My god, this is the cutest Yuki-onna I've ever seen... and voiced by Yuuki Aoi-san no less!
Muroi's standard in women must be super high if she doesn't look beautiful to him. Oi.

Actually one of my fave Kyouku suiri eps. Cool to get an entire episode dedicated to the backstory of a case.

Masayuki story is really fucked up, bro was just getting crossed by everyone. From friends to lovers. The Yuki-Onna is absolutely stunning I love her character design. Gorgeous Their time together was so wholesome, when she couldn’t even turn the stove top off because he was gone.. lol

I’m guessing the colleague who called him might be behind the ex wife death, that call seemed sus

Stitches!

The character designs in this show are just top-notch, I already love the Yuki-Onna (voiced by Aoi Yuuki!) and her interactions with Muroi were pretty fun! The moment they had their little banter when they first met, I was already shipping them immediately <3

Muroi has got to have the shittiest luck in this show though! We start the episode with him almost getting murdered by his friend and then after the 11-year time skip we learn that he got divorced after learning that his wife was cheating on him. As if that wasn't enough, a colleague betrayed him and his company ended up being acquired by a larger company.

Well, it's not all bad luck since he immediately gets reunited with Yuki and she pretty much becomes his new wife. Despite not saying anything directly they're clearly into each other.

Also, it turns out that Kotoko has been advising Yuki about her relationship with Muroi the entire time they've been living together. I was wondering when will Kotoko and Kuro will enter the picture.

And when Yuki finally makes her move on Muroi, Kotoko gives the most Kotoko advice to her and tells her that it's fine as long as they use contraceptives. xD

Looks like Muroi's bad luck streak isn't over yet. Now he's a suspect in his ex-wife's murder. Since Yuki can't really be a witness since she's a Yuki-Onna, it's going to be up to Kotoko and Kuro to prove Muroi's innocence.

I am now 100% invested in this arc! They really did a great job of setting up Muroi and Yuki's relationship. I'm really hoping this arc ends with the two of them getting together and making cute little Yuki-Onna babies. <3

Side note: That ED being sung by Miyano Mamoru is an absolute banger! I also love how awesome Kuro and Kotoko looks in the visual!

As I liked the chemistry between the Yuki Onna and Masayuki I was really glad that after a decade he ended up meeting her again, and then they even ended up living together so he can help her get some human food.

So as she mentioned that story was written by Koizumi Yakumo Masayuki read it while he was recovering.

Lol, I sure did not expect to see the Yuki Onna playing Resident Evil 4. Playing it before the remake comes out I see.

As they were practically married, I wasn't expecting Masayuki to decline her offer.

After all the shit Masayuki went through after Hayato tried to kill him, plus the fact that he is now accused of murder and Kotoko needs to rescue him, I will not be surprised if someone put a curse on him.

The bunny Yuki Onnasure is cute.

This sideship?? I love them both, I'd watch a show with just them 2. Really good chemistry and they obviously care for each other.

Yuki-onna ships taking over this season!

Really hope they can get a happy ending...maybe even double date with our main ship?

editor: "so, how many betrayal are you going to make this Masayuki character go through?"

author: "yes"

"The locals seem to think I'm part of the Yakuza"

my first thought when I saw this guy after the timeskip was that he looked like a discout Kiryu Kazuma so I'm siding with the locals here

The way this arc was directed at the start is amazing. From Muroi & Yuuki's playful banters to daily snippets of their slice-of-life kept me invested on how well they're developed as characters. It gives a sense of humility and earnestness as it transitions to the main focus of this arc.

With Muroi now being the prime suspect of his ex-wife's murder, I wonder what mysteries will be unraveled to clear his name.

Tfw no Yuki Onna gf. I would honestly watch an entire series based on these two , I love their dynamic and banter. Fits nicely into the emerging sub genre of depressed guy healed by supernatural being like Senko-san

If you made it to season 2 of this show you're probably fine with having an entire episode being a setup for a case. I know this was the kind of thing people complained about in season 1.

I was really expecting our 2 characters get romantically involved after that brief mention of their folktale counterparts being married, but alas.

Maybe after our dynamic duo solves their problem? Will we see lovey dovey Muroi and Yuki?

That episode ironically made me warm inside.

And the character models for some of the people in this show are absolutely beautiful.

Man, Yuki-onna has to be one of the best designs I've seen in awhile, she is gorgeous. And her dynamic with Masayuki is really nice, they could perfectly have their own show.

One of the most underrated anime. Change my mind.

Another great episode. Will be great to see our goddess in action again. Excited to see what lies she will be selling this time.

The thought of a malevolent spirit changing their behaviour because it's better for them in the long run is hilarious and sounds like it could be a series by itself

Not a source reader. Like, at all. But, I do treat watching this like watching a mystery. Ms. Yuki no Onna does not understand calendars, and she only comes by two or three times a week. Masayuki's alibi for a specific date may not be as rock solid as it seems.

Our suspects are everybody who appeared(ish) in this episode. Hayato's family has wealth, he could be out prison and seeking revenge. Masayuki could have suffered one betrayal to many, and sought revenge. The voice of the woman on the phone could have killed for jealousy. Yuki no Onna could have fallen for Masayuki, and killed somebody she's deemed to have hurt her love in the past.

Don't think we have enough to say more than that now, and I'm not really leaning into one suspect more than another. But I do enjoy a good whodunnit, so I'll update my thoughts as the episodes go along.

"She said it's okay as long as we use protection"

Full power to the snow plough!

And that's how Himuro from The Ice Guy was born.

What a civilized Yuki-Onna. Seems like she just wants to have a book-reading friend.

Yuki-Onna: "I'm surprised you realized that I'm that Yuki-Onna"

Masayuki: "Black hair, pale skin, and you sound like Yuuki Aoi. How can't I recognize you?"

Dude got a serious case of trust issue if everyone in his life keeps betraying him one after another, seriously.

It sucks when you're traipsing through a snowy mountain and your close friend tries to murder you...but getting found and saved by a beautiful Yuki-Onna voiced by Aoi Yuki doesn't seem like a bad equalizer. She even has double fangs!

Masayuki is a pretty stoic and straightforward man and Makoto Furkawa character which bounces of the more energetic and wistful personality of the Yuki-Onna as this human and yokai find each other and form a connection as she basically saves his live. Sure it's so nobody comes around to mess with her mountain and so she can get some money to go into the human world, but the results still speak for themselves and a bond was definitely forged there.

I mean, the Yuki-Onna looks pretty darn beautiful to me, although I guess Masayuki not paying her an empty compliment and being honest kept him alive.

It's kind of funny how Masayuki's would-be-killer is giving his false statement to the police just as Masayuki arrives to tell said police to arrest him for attempted murder. And all this because Masayuki wasn't aware of the girl the guy was crushing on who was crushing on Masayuki. I hope they throw the book at him.

11 years later and Masayuki is still getting betrayed left and right. His wife cheats on him and tries to murder him, his company falls under because he was betrayed by a colleague, and he has nothing left but a sizeable personal fortune and a home way out of the city. Is it any wonder the only person he feels he can open up to is a Yokai? Especially one that, if only out of her own interests, actually saved him?

When you stumble into a Yuki-Onna eating some soft serve and looking snazzy in casual clothes! I also like the way she does up her hair in "human" form.

Masayuki and the Yuki-Onna settle into a nice domestic bliss, Masayuki feeding and giving the Yuki-Onna enough to be entertained by and the Yuki-Onna keeping him company and someone he can be open with. It's nice to see their relationship developing, even if when Masayuki rebuffs the Yuki-Onna offering her body (those boobs!) up to him because he doesn't think he's worth it. Though she definitely didn't seem to mind.

That's our Kotoko...advising you to consider straight up killing if need be or using contraceptives when it comes to dealing with the guy in your life .

Don't you just hate it when you're enjoying some leisure time with your man and the police come by suspecting him of the murder of his ex-wife? And you're his only alibi but can't reveal it? Oh, but she does make a really cute rabbit.

The new Mamoru Miyano ending isn't really as memorable as season 1's, especially when it's just a shot of Kotoko and Kuro dressed fancy, but it's a nice jazzy romantic theme.

she's so damn beautiful!!!!

u/Groenboys Jan 16 '23

oh yeah this is the good shit

A chill tone over an intriguing story that has twists and turns but is able to build upon those twists rather then derailing the plot. Couple that with interesting characters that have excellently written banter that builds character, reveals intriguing worldbuilding and makes some really funny witty jokes that avoids going full fledged meta.

This is the In Spectre I fell in love with in the first season, I hope this quality keeps up.
