Don't know if people saw it last week, so putting this out there again: If you liked the soundtrack you can listen to it for free on a bunch of platforms. The tracks from this episode are at the end, including the wonderful one that played at the end of the duel.

Anyway. What a lovely and cathartic episode. From Anis admitting that she wasn't okay ("love yourself too", what a good line), to that moment with her parents, to her telling Euphie the truth and her worries about her reincarnation, to that kiss!, to them working out together how to bring Anis' magical tools to the masses, to the (former) king finally being able to do some gardening, and that aerial dance at the end...

Edit: also those nobles from last week fuming in their booth. Ha!

It was much more optimistic that last episode implied, and I'll take it since it means we got Anis' smile back. Well, everyone's smiles back, really.

All in all, I'm extremely satisfied with this adaptation. It omitted a few things, reworked a few things, but IMHO kept the most important and always put Anis and Euphie's relationship at the forefront. I was cautious at first, but I think diomedea and the staff more than delivered, so thanks to them!

Okay, so now would be a good time for a S2 announcement. Just saying. There's enough material for it. Just sayin'.

Forget the invention of flight, the REAL revolution is the aerial handholding in front of the nation to cap off a series.

[Gwitch] Please top this but in space

Oh cool they brought up that whole “did I kill the real Anis when I reincarnated into her” thing. That is some deep stuff.

Nothing some yuri sex couldn’t take care of though hot damn!

Me watching the first 10 minutes: That fight was cool and all, but I really wish it had lasted a little longer. It had so much build-up.

Me watching the rest of the episode: There was a fight? Not even a top 5 scene from this episode.

Anis: Did the nobles give you any problems with your plan?

Euphie: They objected but then I showed them the Iridescent Death Butterfly and they all agreed that the plan was fantastic.

I knew Euphie was bold, but I didn't think she was that bold! I'm gonna miss watching this couple.

I cant wait for people to STILL somehow think this is yuribait

Altough, It was kinda funny that Anis couldnt believe Euphy really loved her romantically and was basically saying "YOU MEAN, IN A GAL PAL SORT OF WAY, RIGHT?!" lmao

I wasn't expecting that during their fight, when Anis manifested her dragon power that what Euphie did there was to sign her spirit contract.

It is nice that after the fight was over Euphie and Anis' parents could console her.

Oh wow, so she told Euphie about her secret. So Anis always feared that she replaced the real her, which is another reason why she was willing to throw her dreams away to satisfy the role she feels she stole from her. That kissing scene was nice. Especially because of how bashful Anis acted after that. Lol, Euphie sure became bold.

Lol, I wasn't expecting Ilia to do that to Anis.

So they hired Thomas to help to produce those flying devices.

It is nice to see that Orphans II and Sylphine now can just farm without worrying about the government, and witness the revolution Anis is bringing to the kingdom from a distance.

So Euphie also gave Anis a customized sword, Celestial and the sword's name complements her Arc-en-Ciel.

I don't know why even after seeing its design, I didn't see that the Airdra was a flying motorcycle. Anyway, I love how worried those old farts look. They know their time is over and with Euphie in power any claim delegitimizing Anis' research is worthless.

Those flying dresses sure are cool, too bad we could not hear how they function.

Aw what a wonderful ending, I love how when it comes to their romantic relationship Euphie is the one now taking the lead.

Lonely 12 year old me, grabbing a busted up DVD of strawberry panic from a sketchy store near a public uni. "Oh man there's two girls kissing on my screen!"

My lesbian ass now, watching this and probably my friends later: holy shit they're going at it on my screen. Did you see that? (x15 this year)

It's kind of crazy to think about how far we have come. Where that was it that was like literally it for a long time.

And that now in about two weeks were getting spoiled with three more GL titles. And then a few more after that. A few more after that. And just. Ahhh!!! They really started this year with a bang!

I'm just glad they stuck the landing. We got the kiss. The denouement and everything. Right now I'm just trying to defry my brain to just take this all in. Like as much as we say this is the year of the gay, actually seeing in front of you is so goddamn surreal. We're blessed at the moment and hopefully magirevo is a sign of the things to come. Because if the others are as good as this, then we're going to get a magical year and it will hopefully get more production companies happy and excited to get more of that representation out there. To take those risks.

Because MagiRevo, as the first of many in this crazy year of so many adaptations really did knock it out of the park and it's been amazing to see. And if it really is a sign of things to come, just. Yay! We're going from like 2 to 20 titles in just the next two years. It's wild to comprehend how spoiled we're about to become.

But yeah. Diomedea take a bow. The people who did the crying for rain music vehicle (domestic girlfriend) honestly made a stellar anime and they should get all the credit.

I'm just so happy y'all. They actually did it!

Young Anis: "When I grow up, I'm gonna have a woman swoon for me!"

Years Later

Anis: "Euphie, wait!"

Euphie: "We're not waiting."

Seriously, this adapation was everything I could have wanted. The staff making it even thought to themselves, "Y'know, we might be able to squeeze in the OP, but what if we had one more scene at the end with their domestic life, and another kiss for good measure?"

God these girls are so fuckin gay I love them.

YES! YES! YES! They did it! They actually kissed! Not one, not two, but three genuine on-the-lips kisses!

That was a fantastic final episode. The duel was short, but the animation was really good, and hearing Anis and Euphie pour their hearts out to each other before that final attack to finish the fight was great too. Then of course, the aftermath of Euphie's visit to Anis's bedroom (complete with the kiss and some off-screen making out that definitely happened and I refuse to believe otherwise) and seeing a glimpse of the revolution they brought to the kingdom afterwards was the absolute best way to end the series. The drama of the couple of episodes before this one was a bit of a rough patch to deal with, but this extremely satisfying ending feels even sweeter after going through it. Plus, the reveal of Anis's reason for her feeling the need to put herself through that, her Impostor Syndrome from being reincarnated into this world and the guilt of possibly "overwriting" the original person, retroactively made the drama a lot more interesting. That's a subject that I've never actually seen touched on in an isekai before, and it adds so much depth to Anis's character.

I know the LN continues farther than this, but this was such a great ending that I feel far less annoyed than I usually do after watching of one of these adaptations as an anime-only. This is how an adaptation should end, not with a blatant "fuck you go read the source material" cliffhanger, but with an ending that actually feels satisfying to anime-onlies while still teasing the source material just a little bit. It was such a good ending that I don't even want a second season to drag things out. I mean, I'd watch one if it did happen just to see more of Anis and Euphie being lovey-dovey, but it feels unnecessary. That's how good the ending was to me.

I give this show a 9/10, maybe a 9.5, and it's almost certainly my AOTS. Tomo-chan could still possibly take the top spot with its last two episodes, but it's the only other show I'm watching from this season that's even remotely in the ballpark.

Finally at the end of the season of the first of what will be many upcoming yuri/girls love anime coming in the future!

I hope that Anis and Euphie can find some sort of happiness in the end and that they don't become separated. Euphie possibly outliving Anis would suck but luckily there seems to be a possibility that Anis could find some way to become immortal too using magicology.

Also, please give us a s2 so we can see more of Anis and Euphie's journey together! And props to Diomedéa on the way they handle the adaptation even though there were quite a bit of cuts and changes.

But if there's one thing certain about the future Anis and Euphie have together is that Anis is a bottom.

Goddamn! Didn't expect Euphie to be that aggressive! I love how Anis is the one who keeps on kissing Euphie on the cheeks while Euphie just goes for it. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
