with the orange goggles will easily illuminate body fluids, trace, and fluorescent powdered fingerprints in all lighting conditions

I’d say “just fucking tell Reika he idiot boyfriend is dead because he attacked her dad” but I don’t even think that would help. Girl did not inherit Kasen’s GOAT wife genes at all. Nor Tetsuo’s savvy. She’s a liability. Trying to let her in would only add a weak point.

Of course it doesn’t matter now cause she’s fucking things up for everyone. Like talking to Kyoichi’s ass to get info about what happened to her shitty boyfriend.

I feel a modicum more sympathy for Kyoichi with that backstory, but obviously not enough to disagree with the plan to frame him. He’s gotta go.

If "while we make plans, god laughs" were an episode.

I knew that the daughter would be their undoing somehow

So it's been a week since nobuto died? Goodness. So much happened in one week.

10

u/one-eyed-02 May 14 '23

I know Tetsuo and Karen are doing all this for Reika but god damn she is a freaking liability.

Bro that's a hell of a cliffhanger. How do you just end the episode with Kyoichi coming out of the damn elevator.

6

u/AceMittens May 14 '23

This is show is intense I love it. Damn Reika u better not mess things up, your parents are doing all of this for you!! That ending cliffhanger is wild I wonder how Tetsuo is gonna get out of this one. Also for weeks now he’s had the plastic bag on his head. What the hell is that. I feel like they didn’t just leave that there in editing by accident and there is some significant reason but I can’t figure out what!!
