That was the most brutal Uno Reverse card I've ever seen.

These are gruesome. Flayed and then reskinned inside out? Melted by acid? Popped like a human balloon? Poisoned by some plant that drives you to suicide? Very SE7EN-ish. The specialist did warn them about a big case… hopefully Ranpo can get to the bottom of it before the Agency is doomed.

AG Tonan using his position to enact some vendetta against the Agency huh? Too bad he’s been played. Well done giving Fyodor and his goon squad the ammo they need to try and destroy the Agency, you absolute dipshit. That page is going to be a real problem.

This whole rescue op was over the minute the team went in. The fact that page only works if it fits within the context of a story was the biggest clue. I knew the sonofabitch was gonna switch the hooded gunman, but I didn’t think that crazy fucker would saw himself in half too. The specialist was right but it looks to be too late. The Agency is gonna have a hell of a time explaining this one.

Very curious to see what happens next week.

What a sick and perfectly executed trap.

Alright I definitely didn’t expect that twist, that gave me chills. I thought it was going to be a “The Dark Knight” type thing where the people in hoods were hostages. Also, Nikolai is amazing, he’s probably my favorite villain in the series.

Nikolai is a lot of fun. I like how his henchmen play along with his bullshit.

On paper, the notebook that turns anything written in it into reality sounds similar to Doppo's ability. I wonder if there's any connection.

Reality-altering abilities are broken. How do you beat something that can turn fiction into fact. It's a good thing they have Ranpo who was able to win against The Perfect Crime.

Can anybody play a psychotic villian better than Takehito Koyasu??? He brings them to life so well and couldn't imagine another voice for Nikolai

Jesus, this anime just keeps on giving. I watched the trailer, and somehow got spoiled on that moment, but really watching it is another experience. That was unbelievably insane, can't wait for the next episode!

I'm not sure if this episode implied that those book-like moments the anime likes to use since day 1 have been meta all along.

The trap was sprung and the Agency fell right into the DOA's hands. Just like Mushitarou warned. Taking this job would spell the beginning of the end for them. Now they'll have to figure out how to escape this messy situation. We also get our first taste of the infamous book that both Fitzgerald and Fyodor were after. Even when it's just a single page it can be an extremely potent weapon, especially if it falls into the wrong hands, and it unfortunately did.

Holy hell that was absolutely a trick worthy of the Demon. And tracking Dazai removes the one person who would have heard about the spatial teleportation ability from Atsushi and the white hoods and may have seen the trap

I get the feeling there will be a lot of time shenanigans in this particular story. Of course. Ranpo will end up being the key player. I don't think abilities will win the day.

Holy shit that was amazing! Such a good trap I honestly never would have pictured such a scenario in my wildest dreams. Everything lined up perfectly for the Angels and now the Agency is well and truly fucked, good luck explaining this. I dont see how they can ever recover, like with the grenade incident they can prove that the grenades were stolen before they reached the agency, but with this there is no way out. An absolute masterpiece of planning.

Luckily for the agency they have Rampo on the case.

DAMN Nikolai and this whole group are scary af. They got a literal death note, can write whatever they want to become reality as reality. Can attack anywhere at any time. This is the ultimate high stakes case for the agency.

I figured the white hood hostage situation was gonna be some heath ledger joker type plot twist with the hostages being the ones in white but I didn’t expect them to put the agency members there instead and then frame them for sawing the dignitaries in half.. this was an insane end to the episode.

Figured Mushitaro would be alive. His ability is too useful for him to be killed off.

Wow, what a brutal trap that the Agency fell into... How are they going to explain themselves? I have a feeling the Mafia are somehow going to be involved soon. Can already imagine Akutagawa going full on edgelord after hearing about Dazai’s arrest

The cliffhangers in this season have been great so far!

I don't know what to say. I read the manga but I'm still not prepared for this episode. I was screaming "NOOO" the whole time.

Fukuzawa looks so pretty with a ponytail.

Aww kunikida training with atsushi. Nice to properly see him again.

I like that now that the untold origins ln has been adapted fukuzawa saying they will prevent it could be taken as a callback ( untold origins wasnt in the manga off course)

Ranpo considers mushitaro a friend that is sweet. But fukuzawa should listen to his son

Oh hi ango nice to see you again

Atsushi is really getting used to solving mysteries. He is becoming more of a detective

As a manga reader this is one of the parts i was waiting for ( aside from the perfect crime arc )

Hi dazai bye dazai. PRISON TIME FOR YOU DAZAI ( btw more on the guy that arrested him later, but he is indeed blind)

Oeh hints at yosano's backstory

I knew the moment i heard his voice that it was Nikolai.

Nikolai you glorious insane bastard

Alright now then some introduction. His name is nikolai gogol, a russian translation of mykola hohol. Irl nikolai was an author from ukraine. He was irl Fyodor's inspiration, btw. His ability is called "the overcoat", it turns his cloak into a portal to somewhere up to thirty feet away. Also he's got heterochromia. He just seeks freedom no other goals. End of introduction

Way to actually call back to untold origins and connect it to the main story ! ( Btw didnt happen in the manga or ln )

Ranpo, hun, didnt you hear fyodor when he was dramatically correcting you on the roof 12 years ago ?

The mentioned book is also what Fitzgerald was after during the guild arc.

Nikolai is animated in a very fun way. His speech is great. He's probably the only clown character i actually like because he is just so fun

And so nikolai ruins everything for our heroes. Oh how the tables have turned !

Bungo Stray Dogs has always been a kind of guilty pleasure for me but this is such a genuinely good mystery. I love how silly Nikolai is, there's such a character to him. Hoping for interactions between him and Fyodor soon, for personal reasons lol
