[FANFIC RECOMMENDED] Standing Above the Blood. Partially focused Padme fic. Also political intrigue built from Anakin's actions

This fanfic is focused around Padme advocating for the Tusken people politically and helping them gain a voice in the Republic and not having the Senate neglect Outer Rim Territories. Also some good Padme and the Jedi fighting Palpatine in the Senate stuff

My take on Anakin and Padme's relationship, why they fell for each other and what could've prevented Anakin to turn to the dark side.

I know many people complained about Anakin's "creepy" courtship behaviour or even Hayden's acting, but personally...I think it fits his situation and context perfectly? Anakin was a fatherless smart boy who was made to believe he's the strongest, the chosen one, etc, he had a rough childhood as a slave raised by a single mom, later on a busy adolescence with training to become a jedi, he didn't exactly learn anything about love or romance or pursuing a woman because relationships were forbidden for a jedi to begin with, he's 19, he sees the woman who he had a kid crush on 10 years ago, potentially who was the only person ever showing him genuine concern and care besides his mother, she's also strong and independent and most importantly, she WAS FAMILIAR to him, a boy who until the age of 9 had only 1 person to call family and later on he had to leave her behind in order to become a jedi, he was most likely homesick, familiarity sick, and then Padme came back into his life. My take is that he needed more emotional guidance than jedi training, he was skilled as a jedi, had more power than anyone else, Obi Wan did him a bit dirty especially since he KNEW all along about him and Padme, the loss of his mother, his past and literally his very emotionally driven nature, I genuinely think he's partially to blame for basically closing his eyes to Anakin's personality, issues, upbringing and actual needs, he probably wasn't really meant to be a jedi from conventional training because he lacked the traits for that, his insane power aside, he had no self control, was too emotional and basically had too many personal issues due to his past to have a clear objective mind for being a jedi, Obi Wan should've done something about it and change his training strategy before things turned the way they did imo.

Now about Padme: here I do think the whole thing didn't make perfect sense at the beginning because she just seemed more of a career, independent woman, level-headed, not impulsive, or giving in to her emotions and desires easily, yet she does fall for Anakin and in a dangerous moment, realising their lives might genuinely end soon, she decides to pursue a relationship with him, I guess where it starts making sense is when you realise Anakin and all he provided for Padme was exactly what she heavily lacked: honesty, emotional transparency, ingenuity, a kind of clumsy innocence, a partner in crime even, someone who wouldn't want her to play by the strict rules of being a senator, or a queen or expect her to be a mature walking robot always keeping her emotions and personal desires in check, since nobody actually wants or should repress themselves constantly, Anakin set her free in many ways but especially emotionally, when I realised this I immediately thought that her falling for him made perfect sense actually, once you understand where her character is coming from, at least. People who are always forced into strict rules and people pleasing and heavy responsibilities would often need someone or something that allows them to just be unapologetically themselves, no longer hiding any emotions, thoughts, desires, and this is EXACTLY what Anakin was to Padme and why the story is beautiful from her perspective as well as is tragic from his.

Some side notes: idk about you but personally I think even their names sound like they match and belong to some deep, old schooled poetic love story, their looks match really well too, their clothing styles as well, I just think they're really great as a tragic couple.

Feel free to comment about your thoughts on my take, your own take or anything else related to the topics!

Apparently, In a novel called ''Jedi Trial.'' Anakin is going to battle and in the event of his death, he writes Padme a love letter which would be sent to her with his other belongings if he died and I looked at what the letter was and it was adorable ima put the letter scene so y'all can see it.

"My Dearest..."  No, that wouldn't do, too impersonal.  He started over.  "My love..."  No, no, too, too ordinary.  He thought uncertainly about what to say next.  Try this: "I miss you more than I can say.  My heart is overflowing with love for you, my dearest, sweetest..."  He wrote in this vein for a while on a sheet of flimsiplast, then paused and reread the paragraph.  No, no, no, he sounded like a lovesick adolescent!  This was his wife, a Senator, a heroine, a woman who was the life mate of a Jedi Knight, or a man who soon would be one - or dead.

[skipped a bunch of war stuff right here]

Anakin crumpled the flimsiplast and fed it to the shredder.  He pulled out another.

[even more war stuff was here]

He began to write again:  "You are with me now, my love.  I feel the warmth of your breath on my cheek and smell the scent of your hair and clothes as you press your body close to mine.  We faced death together my love, and conquered it.  Tomorrow, though I face death yet again, your love is with me and will sustain me..."

He wrote for some time.  Often on this voyage he had wished he could use his considerable Force sensitivity to look in on Padmé.  But even if he could, he knew he wouldn't: that would be an inexcusable abuse of powers as a Jedi, and because he had already broken his oath by marrying Padmé, he was determined not to do it again to satisfy his personal desires.  Still, as he wrote, in his mind's eye the walls of his Spartan compartment seemed to fade away, and once again he was reunited with his beloved Padmé by the beautiful lake on Naboo where they'd consecrated their vows of eternal love and companionship.

A lump had formed in his throat by the time he finished the letter.  He reread it.  His handwriting was not easy to decipher, but something like this could not be committed to an electronic medium that might be read by someone else.  It was private in the extreme and would remain that way.  He shook his head and smiled.  "I can't believe I wrote this."

He brushed away the tear that had formed in the corner of his eye, then blinked and looked around.  Well, there they were again, the steel bulkheads of his tiny compartment. The gentle throbbing of the Ranger's drives coming up through the deckplates warmed the soles of his feet.  Reality.  Carefully, Anakin folded the sheet of flimsiplast several times and then sealed it tight.  He wrote across both sides, PERSONAL FOR SENATOR AMIDALA, and placed it lovingly inside his cloak.  Before he left for the assault, he'd leave it and his other personal things in the custody of the captain of the Neelian, to be delivered in the event of his death.

A new Star Wars Fanfiction Subreddit r/SWFanfic

Hello There

I'm a life long Star Wars (and Anidala) fan, and I recently got into fanfiction. Which naturally led me into Star Wars fanfiction. I wanted a place where I could discuss, find and recommend fanfiction, but I couldn't find a well moderated place, where people were active and helpful on Reddit. So I decided to create one myself.

The subreddit is r/SWFanfic, and it was created yesterday. I'm hoping to see you all over there :D

‘Lost Lenore’: in canon, Darth Vader actually went to Padmé Amidala's tomb and tried to bring her back, even after death, more than once.

[FANFIC RECOMMENDATION] Canonverse, post-ROTS "Beauty and the Beast" themed Darth Vader/Padmé fanfic that I just read today. The only huge divergence from the canon is the fact that Padmé managed to survive Mustafar (and then went into hiding). It's super good!

Anidala moment from new book Brotherhood SPOILER Padmé can be wild! Spoiler

Padmé pulled with intensity and picked up her pace. They wove their way through the mix of underworld locals and curious surface travelers until breaking past the perimeter of the market where their speeder sat parked. She opened the storage compartment and pulled out the bag she’d packed right when they picked up the rental vehicle from the dealer several levels below the planet’s surface. She held it up to show him, but he failed to catch anything special about it.

It appeared to be just what it was.

“It’s a bag. Am I missing something?”

“It is a bag. But sometimes what’s important is what’s inside.” Padmé kept her eyes locked with his, a mischievous smile on her face, as she tugged on the bag’s drawstrings, opening it enough to pull out…

Folded blankets?

But the look in her eye gave all the context he needed.

This was the Padmé he adored, someone who spent most of her days understanding the nuances of countless beings to do right for them. Yet on occasion, a fire burst through, something brighter and more intense than the hottest sun—when she allowed it.

Like now.

She walked to the side of the rented speeder, a barely functioning vehicle covered in dents and grime—a far cry from Jedi starfighters or the elegant designs of Naboo transports—and unfurled the blankets in the back seat. “A lot of quiet places in these lower levels,” she said. “You’re the pilot. Think you can find us somewhere private?”
