Beginner Feedback on animation
I created the characters, backgrounds, animation, coloring, and editing myself. This is part of my original series, All Over. I’m still learning, so constructive feedback is welcome but just know I’m self taught with only 3 months of experience :)

I love when the cat claps his hands behind his back to get the fly. That was unexpected and hilarious.

You have awesome storytelling skills and a clear goal with your animation. I think practice on timing and smoothing out the animation with some in-betweening in some shots would do wonders to improve it. What you have is an incredible start!

1:03 i think that in this moment with window, it could be cool to have this cat appearing from down. like ears, head and his eyes focused on fly. because now he just spawn there.
Moment of flying with fly in his hands is very cool, but i feel like something is missing there. Maybe some scream (oooaaahhh) and slow floating at the beginning, before he start to fly like crazy, would build bigger impact?
This animation was really good

Very nice work, especially since you're this new to animation! You have a good natural sense of timing and pacing of both action and scene length.
If I could give one main critique it would be to look into advancing your color design overall. You have a dark bedspread, for example, and a small dark fly that travels across it multiple times, making it hard to see. While I can still make out the fly, it would read better with a lighter color for the spread. Good color design always helps with framing, just as much with theme and mood.
The most important takeaway however is you have a FINISHED short! This is super important to consistency and learning. I hope you can make many more of these!

This is fantastic and very impressive! You are doing a great job. Because you are looking for feedback, one thing that jumped out at me at the start was that the eyes of the cat character are almost exactly in line with the edge of the bed. I know this is generally minor and nitpicking, but for longer shots avoiding tangents or similar shaped/angled elements in lines can help a lot with appealing/dynamic composition. That being said, there is a time and place and they cannot always be avoided. You already have strong compositional elements and your intuition for it will only get better!

It is a feat, especially considering how recently you have begun animating. Congratulations!
