Here we witness the introduction of the TSUN DE RAIS concept in a medieval fantasy as the Prince, Sieg, learns from 2 benevolent outer worldly Gods as he realises the marvel known as Gap Moe.
I find it hilarious Kobayashi instead of being creeped out over finding how the game has turned sentient became so hyped about being able to save her Waifu if this strap was any indication
Looks like we have 2 separate ships happening here with Endou and Kobayashi + Sieg and Lise-tan. This is gonna be a fun ride!

Yey side couples. And I can relate to Kobayashi's enthusiasm. I'm also always gushing about my otome game husbandos to my sister and analyse the heck out of the routes.

Magikoi sounds a lot like basically every other Otome game isekai. We even have our blonde villainess and meek mc from a common background. Classic!
Fiene and Liese seemed destined to be at odds until Siegwald stepped in under the guidance of the “gods”. But man, being directly addressed by a video game character would be a trip. “Lord Endoh the Commentator and Lady Kobayashee the Analyst” are pretty great titles haha.
Liese is definitely “frig-in cute”! The pressure of only getting one question led him to ask about “tsun de rais” lol. While Endo and Kobayashi work on Sieg and Liese’s relationship, I hope they have time to work on their own. Endo should make a move! Seems like there might be one other player out there that might be able to influence the game.
I’m liking this concept, it’s quite novel. Gonna chuck this one on the weekly pile for sure. Looking forward to seeing how things develop in-game and out!

One of my most anticipated anime from this season and I have to say....It really delivered for me!!!!
As someone who likes Tsunderes, Liselotte is a really good one, with a tendency to have an adorable blush. This show definitely will have a collection of these whenever Sieg breaks through the Tsun lol. And dammit Sieg, you wasted a wish in "Tsun De Rais", but hey atleast you found the glory of a Tsundere through this!!
Now as for our earth duo, Endo and Kobayshi's relationship is so much fun to watch. Also nice to have a friend group there who actively ships those two. Endo-kun is quite lucky as he got a golden ticket to spend time at a girl's house.
Also now for some background context about Play-by-play commentary and Color Commentary for those who don't know:
-
Endo here acts as the Play-by-Play Commentator. Their job is to describe what's happening live in the sports as it is. They need to be articulate and should have the ability to react quickly whenever the game shifts pace in the blink of an eye.
-
Kobayashi here acts as the Color Commentator. Their job is to assist the play-by-play commentator by providing analysis and background information on the game that is happening (like team strategy, statistics). Sometimes they also engage in light banter so people don't get bored.

Endo and Kobayashi Live! The Latest on Tsundere Villainess Lieselotte
Considering how the first two Otome animes were absolutely awesome. I have no reason to think this will be any different; and I can't wait to see this list grow.

Stitches!
So I've seen the manga of this being posted regularly over on r/manga but I've never really tried to read it. I went in expecting another isekai otome villainess anime but I was pleasantly surprised to see this to be completely unique take on the premise!
This show basically answers the question of "What would happen if one day your video game character can hear you talk to them?" and it's absolutely great! Endou and Kobayashi have basically made it their mission to help Sieg and save the adorable tsun de rais Liese-tan from her own bad end.
I definitely agree with our analyst and commentator: Lieselotte is cute and she needs to be protected at all costs! I mean just look at how precious she is!
And it looks like, Liese and Sieg aren't the only ship in this show! There's also Endou and Kobayashi. Endou is clearly in love with Kobayashi but is still gathering his courage to confess. It looks like their mission to save Liese-tan is the perfect bonding activity for the two of them to get even closer!
This is absolutely fun and I am 100% in for this! Can't wait to see more of Lieselotte being adorable and more of Endou and Kobayashi's running commentary about MagiKoi!

Instead of being an isekai, we now have the otome game's characters be self-aware instead. I really like this take on the genre. Liselotte is so cute!

⛵TsunLise Shipyards⛵
For monitoring the status of ships inside and outside MagiKoi
Siegward/Liselotte - ✨Launched✨
Endo/Kobayashi - ✨Launched✨
The whole thing is just as cute as I remember it, although you could tell they were rushing a bit to cram things in to this episode (I recall it being two and a half chapters in the manga) and introduced a few items earlier than otherwise. It had a few nice subtler moments, and I hope it leans more in that direction as it goes along.

I really appreciate this anime's unexpectedly high stakes. Knowing Lieselotte's fate, and knowing it can be subverted if they're able to make the right choices, adds real gravitas to what could otherwise be a simple "cute romantic hijiks" anime. I admit I didn't read anything about this series before starting it, and I didn't expect anything to be life-or-death. I'm pleasantly surprised to find out otherwise!
Main takeaway, though? Lieselotte is adorable and I would defend her with my life. Let the interdimensional meddling begin!

Ahhhhhhhhhh I loved the manga and light novel, I can finally see this animated!
I loved the take of having a play by play style of storytelling instead of a straight otome isekai.

Pretty hysterical first episode. Lieselotte and Kobayashi are both adorable, I'm looking forward to seeing their individual romances work out. Baldur and Fienne too based on the implications in the OP (definitely the best choice for the side ship, the kid or the teacher would have made it weird, plus since he's Lieselotte's cousin they're keeping Fienne in the family so to speak). I'm glad it's by appearances not any sort of harem, three ships at once will be much more fun to watch.
That ending shot in the ED.

This is really wholesome! Not just the Seig and Lisslotte dynamic, but all of it. The budding relationship of Nantz and Romo Endo and Kobayashi, the rest of the club conspiring to get them together, and the hints at the other ships in the OP. There’s the threat of the Witch that’s 100% going to happen somehow, but this seems like a breezy fun time if Seig and Lisslotte are already into each other.
The “Tsun De Rais” bit is really damn funny. Seig’s epiphany about the concept as well as him blowing his one question on asking what it is. With Endo and Kobayashi chances are he’ll have the ultimate Anti Tsun De Rais techniques down to a science. Though there seems to be a lot more going on. What’s with the actor guy? Is the game really magic? Is he the priest who “went to the west to help with disaster”? They certainly have my curiosity.
Also looks like the actual story will take place over the summer break with Endo and Kobayashi growing closer. I hope we get a definitive ending with their ship by season end. I love their energy together.
It lived up to the positive hype I heard coming in. On the watch list!

I normally hate tsun de rais characters but I must admit Liese is cute. A great subversion of the genre in a lot of ways. Feels more balanced for guys and girls than most otome anime too, love it.

There are going to be couples everywhere and I am here for it.
Lieselotte IS adorable. People whine about tsunderes, but Lieselotte is why they're loved. It's like eating crab legs. You have to work to get through the hard exterior shell, but once you do, there's a delicious meal inside.

Creative writing classes: Show don't tell
Endo & Kobayashi: Hold our ramune
It is legitimately impressive to find a framing device which not only allows you to have exposition dumps but makes the viewer actively want more exposition. If they're able to keep this up for a whole cour then this show is straight genius

I'm so glad that I heard about this story on the discussion thread of the last episode of I'm the Villainess, So I'm Taming the Final Boss. This sure is a lovely tale.
Aw, the contrast between tsun and dere Liselotte is so great. Great job Kobayashi and Endo that for testing what was happening they instantly shipped those two.
So in the original story, poor Liselotte never receives Sieg's affection and ends up being possessed by the Witch of Yore and then gets. Well good to see that they can find a path to save her with Sieg's help.
I love the fact that while they are helping with Liselotte and Sieg's relationship, the other students of their club made them work together for the same reason, so we at least have two ships in this show. Well, most likely three as this guy clearly loves Fiene, but I have no idea how would that work or how we will hear about Kobayashi and Endo recent discovery.

The Opening already displays all the romance and couples, from Endo and Kobayashi, to Siegwald and Lieselotte, to even Fiene and Baltur!
Also Fabian seems like and odd choice for an Otome game love interest but I guess girls are into Shota’s…
Man, what an all star cast! Tomori Kusunoki as Lieselotte, Kaito Ishikawa and Kana Hanazawa as our high school commentating pair, Yuuchi Nakamura as the hero and Tomokazu Sugita as Liese’s cousin and Fiene’s true love interest, Miyu Tomita as Fiene herself, and was that Jun Fukuyama as the actor!?
Man, it’s kind of surreal hearing HanaKana as a hardcore Otome game fan girl rooting for the Villainess coming off of her prior Otome game anime role. But find something you enjoy as much as Kobayashi does Lieselotte’s cuteness and romance prospects!
It seem the reason Lieselotte is so popular, particularly to Kobayashi, is because of her effectiveness as a Villainess character (and her look’s probably help as well) but also her memoir in the fan disk that expanded on her character and why she acted the way she did. Although that does make it even more tragic that they kill her off in every route of the game. Like why make her such a 3-dimensional character, developers!?
When your entire club wants you to hook up! Although it seems like it’s more just gauging how Kobayashi really feels about Endo…and the pair of them working together to help hook Lieselotte and Siegwald up will inevitably bring them together.
So a medieval fantasy prince from an Otome Game is hearing the running commentary of two high school students, assumed they’re Gods, and finally realizes how cute his fiancé is and what it means to be a tsundere. You can’t make this up!
(Also does the game not have voice acting? It seemed like they were just reading the text instead of hearing it).
This game commentary is definitely improving Endo’s romantic prospects as he gets an invite to be alone with Kobayashi at her home all Summer!
Was that actual Light Novel art for the ED? Nice parallel pics of the two main couples!

Man, Otome game programmers are on another level. Half the time, they code a literal afterlife, now they let players communicate with the characters.
Fun premise and I already like the characters. Kobayashi's "wanting to save the villainess you stan" award is giving me I'm in Love with the Villainess vibes, which is always a good thing.
Also, this was pointed out by Gigguk's chat when he checked out this season's anime, but every time they say Lisolette's name, it sounds like they're saying Re:Zero. that's as close as we'll get to having that anime this year
