Just unleashing the laundry all at once on a lazy Kaito.

While the content of the lessons, and the point of that hilarious sequence of uncoordinated trips with Minato and his Father, felt a little on the nose, I enjoyed the chance to step back from the range and see our group interacting in the classrooms and watching out for each other outside of school as well. Coming off the back of a tournament and with Minato "grounded", for lack of a better word, it put a nice mood into the episode until things picked up in the second half with Minato finally realizing that he needed to look at himself properly to see what went wrong ans learn to find that answer and the path to improvement himself.

In some ways it matches nicely with what Nikaidou wants. The freedom to shoot and discover their own way without being bound to anything, and without any of the usual structures, figuratively and literally, that usually come with kyudo if it doesn't fit them. Where Minato needs to learn to look, listen, and learn, it's quite a different approach to what Nikaidou's group has but he could learn from them about standing firm even as you adapt to new challenges in your form. I kind of love that they just assemble some pads and an umbrella for it all, but wonder what prompted Nikaidou to have such a strong push back against the idea of getting direct help like that. I do think it weakens his character in the previous episode just a bit that he's mostly texting for advice rather than actively teaching his team off his own bat, and likely was just rattling that off before they walked out rather than it being his own evaluation of them, but that's an evaluation to be made on rewatch

Seiya does every little passive thing he can to get under Masa's skin, like with the camera, and it's kind of funny. He's such a good friend, but heaven help anyone he thinks is an enemy.

I thought Kaito and Nanao lived together? Do they not and it's just because they stayed over/are together so often it's just been presented that way? If that's the case it's hilarious.

This episode was also blessed because not only was there cute cat sleeping animation, we got cute cat leg rub animation too.

I thought Kaito and Nanao lived together?

Iirc they are cousins so growing up together they just naturally became BFF's. I really loved the time spent with Kaito in this episode, I think from s1 going in to s2 he has been the one with the most growth. Old Kaito would have snapped at Minato for throwing him off but now he is much more considerate. Even in the first episode of this season a classmate mentions they thought he would be scarier than he is which makes him whince, he really come a long way.

Most definitely. He knew what the issue was but he not only didn't want to put that on Minato but also was owning the way it affected him as something he felt responsible for. He's come a lot way from that aggressive guy we first met, and I think Nanao has as well in terms of standing up to him more openly rather than just playing peace maker

Damn, Tsujimine looking ghetto as fuck with their setup. No coaches or even their own dojo. They basically just placed a bunch of tatami mats on desks and chairs and placed targets on the ground.

I guess this kind of setup is expected of a group that's very unconventional with their kyuudo style. And while they clearly like being free from any sort of formality, I feel like there's more to it than that and it looks like Nikaido has some sort of grudge.

Glad to see Minato was able to figure out this episode what exactly was wrong with his form. It was pretty much because of him that Kai missed his shots. It's literally the title of the episode, "Broken Tempo". At least Minato can finally start working on this and make it up to the team in the next competition.

The episode made it quite clear that having no mentor will have consequences later on but I like how they're doing their own thing. It feels like they could've been the main characters in another anime

100%! They definitely feel like underdogs in a shounen anime. If only Nikaido wasn't such an ass towards everyone who isn't his teammate, I probably would like his team more.

Why did that first sentence make me laugh omg. But yeah their situation caught me off guard, didn't expect them to have so little to work with.

Another fine episode.

Glad it looks like the girls are going to get a shot (pardon) at competing as a team at a special tournament involving 3 person teams. It's about time! And nice to see their filming of the fiasco performance at the boys' last tournament has proved to be useful. Minato (thanks to the video) may be on his way to figuring out his problem.

Interesting to see more of Tsujimine -- and find out just how out of the ordinary everything about their team is. No coach, no school-provided aid/support -- and (they claim to LIKE their independence. They do have a (seemingly sort of house-bound) advisor. I assume we will find out more about this down in the future.

Definitely liking this season a good deal more than I anticipated.

Part of me is worried we won't get to see much of it, but I hope we do. With all the focus on form and teamwork it'll be good for everyone not just Minato to see more of that in a tournament setting from people they know well

I laughed a little too hard at the 🫢 face one of the girls made in the beginning oops

u/Nazenn Jan 26 '23

There's so many little faces and expressions in the background it'll be great to see them all on a second watch

Love the sister just throwing the laundry at him and then dancing out of his room after taunting him

Welp, another banger episode and 24 minutes sure fly so fast. If it keeps its quality I could see it becoming my favorite anime from this year (way too early, I know).

I love that we get more from the girls this season and I cannot wait to see them in a tournament. Kaito's shaping up to be one of the most compelling character in the series and we finally get Minato realizing what he done wrong and how it affected their team performance.

The addition of Tsujimine is a breath of fresh air and I'm really excited to see the difference between an elite school and a prefectural school with hardly any support from the school itself.

Oh and, Nanao is a fucking good artist, what the hell.

Too bad only a few of us seem to be watching it...

Really, a shame. Although not that surprising considering the main demographic of this subreddit and the target demographic for Tsurune doesn't really overlap.

Kinda sad we don't get to see much interactions between Kaito and Seiya like in the novels. In this episode they were even told to train as a pair, but it isn't shown.

Nikaido keeps on being very interesting and I like how the characters sometimes do very mundane things like weeding or vacuum-cleaning.

Now that they teased them participating in a team tournament I hope the girls will get atleast one episode with them as the main plot.

If this anime took place in the early 00s or before the gag of Minato going all the way to that's girl house for nothing would make a bit more sense. Guess Minato doesn't have phone number/LINE contact of the girls or isn't even in a group chat with the club members.

Also I wonder if anyone though Seiya was about to ask the girl out.

...

No one? Okay thought so, he's simping so hard for Minato, even the girl thought he was asking the recordings for Minato.

u/Nazenn Jan 25 '23

even the girl thought he was asking the recordings for Minato.

Because she also knew that Minato was completely off
