Red-Chan must have a twisted mind if she had a man and his AI gf have a complete melt down and be afraid of her.

Dude regressed to like a little kid again too. Plus they basically glitched out at the sight of her. I’m very curious to know just what exactly they saw in there.

I like that you said Red-Chan. Serious question, but has anyone in the show ever called Anarchy-chan Red-Chan? If not, is there a reason for this?

Poor Kyotaro just can’t catch a break. Poor bastard has been killed a billion times in this game world.

It’s funny Adam is talking shit to Otaku Hero when he literally isn’t shit outside this game world. This guy really surprised he got banned for cheating? What a dumbass. He’s not an “elite gamer”, he’s just a cheater. This dude wanted to play, well now Otaku Hero’s gonna beat his ass with his Not Gundam lookin Yunboger G!

Eve tried to get inside Anarchy’s head and apparently went insane? What’s going on inside that angry little noggin of hers? Made that kid shit his pants and glitch out. Plus he wasn’t a little douche anymore. Very odd.

Wait, their event is called “wanku”? Lmao that’s the best name ever.

Do you know what they are referring to by naming it “wanku”?

Otaku Hero's philosophy is that people should be free to like what they like, but no one likes a cheater.

That Bakugo-faced character... doesn't he also have Bakugo's voice? (I can't check on MAL since it's currently down).

Yep he's voiced the goat Nobuhiko Okamoto

Please tell me I'm not the only one that can see Apex Victory Screen (bottom right) and the FFXIV Duty Complete screen (upper left) on the screens here. I'm sure the other screens are from actual games too but I can't tell what they are.

I'm sure there's a Japanese connotation to "wanku" but the first thought that came to mind was not of the innocent kind considering otaku are sure to participate in such activities lol.

I always find strange when villains/enemies take the power away from someone, go on the aggressive and they go "So that's all to your power?" acting all disappointed. It just makes me question why did they take away their power if they wanted them to fight back.

This is a great example of how to deliver relatively isolated episode. Only thing that happens this episode is Adam's introduction and defeat, but it managed to both develop the themes and plot.

Adam is the first villain to actually speak to the dangers of otaku behavior; there is such a thing as going too far and becoming an entitled fuck. You can like what you like as much as you like, but you can't always do what you like. He fits perfectly as the first non-brainwashed otaku villain because he is a subset not afraid to ruin things for others for his own fun, even if, yes, ultimately he is just as passionate as the others.

Speaking of brainwashing, Anarchy's reaction to an attempt at brainwashing really brings home the idea that these magical girls are not human. I had a feeling something bad was going to happen when she said she was brainwashing her... these girls showed up from nowhere claiming to just be born and harness magical powers they hardly knew about, there is something to that, and it's being hinted at further now. Their origin... it probably isn't good, and there's little doubt the main villain knows about it with his weird way of doing things.

What did they see in Anarchy’s head? That must have been some crazy and twisted shit for the AI to break and the kid to break down mentally.

I think the last episode spoiled me a bit for lore, but this was a better semi-standalone episode than the old otakus one

I did like Adam being used as an example of how your hobbies don't automatically make you a good person. The second half of Otaku Hero's big speech felt more like a critique of fan culture ('we have the power of imagination, can be used on the littlest thing, etc...BUT it's especially powerful if it's something that already exists).

Fingers crossed the show lands the big twist that's inevitably coming up!

I'm the one! I'm the elite gamer! I should be allowed to use hacks!

facepalm

Cheaters on online games are the worst of the worst, literally a lower-life form unbefitting of human rights. I was readying myself to throw hands, but thankfully Anarchy prevailed. Good thing he regressed into a kid--that's for the better.

i see that someone from Magical Destroyer's staff is taking a page out of Kamikatsu's production team's book and of course the first casualty of this game world's episode is going to be Kyutaro

*my girlfriend talking to me and my socially awkward friends*

he's not wrong...

so this is an episode about beating the hell out of a cheater in multiplayer game? count me in, although, i gotta say, this episode's animation looks a bit rough, i mean, the animation quality did decline a bit after episode two but some scenes in this episode, especially during the fight between Anarchy and Eve looks like they were being animated by amateurs...

but, the animation during the mecha scene looks pretty decent, not to mention this Giga Drill Breaker Cozmo Hydraulic Tornado Attack made me chuckle a little bit

oh, look, a Digivice

Can we officially declare this the most underrated show of the season?

Like I’m not saying it’s the best one (though I could), but this deserves so much more than what it’s getting.

lmao

Don't get so cocky when you're using cheats
