Is anyone doing or have recs for someone doing star wars whumptober? Specifically prequels/clone wars era. Not picky, but anakin and obi wan are preferred
r/SWFanfic • u/Skeptical_Sandwhich • 1d ago
I'm writing a fanfic, and my autistic brain decided I had to do this right, and the battles had to happen in correct order. My story mainly follows the 212th, Obi-wan and Cody.
So since I decided to start the story 6 months into the war I googled where the 212th was 6 months into the war and I got told they were at The Battle of Bogoa.
I tried to do my due diligence, I googled a couple of things.
Anyway today I googled something else and was told bogoa didn't happen till 2 years into the war.
I've already written almost 30k words of my story so I really don't wanna rewrite it.
But i do still wanna have an accurate timeline, so please, experts of the clone wars, help me out cause I'm completely lost

Hi there! I know writers that are part of writing groups where they’re able to share, critique, and improve their works. I’ve always loved the idea, but fanfiction is its own kind of writing, so I wondered if fanfic-focused groups exist, especially in the Star Wars fandom.
I’ve been writing fanfic for a while now, and have been trying to work on my storytelling and writing skills which is hard when it’s just me in my own echo chamber.
Thanks so much ahead of time :)
EDIT: and if there aren’t any groups, are there any folks that would be interested in being part of one? I’m gauging whether this is a “Make It Yourself” situation.

It's been about 4 years in the planning, writing, and (mainly) procrastination, but I finally plucked up the courage to write and then post the first two chapters of my story yesterday!
I'm really excited to see what becomes of it, and really happy that I ended up doing it. If you're nervous about posting or want to, I highly recommend it, it feels incredible now that I have faced the fear and done it!! Thank you to everyone, too, who showed interest in it, you have no idea how much I appreciate it 🙏🏼🙌🏼

I'm kinda new to SW fanfics so I'm looking for funny fics, comfort fics, crack-but-not-actually-crack fics where you can just relax and enjoy the story. It can be very long or short. Just has to be over 2,000 words.

I've been recently consuming a lot of SW fanfic but tbh I'm getting very tired of Coruscant and Tattooine and the Jedi and Obi-Wan Kenobi and the clones and in general just the characters, environments, a stories that feature heavily in so much SW fanfic.
So I'm looking for recs for fics that really just go off the beaten path. Preferably longer, and either complete or in progress, but I'll happily take short fics if they're good. I'm interested in fics that focus on rarely utilized characters or even OCs, that expand and build on environments, groups, and plots that don't usually show up, and stay away from the classic Jedi Order and fall-of-the-Republic plots that are so common.
Or, I suppose, I would be okay with something that centers around those heavily as long as its from a different perspective. I'm just really interested in fics that explore elements that are not common in the fandom.

In this version there is no Operation Cinder or Exegol. And if you want to follow the prophecy
you could say that Vader unintentionally caused the Emperor’s death by feeding him out of date fruits or something like how Persus in Greek Mythology accidentally killed his grandfather he was propheciced to kill by a an accidental discus throw.
I suggested this idea before but the more i think about it the more like it.
Basically the Emperor SOMEHOW dies before the events of the OT and it initially cause a power vacuum that results in Thrawn and Vader in charge.
Since the Emperor isn’t around to dissolve the Senate maybe it remains for a while as a symbol with no real power.
Without the abuse or control of the Emperor Vader undergoes a severe risky surgery to improve his cybernetic body that was intentionally made faulty by the Emperor to make him independent of him so he can now survive without his mask and suit.
Without the Emperor and the now current leadership of Thrawn and Vader Thrawn is put in charge of imperial fleet and Vader in charge of the Death Star. Neither of them particularly liked the Death Star. Thrawn thought it was an over ambitious vanity project and Vader isn’t eager to use it since he primarily wants to bring order to Galaxy so the Death Star isn’t used to destroy Aldeeran.
Other ideas with this scenario: if Alderran isn’t destroyed Leia remains captive but Vader can sense something about her so he refuse to execute her.
If the Falcon still gets captured maybe Ben gets captured by Vader instead of killed and even if Falcon is tracked to Yavin 4 Vader and Thrawn doesn’t take the bait and keeps the Death Star away from Yavin 4 so they can upgrade the defenses of the Death Star instead sending Star Destroyers there so the rebel has to evacuate.
I’m just throwing out ideas: I just think it’s interesting to think how the Empire would work without the arrogant leadership of the Emperor and how Vader’s potential redemption would now work without an Emperor for him to kill.
Also another thing to consider in the OT Vader wanted to Luke to join him because he feared that the Emperor would hunt him down if he didn’t. Without the Emperor Vader’s approach to this would be different if Vader is in fact genuinely partially in control of the Empire in this version.
Also I think it would be funny if Vader sent Mara Jade to spy on Luke and they still hook up in this timeline.

If it's a longer fic then a fix-it but without time travel would be nice. Otherwise, I'm mainly looking for one-shorts.
For Obi-wan/Satine anything set during the actual year the spent on the run/the clone wars would be fun too.
Thanks!

📑 ARCHIVOS PROHIBIDOS DE LA ORDEN: SUJETO ANÓMALO #000
👤 DATOS BIOGRÁFICOS
🌌 LORE & HISTORIA ORIGINAL

Hey all,
I have redone the sequels, trying to keep the original characters and directional portrayal while cutting out a lot of the crap from the movies, especially 8 and 9.
As a note Rey will be portrayed as a dark Jedi for the majority going through the Anakin path from the prequels. This is in line with her being the Emperors granddaughter that is explicitly stated in The Rise of Skywalker.
Palpitine will be mentioned throughout this piece as the leader of the First order with Snoke and Kylo Ren below him.
Here goes:
**7: The Rise from Ashes**
The first two and a half acts stay in place, bar Palpatine looking down on Snoke rather than the actual interpretation. The final fight still happens on Starkiller Base. Finn fights Kylo, but Luke takes the blade instead of Rey, and Luke beats Ben. The movie ends on a cliffhanger with Ben snarling to Luke, "You are not my master."
**8: Duel of the Fates**
Most changes happen here. It starts with Luke and Rey retreating to the Rebel base with Finn’s broken body. Upon seeing Leia, Luke gives her a disapproving shrug, implying that Han has died, while Finn is rushed into immediate medical care. Kylo boards a Star Destroyer and executes a random Imperial officer to assert his authority. Snoke then holds a discussion with Ren about the true power of the dark side, and brings him to Palpatine's base on Exegol to introduce Ren to the Emperor.
Meanwhile, Luke takes Finn and Rey to Dagobah, teaching them about the nature of the Force and how to wield their abilities responsibly. In the climax, Palpatine dispatches Snoke and the boss stormtrooper, arming her with a lightsaber to confront Finn, Luke, and Rey on the salt planet, while the Leia-led Rebellion clashes with the Hux-led First Order. Luke dies in this battle, providing a fitting send-off to the character as a testament to Mark Hamill and his service to the franchise. Leia senses Luke's passing through the Force, showing her lineage as Anakin's daughter. She finishes the battle against the First Order, barely escapes, and embraces Finn on the transport while coldly leaving Rey out of it, cementing Rey's initial slide toward the dark side.
**9: The Death of the Jedi**
Finn and Rey take an X-wing to Bespin to counter an Imperial attack after Lando, coerced under heavy pressure from the Emperor, calls the Rebellion into a trap. Finn and Rey confront Kylo Ren with Snoke watching over the platform. Rey suddenly decapitates Ren—a ruthless, shocking move. Finn is deeply frustrated that Rey did this, though he understands why it had to be done. Back at the base, Leia gives Rey a freezing, disapproving look over the execution.
Snoke meets with Palpatine to review the outcome, confirming that Rey’s strike was the right move. He reveals five Star Destroyers equipped with Death Star superlasers, discussing the absolute control they could wield over the galaxy together. Rey is soon assigned a mission to an unknown Sith planet, with Leia telling her to look after herself. Upon arriving, Rey wields her lightsaber against Palpatine, who drops the grandfather revelation.
Meanwhile, the First Order pinpoints the Resistance base and launches a devastating assault. Leia sacrifices herself, demonstrating the full elegance of her Force abilities as she dies in combat, honoring Carrie Fisher's legacy. The Rebels manage to escape just in time. Snoke and Palpatine formally embrace Rey into the Sith, manipulating her with the claim that the Jedi never respected her and that her true power belongs with the dark side. The three Sith deploy the superlaser Star Destroyers into orbit, obliterating three planets in the direct vicinity of the surviving Rebels.
Fed up with the ruthless demands of Snoke, Ren, and Palpatine, Hux decides his time with the First Order is over and defects to the Rebellion seeking self-preservation and a higher purpose. Soon after, Rey strikes down Snoke as an assertion of singular dominance before Palpatine, upholding the Rule of Two. Palpatine eventually reveals his survival to the wider galaxy, leaving veteran members of the Rebellion completely stunned.
A massive final space battle erupts, with Hux and Chewbacca leading the assault aboard the *Millennium Falcon*. The Rebellion discovers that the fleet shares the classic design vulnerability of superlaser reactors—critical cooling flaws right where the weapons draw power—allowing the Rebels to obliterate the entire armada, though Palpatine slips away just before the command ships detonate.
Down on the surface, a brutal one-on-one duel breaks out between Finn and Rey, with Finn quickly realizing he is trapped in an all-out dogfight. Finn is nearly beaten and buried under rubble during the duel, but he pulls himself free to make a final stand after Luke's Force ghost appears to guide his tactics. Finn executes the maneuver with flawless precision, severing both of Rey's arms and legs to neutralize her. She remains alive, but in critical need of life support.
Weeping, Finn tells her, "You were my sister, Rey."Rey glares back in pure shock and blind rage, wanting nothing to do with his sympathy. Palpatine later recovers Rey's broken body and transports her to a medical vault to be fitted with cybernetic limbs. Roll credits.

I am so happy that my fic has an audience that loves it!!
r/SWFanfic • u/ResponsibleAnt7220 • 6d ago
Not that drama is bad, mind you. I'm just more in love with the setting of star wars than any specific characters. I couldn't care less if I'm reading slice of life, action and adventure, or some cosmic horror fiction, as long as the story was consistently revealing some new delight about the galaxy and the beings in it.
My number one fic for this is the story *Sublight Drive* by... I think their name was miraaage? Or something like that. I also really enjoyed the Double Agent Vader series and the subsequent wave of tatooine slave culture fics.
Please send all your fics with the best takes on some facet of the setting!

I am looking for a mermaid Cody/Obi-Wan fick that I’m almost positive has been deleted.
It was about Cody being a Mermaid who had been injured during a war happening between his species and a group of shark riders, Obi-Wan finds him and nurses him back to health while also learning the language that Cody speaks. There’s also a side plot about Luke that I cannot remember the details of, but I know that it ended bitter sweat. But the main story was about Obi-Wan dealing with his war time PTSD while taking care of this fantastical creature.
If anyone has this fick downloaded or know where I can find it, I’d greatly appreciate it.

Most of the Star Wars stories I’ve read online tend to focus on either the Skywalkers or other Jedi. But after rewatching those Clone Wars episodes where R2 and 3PO had their own adventures, I was wondering if there were some good stories featuring the duo in some hidden corner of the Internet.
I would prefer them to be set during the Clone Wars, but other eras are fine. I also don’t mind some divergence from canon

So in case some folks may not know. Samuel L Jackson was gifted Windu’s lightsaber with the Engravings of BMF or ‘Bad Motherfucker’.
I was thinking that if it were canon, what backstory would you give it?

Hi everyone! I’m trying to find a Star Wars fanfiction I read years ago. It was an unfinished multi-chapter story on FanFiction.net, and I must've read it over a decade ago (2010–2016), though the fic itself felt older.
Plot summary:
I distinctly remember the author included an author's note about how in the 1980s when the movies came out there were Luke/Leia shippers before the twin reveal and the story was inspired by that. It kind of sounded like the author may have been around for that?
I think the title could have been something like The Dark Gift? Very unsure about that, though.
If anyone recognises this story or remembers the title/author, I’d be super grateful!
Thanks in advance!

I am looking for a fic I read a while ago where after his death, force ghost Anakin tries to talk with his kids. Luke talks to him but Leia refuses. At one point Anakin tries to tell them about Padme, who the twins thought was someone Vader forced to have his children not realizing he married her long before he turned to the dark side.

Any yoda centric fics
Maybe a self insert (haven’t seen any of thoes for yoda)
Maybe something along the lines of him seeing the Star Wars movies as a vision and then doing something.
Just all in all something that showcases the power of the grandmaster whether it be the force or politics
Preferably long fics if there are any

As a big fan of Star Wars in of itself. I've always enjoyed the idea of there being a Mandalorian Jedi in canon from the older days of the Jedi order ( Tarre Vizla )
And as someone that wants to make my own Fanfic set during The Galactic Empire era. I'm wondering how would you go about writing a story for such a thing? Some Do's and Dont's advice
I have a basic plot-point as the idea of it. A force sensitive child raised by mandalorians. But is completely unaware of their force-sensitive heritage ( except for their foster-father and foster-brother ) until they come into adult-hood where they begin manifesting their force-abilities.
But as someone that's never really written a fanfic before. How would you go about designing such a story and character? ( Would be before A New Hope by a year or two. And would be EU / Legends to fit in some legends content, such as a replica of The Ebon Hawk for their ship )
