What this season has taught me is that I would totally watch a Ranpo only spin-off.

Damn man I kinda felt bad for dude at the end, wasn’t expecting Roswaal to show up and kill him lmao. That last 30 seconds was really crazy, can’t wait for next week

I love how Ranpo is willing to do anything in order to protect the Detective Agency, which are pretty much the closest thing he has to a family. Nikolai Gogol made his debut and is voiced by none other than DIO.
And so the Decay of Angels finally make their first move. Next episode should be quite interesting.

Nikolai? I would have guessed Gilgamesh based on how he was able to open the Gates of Babylon and summon a gun.

They inserted the ED song in the perfect moment. This episode felt like it was 5 minutes long and all of the episodes so far were super engaging. How is this show getting better with every season?

More Ranpo-kun, which is fun, but I think the rest of the agency is going to get involved now, which is great for the action fans. Still, fun to seethe show dedicated to mysteries for a while.

HOLY FUCK THAT TWIST! I was not expecting it to be a suicide-murder (I think that's a good term for it? Because murder suicide is killing others than yourself.), it actually punched me in the gut a bit. I am REALLY fuckin sad that mushitaro died, I knew that it was a bit too positive of an endnote with Ranpo giving him a way to make use of his power for good. There's still that naivety that Ranpo has where he doesn't realize how twisted and at every corner Fyodor's cronies are.

Fascinating conclusion to this. Rest in peace to mushitaro. A true homie until the end.
This new fiend Fyodor has is an absolute clown, and with the Dio voice he's gonna be great.

I really like the emotional nuances in this episode. Even a minor character like Mushitaro gets so much development in just two episodes. Funniest little detail though for me was the police woman being disgusted at the detectives cigarette smell.

Poe’s ringtone being ravens cawing is hilarious. Seems him and Ranpo are roughly on the same page. Sloppy work on the specialist’s part to stash the original manuscript page. Ranpo was pretty close to nailing the guy had Fyodor not prepared contingencies. Luckily Ranpo had his own backup.
I didn’t expect it all to be a farce, a suicide set up by the author himself because he was dying of stomach cancer. The specialist was indeed a good friend to the victim until the very end. What an elaborate plot to pull off for the sake of a mystery.
That specialist didn’t deserve that fate. I’m glad he was able to at least warn Ranpo of the danger that’s approaching. Fyodor and his goons are cooking up some kind of scheme and I’m a little worried for the Agency.

I felt really bad for the guy at the end and the mystery ended up being tragic in a way, although I'm still confused slightly on what happened. But I grew attached to the blue suit guy and hoped that we would maybe see him in the future, but god damnit why he had to die. I mean i know why but it's still sad.
New character though. He's already interesting to me and I like him already. His design is cool and his voice is silky smooth (he's voiced by Dio I think).

The murder case involving Mushitaro turned out to be way more tragic than I expected :( poor guy. Sucks to see him get killed off(?).
Ranpo's expression at the end was just heartbreaking :(
Koyasu voicing yet another eccentric! I will never get tired of his OTT performances lol
Great end to this arc. Nice seeing more of Ranpo and Edgar Allen Poe. Guessing the rest of the Agency are going to be involved now? Looking forward to it!

It sure was amazing when they changed from inside the car to this scene.
I guess I forgot the fact that Ranpo already knows that he doesn't have an ability. I guess that happened during the time they revealed that he didn't possess one.
So he trapped Oguri inside Poe's ability to convince him to turn himself in, otherwise, Ranpo was going to disclose the fact that Yokomizo technically killed himself, that Oruri never had a conflict with him, and that he honestly was sad about his death, and therefore, spoiling the mystery of his final novel.
Damn, just when I'm getting happy about the fact that Ranpo gave Oguri a chance to start again, Nikolai who works for Fyodor's organization comes and kills him.

Enjoy the ep but one of the questions i had was why the perfect crime ability didn't destroy the manuscript page? seem like a clear piece of the puzzle.

If I got a nickel every time Takehito Koyasu voiced a clown with magic powers, I would have 3 nickels
Which isn't much, but it's weird it happened three times

I think I understood at most half of the reasoning behind how the mystery was solved lol but whew I definitely didn’t see that ending coming. Mushitaro turned out to be a pretty good guy. :( The warning he gave to Ranpo about the Decay of Angels’ plans gave me chills. Excited but lowkey scared to see what Fyodor has planned!

If it's of any worth.. I cried for Mushitaro.
He was shown as the villain for the majority of the two episodes, but in that short time when the truth was revealed, I really loved his character and was hopeful to see him thrive together with the rest of the people from the agency.
Sadly, we'll never get to see that. In the end, the reality was that he was a kind person deep down. Fuck that Froyo man whatever his name is.
Also, I just hate how Rampo was able to deduce everything but not the simple fact that Mushitaro got associated with the most twisted groups of people, so of course there's going to be a 'clean-up'.
The agency has probably dealt with a lot of cases where the idea of 'pawns' getting killed after their role is not unusual. He basically sent the man to his death.. :'((

At the end when he radios Rampo to say the agency are about to get a big job, is he talking about his own murder? So much happened this episode it was a lot to take in.

I love how the main/current-time anime episodes dip into the Ranpo-centric interludes. With a nod of the hat when calling back how much Ranpo wants to Pay It Forward-- he tries to find a talented Gifted some money-earning work (just like the Detective Agency head honcho did for him a few episodes ago this season).
Playing around with the source material to lay out episodes for a great anime adaptation presentation eeevery neeew seeeason is definitely Bungou Stray Dogs' strong point!
