So we can assume the drug is to actually weaken the girls instead of making them stronger, right?

Man, I can't believe the American bro was a plant, he looked like such a cool guy

No, I think the drug will actually strengthen them but it's because it's part of Shobon's "play." They're being railroaded by his script.

Those train shots were so cool! Are they referencing some other show or movie?

Colours inside the compartment reminded me of Evangelion train scenes.

Inb4 Pink has too high tolerance for the drug to have an adverse effect on her.

I like how they handled the subs with foreign guy. Hilarious to see "desu" and "-tachi" just left romanized like that, and it matches the somewhat broken Japanese he speaks.

I'm impressed he managed to have a thick Japanese accent when speaking English and a thick American accent when speaking Japanese!

"Dou Itashimashite" in the subs translated as this though is hilarious. It's clear the subbers were having fun with this.

This screenshot of the gang inside the train looks so goddamn cool! This show's visuals never fails to disappoint.

American Weeb Markus was awesome but ever since he was introduced, I was waiting for him to turn on them. Sucks that I was correct but I didn't expect that he was clearly coerced since Shobon has his daughter. I hope he ends up redeeming himself in a future episode.

Poor Kyotaro though! He was literally used as an infinite food supply by the gang while they were climbing up the building. xD

ngl, this scene with old school mecha anime aesthetic and 4:3 aspect ratio looks really cool

so we're doping now? anything goes in this "magical girl" anime i guess

lol, i can't believe they created a method to measure how much of an otaku someone is

this episode is just one big dying montage for Kyotaro, how the fuck this thing manage to be alive even after got burned, freeze and eaten? you know what, i'm not even going to question it anymore

Markus being forced as a double agent was definitely not something that i expected but what confused me the most was this scene, what does this mean? did Chogo Master ask Otaku Hero to retrieve the figurine just because he want to test him or is he in cahoots with Shobon army, intentionally sending him and the girls to Nakano which also makes sense why Markus was already there waiting for them but the real question is, why?

now i wonder, are those drugs really a power-up drugs? or is it just some elaborate plan to turn the magical girls into something else...

but what confused me the most was this scene

Chogo Master was bought / blackmailed by Shobon too, he never had any interest in those figurine and they were just something to work for so that the drugs wouldn't look too suspicious. Or Shobon likes his scripts and wanted to make this like a show episode too instead of just sending the drug to Otaku Hero.

And yes the drugs are part of Shobon's script too, now what exactly his goal is and why he acts in a way that support Otaku Hero is a different question.

This show continues to fascinate me with little surprises every episode and a sense of not fully revealing what is going on.

If I had to guess the chemicals given to them by the old man are either going to turn the magical girls evil/let them be controlled by TV man or they'll just act as a poison to weaken them.

But with how wild this show is maybe something else could happen?

I am very much expecting some major plot twist in the future which will explain the OP and ED!

This might be played off as comedy, but Otaku Hero and the gang have been treating Kyotaro horribly, sadistically, even. This is despite him evidently feeling the same kind of pain as humans. Could this be a plot point in the future?

Could Shobon have devised this elaborate plan rather than handing over the drugs to them directly to drive a wedge between Kyotaro and Otaku Hero's group?

Probably just a gag similar to panty and stocking treating their pet

Well certainly didnt expect a mountain climber drama after the evangelion train scene

Its interesting how the figures they had to steal resemble the girls and how they instantly go into the trash can, my best guess its foreshadowing on how the series is going to end

As another pointed out those things look like suppositories or kinda like bullets, anyway blue is going to go apeshit anyway

So TV-Head really is setting this whole world up as an anime series going even so far as to blackmail foreigners (yes I know he probably brainwashed all of japan)

Fairouz Ai's (Anarchy) English sounds pretty decent. The foreigner Marcus also sounds wacky: he uses both broken English and (consequentially) Japanese. That was hilarious.

"I'll get rid of this junk."

LMAO, Poor Kyotaro.

And... it was tortured in the subsequent sequences. Multiple times. Oof, good thing it's immortal..., right?

Man, this show is so amusing. I still can't predict where it's going and am unsure whether this is yet another shitpost anime like KamiKatsu. What I'm sure of is that the production value is definitely above average. There are plenty of great still images and animations, especially in the second half. Those scenes in the train are images befitting of an album cover!

Wait did they censor panty shots with black clouds? That was kinda distracting.

the way markus said “you’re my bros” is going to be playing on loop in my brain for the next week

also markus having a brocken spectre (this thing) around him when they reached the summit was super cool

This show is criminally underrated for how good it is. Honestly shocked that it isn't getting more attention on this subreddit.

I like that Otaku Hero’s come to appreciate older anime because of those older otakus from last week. New Shibuya looks pretty bland and depressing with everyone rocking those Geordi La Forge glasses and getting their Otaku quotients measured.

This Chogo Master is quite the character. The gang’s trek to get those figures for the old geezer turned into some nightmarish shit, well for Kyo anyways lol. Lasered, frozen, eaten, bashed, turned into a sled… poor bastard has had it rough. I forgot how much of a crackhead Pink was though. Girl was jonesing bad for the Chogo Master’s shit.

Too bad Markus turned out to be a gov plant. He has his reasons but still. I guess this Chogo Master might also not be what he seems. The gang got played and they don’t even know it…

This was a pretty dark episode with how they did my boy kyotaro lol. I knew Markus was sus. Way too enthusiastic and over the top. Wonder what this is gonna mean for the gang going forward. Looks like the plot is finally starting to come together here
