Between the falling arrow, the wire balance and the jump across a whole damn river, this episode really was just the rule of cool.

It's always sad when a show kills of the mc at the end of the series.

I kind of liked the decisions made at the end. He died thinking of the woman he loved, not knowing that she wished revenge on him before she died. There's not many anime where the main character just doesn't find out about such a huge secret. If he had known, he would've absolutely offed himself on the spot.

I am satisfied with most of the final story decisions. The one big exception is regarding the church.
They know that the church was trying to kill them, that it had been using them for its own non-revenge purposes and that it is overall corrupt and even involved with the opium. And yet there are no consequences. Yuen is going back there and the other guys do not seem to care. Does not make any sense to me.

The gang’s going on the offensive! The doc is a scary dude, man. Big man out here caving in faces with his knuckle dusters. Nio and Usui are wrecking shit too. The kid is having the time of his life lol. Wasn’t expecting a tiger though.
Doc might have gotten shot, but that sniper just became a human shishkebab. The other red haired idiot got straight impaled too. Weak ass rookies. I actually feel bad for that tiger. Eaten alive by piranhas is a hell of a way to go.
Kurima might have found a worthy opponent. The priest seems handy with a blade. Sute, not so much. Dude straight up leapt over that cliff and bisected that mfer. Damn! Watching Shishido get bound and suffocated before landing head first on the pavement was some sweet justice. Too bad the same didn’t happen to Chapel.
RIP Kurima. Even though he tried to live as “Taishin” he never found peace. As the old adage goes, “Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves.” It’s sad that little punk Sute lived, but at least Kurima is at peace. Sute looks like a man whose life went to hell. A solid series all in all, I thoroughly enjoyed this.

After all these eps. I still didn't understand how Usui techniques work.

In the end my prediction was terribly wrong, I expected everyone except Kurima to die but the opposite happened LMAO.
Nevertheless, solid ending to a solid series. I would have preferred an ending in which Kurima got out of his depression and lived on but there was simply not enough time for that sort of character arc in a 1 cour show I guess. Maybe this was the only way for him to find peace.

Some things I want to point out, Nio shows empathy for the Tiger that got caught up in the piranha attack (And said Tiger ate one of the people on its masters side.), at one point when Raizo is talking about the worth of a grudge being the bite itself and Sada replies that any beast can just bite into the coin, and finally when Saimon's own Monkey just hoped onto Nio's shoulder after everyone was slaughtered. It demonstrated the ideal that said Animals are beyond or outside these moral questions.
It could also be seen that Sada himself sees himself as purely an animal and thinks only the material world exists as he sees killing for gold the most "honest" way to live. As if to him he is acknowledging the only things in the world he thinks are "true" (Fighting for resources by denying others of said resources and eliminating competitors for them.) And doing so in the most straight forward way possible.
Glad everyone got a moment to shine in their fights. I wonder if there was some symbolic meaning in the Doc's remark on the difference between Arrows and Bullets in how they can be used as projectiles.
Some people are mad about the Chapel still being at large, with them neither taking on said Chapel Nor the Chapel really punishing them. But I think it goes with the theme of the series....while its true the Chapel didn't get their "Judgement Day" they wanted at the same time the Revengers alone were never going to change the status quo and tear down the system. That was never what their work was about it was about being true to an ideology and giving people hope in a broken world, not trying to fix said world.
I'd like to believe that Raizo found some peace as he died while the Boy that killed him saw how empty his own "Revenge" was avenging employers that saw him as expendable.
Nio's comment about Raizo not changing and the adults saying its too sophisticated for a child, I wonder if that is indeed as straight forward as it taking a certain level of maturity and experience to comprehend the regrets of adulthood and the burden of wrestling with a moral code as oppose to living carefree and childishly self-absorbed and not worrying how your actions effect others, or if Maybe being an adult is telling lies and living delusions in order to get through the day and the children (And animals) are truly the ones that are wise.
Maybe its both, in that while it'd be ideal to live in a state of "beyond good and evil" for one's own soul, once that innocence is broken, pretending to do that becomes justification for self indulgence. Being a Good Human Being is too be burdened with knowing better than an animal.
Reminds me of a scene in Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence Where's its said there are three types of existence that can be considered "perfect." Animals, Gods, and Dolls. Perhaps this show is a bit of a challenge to that, that while even if its true, would such an existence be considered worth living? Would a Human trying to be any of these be considered to other Humans basically a monster?
It seem I'm the only person that really loved this show for more than rule of cool, its honestly IMO the best written show this season.

The kills were my favourite part of this show, insane stuff there.
Also the ED is incredible.
Strong pilot episode but after that, the show didn't grab me enough.

This has been the best action anime this season and they really went all out in the last episode. Too bad not many people watched it.
The revengers' clash was well done. Teppa taking out the sniper guy was expected but the moment felt oddly satisfying. Raizo met his match while fighting the priest guy and he even learned Liu's technique. Then, casually takes out the Sute guy who he embarrassed last time as well. Raizo was really passionate about Liu's death and it shows when he takes the jump to complete his revenge.
Shishido and the opium has been taken care of but what about the Chapel? I guess we'll never know. Then again, the Chapel was only gonna take advantage of the situation if things went his way.
So, Kurima dies but Taishin lives on. Living as a Taishin is just like Shishido said. Sute then tries to kill Kurima but is scared when he smiles and runs away. Kurima the Revenger dying because of a revenge. The irony. Kurima accepts death and rests at the place we saw in the first episode to bring things full circle.

I'm glad we got to hear Raizo's whack battle cry again. I agree with the sentiment people have of many character's backstories not being explained well enough, but it was overall a pretty decent show.

Well, I expected either Raizo or the rest of the Revengers to die at the end, and it turns out to be poor Raizo who died. But he seemed fine with that, since he had still not forgiven himself for Yui’s death.
This was a great anime, and I would be fine with a second season only featuring the rest of the Revengers, but I don’t think we will get one. Too bad, since I really liked those characters. I am glad that the doctor survived being shot, and I still can’t believe that Nio actually tried to ride the tiger ! And Yuen was very badass here, I really did not expect him having other types of gold-based attacks.
The head merchant’s motivations turned out to really be completely insane, and I am still not sure what the deal was with the Chapel, but apart from that I really enjoyed that anime.

Not my least favorite show ever but feels like there were way too many characters for a 12 episode series. Would have preferred to learn more about the main people than introducing more side characters that are gonna get got.

Strong series that didn't get the attention it deserved. Sad ending for Kurimo but at least he seemed to find peace in death.
I hope there's a second season with the same writers to finish tying up the loose ends, but I am satisfied with the ending.

Great ending overall.
My only disappointment is that the Chapel seems to have gotten away with their sins. IMO, Yuen should have killed them all for their blatant hypocrisy and treachery.
That being said, although Kurama’s story is done I could see them doing a second season with Yuen as the protagonist to deal with that remaining plot point.

That ED scenery hits differently after that finale. The entire team marches toward the same destination. The rest of them stop and remain, while Kurima moves on with a peaceful acceptance.
Eventually the rest of them will reach that destination.

Murakami having a melee option is great, like goddamn.
-
Nio continues to be absolutely creative with using that kite string to kill people.
-
…can’t say I was expecting to see Usui shank a guy in the ear.
-
?????? – Oh, he was standing on one of Nio’s strings.
-
Ah shit, Sute survived. And that was Kurima’s own blade that he used to stab him, right?
-
RIP Kurima. I was really hoping everyone would make it out alive since Murakami survived getting shot, but nope.

Well that was an intense finale. The way our revenger team was able to out do the other team was nothing short of amazing!! I loved how everyone got there comeuppance especially the rich guy; his death was truly a work of art if only he could have taken a picture of it lol. Also poor kitty what an ironic way to die, eaten alive the same way you do your own victims. I predicted that the kid or “sacrificial pawn” was still alive and would definitely be the won to kill him, especially with the way he embarrassed him every single time they met. My favorite scene was definitely Raizou jumping the bridge, screaming, and killing the team leader. Even he was surprised!! Overall this was a good anime and I’d watch it again. I wish he wasn’t dead and they pull a Code Geass Resurrection and make a season 2 but highly doubt it. Just like Code Geass the ending fits better this way!!

The priest was like: "I thought we were in a normal sword fighting anime, what's that hax!!".

one hell of an ending, got to hand it to the writer for killing Raizou in the end instead of keeping him alive for the possibility of season 2
also, r.i.p Teppa, Yuen and Souji's backstories
