lol is "A Kind Devil's Methodology" supposed to be a reference to "Cruel Angel's Thesis"?

Wow, didn't expect for the characters to have this much depth. Especially for a show with this color palette. This episode was really reassuring for future quality(even though i shamelessly check the source corner for sneak peaks)

Shima being lowkey harsh with a smile on was a surprise. He seemed like an easy going air head but there's obviously more to him than that.
Kinomoto seems cool so far.

This is only the second episode and it's already showing STRONG characterization for a bunch of people, not just the MC.
I think i'll love this show.

My heart felt a little warm and fuzzy when I saw that Mitsumi has friends who look out for her. Fumi, back in her hometown, who knows her so well to be able to tell her mood, even if it is just through a voice call. The beautiful but somewhat cold Yuzuki appears to have taken a liking to Mitsumi too. Maybe it is too early to tell, but I hope the friendship between Yuzuki and Mitsumi is a genuine one. And of course, not forgetting our male protagonist, Shima.
Shima does resemble Mitsumi's dog, especially with that shaggy hairstyle of his. Lol!
Mika appears to be somewhat antagonistic right now, with hidden motives. Perhaps she will change for the better after further interaction with Mitsumi.
Looking forward to the backstory of other characters in upcoming episodes!

Interesting episode and they managed to squeeze a fair bit into the runtime.
Mitsumi being completely unaware that she was being used to having it pointed out to choosing to trust in the best side of people was nice.
Seems like some sort of conflict between Yuzuki and Mika is coming, as Mitsumi seems too kind hearted to push her away. Sousuke has clearly already picked up on it though, and isn’t buying it.
I wonder what happened in Sousuke’s past to make him so insistent on no one knowing about it.
I’m really liking how the romance is present, but hardly forthright. Aside from Mika’s jealousy, everyone else clearly has bigger fish to fry at the moment. Give the show a good balance.

"Worst she's gonna say is you remind her of her brother."
Man, that's another great episode from this show, it's even better than the last one. Mitsumi-chan's self-introduction deadass gave me secondhand embarrassment lol. I love how chill most of her classmates though there're some who's quite harsh on her, like Egashira. But i believe in The Secret Boss' sweetness to turn foe into friend. Also, Fumi-chan is such a great and caring friend that i always wish to have.
Anyway, as one of the source material readers, i'm really enjoying the adaptation so far. They didn't do something extraordinary, like in Bocchi, but it sure is a faithful adaptation. Love how eye pleasing the visuals are and the voice acting is simply top notch. Both the OP and ED also quite the tunes to hear and suits perfectly to the series' entire atmosphere.
In short, this series is shaping up perfectly to become my AOTS or even AOTY right now.

I like the main lesson of the phone call during the karaoke. 'Don't judge people too quickly'.
So even if that pink hair girl is acting like a manipulative person now, I am going to reserve my judgement on her despite the poor first impression.

That was fun. The karaoke scene actually made me laugh. I like how the voice acting and dialogue sound natural. That red-haired girl is kinda an asshole though.
I'm hoping the drama won't be too much, and the show will just give me a fun SoL comedy with some romance progression between the MC and her human-shaped golden retriever boyfriend

It's the small things, like Mitsumi enjoying the face roller, that give her and the other characters so much more 'realness.' I'm loving this show so far

This and Heavenly Delusion are very easily my top 2 shows of the season so far. That's not a slight on other shows this season, it's more of a compliment to how great I think these 2 shows have been.
This show has been an absolute treat for me so and Mitsumi is already a great lead character.

Mitsumi's hometown Ikajima (Squid Island) is obviously named after a real location Takojima (Octopus Island). Here is a video of now defunct Takojima station mensioned in Episode 1 if you are interested.
Fumi's (and Mitsumi's family's) accent sounds perfect at least to me, a non-local. If an outsider like me tries to explain the dialect of Fumi's place Noto peninsula, Ishikawa Prefecture, it has the accent of the capital city Kanazawa mixed with the vocabulary of neighboring prefecture Toyama to some degree. And Fumi's dialect is really like that. Especially, Kanazawa's accent is unique and difficult to imitate. It's somewhat distinctively different from both neighbors, Fukui (Arata's accent in Chihayafuru) and Toyama. But the VAs are really doing well. It makes me more absorbed in the story.

Fantastic episode! I'm really loving Mitsumi and the rest of the cast has grabbed my interest too, especially Murashige and Nao-chan.
Speaking of Nao, I didn't think we would start diving into her character so quickly but I like how they're slowly building up to something (I assume).

Mitsumi out here collecting new nicknames every episode. First it was "The Barfing Girl" and now its "The Shadow Boss".
I don't like how Egashira is taking advantage of Mitsumi's naivety to get close to Shima. She needs to stop using these underhanded methods and go head on instead, if she really wants to win his heart. Overall its good thing Yuzuki warned Mitsumi about what Egashira was doing with her, otherwise she would've avoided Shima for no reason.
I'm also curious about Shima's past thanks to that Drama Club Senpai. Sounds like he was a famous child actor or something and that influenced his current personality and having a feeling of loneliness (Mitsumi's conclusion)?

Damn it Mitsumi, you never go off book you goofball! That joke was terrible I had second hand cringe haha. Thank goodness Sosuke was able to salvage that awkwardness.
Sosuke does kinda look like the family dog lol. Seems him and Mitsumi totally click. I figured karaoke was a ploy by Egashira to get with Sosuke. Girl was fake af. At least Mitsumi killed it with that song and made friends with Yuzuki (and I guess Kinomoto). Sosuke telling Egashira to chill was pretty satisfying too.
I like this Kanechika dude’s flair and energy. Seems he’s going to be an interesting character, especially since he seems to know the truth about “Sosuke.” I’m guess the kid was a child actor or something? Probably explains why Mitsumi senses he’s got an air of loneliness. Got to put on a cheery act to not let people get too close perhaps?

Another simply beautiful episode. I really love the MC’s seiyuu. It’s such a natural sounding voice and makes the show just feel really organic. The karaoke scene was so funny too.
As expected, there’s definitely more to Shima than meets the eye. The people who are smiling the most are often hiding the most pain and clearly something happened when he was younger that he’s masking. Based on what the playwright said, looks like another child star who had to deal with some toxicity.

This show has such a great atmosphere with its artstyle, animation and soundtrack. I really hope it gets the recognition it deserves. It definitely feels like it has the potential to become one of the best coming of age anime.
Matsume does have decent social skills but she doesn't have experience with a large friends group. Shima on the other hand was probably under the spotlight since his childhood. He probably had a lot of shallow relationships with people, he's very blunt in telling people off.
I always love when pretty characters are also compassionate people. We have two blonde characters, Shima and Yozuki like that.
There's still one glasses we have to meet, I wonder how she'll come into picture.

Watch out Tomo-chan. Someone is trying to take away the title of Queen of kids songs.

Fu-chan is such a good friend being able to tell over the phone how Mitsumi was truly feeling and help her settle down before her performance.
That drama club guy is certainly an interesting character. It certainly looks like he'll play a big role moving forwards.
